I'm an elderly man in my 70s & I was a teacher by profession but I haven't met a good teacher like u. I can grade u 100% +. U are one of the best teacher in the world.
It’s quite amazing to me how I’ll think about a certain thing for a few days or weeks and then Jon makes a video about it. It’s happened a lot. Thanks for the pond construction ideas!
This is the first thing that I did when I made my homestead. I now have over 6,500 fish in my pond and this is the best for the homestead. Thank you for the education
Just found this channel and this dude is amazing. I have been getting ready to buy some land an become self sufficient and his wealth of knowledge is incredible.
Jon Jandai, the wise uncle. Thanks for taking the time to explain this to us, Jon. In my land, terrain is hilly, and soil is mostly clay-like, but too many stones. I´m thinking on investing in a layer of geomembrane, but it´s quite expensive. I would have to learn some means to make the pond to hold water without it.
Thank you. I learned a lot. I will be digging a pond shortly, so this was timely information for me. Would love to see more information on the best plants to grow in or by the pond for feeding the fish in different climates. Mine is cool temperate.
Thank you so much sir for sharing your in-depth and practical way of creating a pond. These videos will help me lot. Salute to you sir! Looking forward more informative videos.
Jon my dear I have a question. I live on a large mountain . Where we live has little land and we live on a slope . Can we still dig a pond that’s useful for tilapia ? ( much love from Hawaii ♥️love your very helpful priceless videos).
Khob Khun Mak Krup! In permaculture they generally emphasize keyline design for dams but in many properties you’re just looking at a good place for aquaculture, your video explained it better! I tried in Kalasin province to make a pond by hand but now I understand why it didn’t fill up. Thanks again.
Great video! Greetings from Germany! What do you do against cormorants or egrets which eat a lot of fish from the pond? We are using nets over our small ponds here, but they do not look nice.
Very informative Thanks. May problem is my farm location is on top of mountain. I will definitely not hit the table water more than 4m deep might not be good. May plan then is to have a water basin on top (cemented) and shallow pond on the lower area
Great content...my area in Jamaica is pure clay soil....there are lots of underground rivers...I know because of research also wells have been dug to supply water by the government....we have one of the best water system in Jamaica....I want a piece of land for farming...thank you.
Good morning sir. I am your subscriber from the philippines. Ive learned a lot from your videos. You are very articulated and so very easy to comprehend. Sir, what about making videos on aquaculture?
Wow.. Ur videos are so great... I want to build a permaculture forest of own... finding ways to buy land soon... I think your videos will help me a lot when I do that... if I buy a land soon, I wish I could get ideas from you on how to build pond, grow trees etc...
Jon, you mentioned a few types of trees to plant around a fish pond because the fish eat the leaves. I know banana, cassava but you mentioned another one which I did not hear correctly ... the first tree you mentioned, was it “Lutina” or “luminaries” or something that sounds like that? Thanking you in advance for your reply.
Here in india there are so many rivers with water drinkable after boiling... People are still getting handpumps with river in 50 meters.... Eventually they will move to cities ... The bigger trap
Hello friend, By your video I can learn a lot to make my life easier. I have two questions. In my land is sandy soil so I want to dig a pond by covering plastic and I don't want to use commercial food to feed the fish as it will increase cost or can spoil the water. 1-Do you have any solution for sandy soil without using plastic?. 2. If using plastic pond, how can we do to make water fresh without changing it? My pond size: 15x10m and deep 2m. Thank you 💓
1 I have no better choice now. I don't use plastic in the sandy soil. I dig pond with very slope edge and make it big and deep . Then we sow rice grain very thick before the rain come . That is all we did. when the rain come the rice grow. The rice's root stop soil erosion quite good . The deep pond can hold water better. Some ponds are deeper than 6 meters. 2 when we use plastic we always cover plastic with soil then the soil will keep water clean. The water dirty because we use factory food for fishes if we use too much it will pollute the water. if we use grass or rice straw make a pile at the edge of the pond it will be ok.
Hi Jon I will move to my small 330 square meter plot in Samui very soon. I know this is very small land to think about a pond but I’m wondering if you have any experience with aquaponics? I plan to do similar to your video of how you used 200 square meters 😁 can’t wait 🙏🏻
Thanks so much, could you please give me an advice to keep much water and survive? My wife and me have a steep mountain, we intend to plant Upland Rice and Forest to survive, we have 3 options: 1. Top is Upland Rice and the below is Forest 2. Middle is Upland Rice and the Top & Bottom is Forest 3. Bottom is Upland Rice and the above is Forest Which option you think is best for us? Thanks so much.
The 3rd is the best way to do. When you have forest in the high part of the land leaves and branches fall down and decompose and flow to the rice. The forest will help to keep more water and slowly release to the rice too.
Beautiful Education
Mr Jon Janadi you deserve the title of Riśi the wise man who the people are benefited by his wisdom

Is it advisable to use rocks to support sandy soil to avoid erosion?
Jon my Garden is 17x10 Mt , what size pond do you think would be the right size to build?
What about having zones or areas like the shape you said was good what if you have one area shallow for the baby’s and a deep area for when it’s cold
God bless always :)

thanks Jon. where to dig if the land is flat everywhere?
Everywhere is good in the flat land but select high clay is the best.

Thank you. I want to ask how do you prevent beavers and lizards from attacking the fish in the pond?
Heya, beavers are herbivores so only attack plants 😁 the dams they create are also fish fry havens bc of the structure & insects they provide!
You are genius...
How do you stop your pond from becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes?
If you have fishes and keep the pond clean from water weeds there is no mosquitoes. The fishes will be so happy to have mosquitoes for breakfast.
@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy Thank you, Jon! Your response is very much appreciated! :)
Illuminate me please, Sir. How to keep frogs away?
how can we get rid of chemical in water from underground due to local field ?
Wow

I means leucaena or white popinac. This plant grow very fast and high nutrition. We eat them and feed animals too.
Here in india there are so many rivers with water drinkable after boiling... People are still getting handpumps with river in 50 meters....

In America we’re moving out of cities. I think they’ve finally realized the trap.
@@gullatteacres2555 yeah some people have realised in America..
Like rob Greenfield
I learned a lot. Thank u meanwhile
Thank you very much sir.
Fish tail shapes very interesting.
Can I also ask about salt and fresh water , Can any fish survive on both waters ?
There are some fishes can live in both waters but I don't know the name in English.
Thanks again..
