Surface area. 10-20% of the area of the pond. Larger ponds can be less. But, for a swim or recreation pond the bog filter could be up to 25% or more. Depending on what other filtration components you have.
Hey, the filtration is key in keeping a pond crystal clear. Do you have any type of filtration on your pond? If not, you are going to want to at least add in plenty of aquatic plants and add in regularly "beneficial bacteria". You need to keep the water moving in some way, if not a waterfall, you need to add in aerators.
@@CaliforniaWaterscapes yeahh, now it's already clear bcs of the rain, so the water change, and it grew moss, I also added some aquatic plant, the last is sunlight take the most change on the water I think, it's not full of sunlight, bcs the pond under the tree, but i cut some brances so the pond got sunlight and it help a lot the water more clear after that, now I can pet fishes in that pond🙂 thanks for ur answer
Not at all! Water features are a great way to give back to the environment, local birds and dragonflies. They also add the sights and sounds of water, giving you your own personal oasis! If you are concerned with mosquitoes, it's actually a myth, water features have a constant flow of water and mosquitoes only use stagnant water to breed. They also attract dragonflies which are an apex predator in the mosquito world.
sadly all these higher income houses feel they need 'features' to make their home site demand maintainance. Water use in a desert (California is overburdened). Grass needs water. What is payback of trees and bushes, sand, bark, etc. in a planet that has too many fashionistas. vs starving and ruined ecological lands by war like Ukraine/ Iraq Syria?
What is the deal with the random Spanish phrases ? Is that like your thing or you are trying to do some kind of translations for foreign viewers? Some people on youtube for whatever reason will starting using metric even know they are from America and I guess they are trying to get people in other countries to like them or something.
This channel deserves more love

I always thought it was a bad idea to build a water feature right next to a home?

Ahhhhhh, Cattle dogs ❣️. I have 4. My males will kill, my females just love. 🤣. Go figure.
I dislike this video because it is taking forever to inform and educate. Maybe it comes in tiny bits, but it is a waste of my time, frankly.
And you took time to say that. Wow. Why not just not watch. People are funny.
Don’t fall in!
