thank you for showing us what a proper koi pond should look like. too bad many pond enthusiasts see those "Aquacrap" ponds on youtube and think those 2 and half feet deep "water features" are a suitable environment for koi. they're just overpriced garbage imo. I'd love to have a pond just like this!

I knew there would be at least one person that couldn't keep Aquascape out of their mouth😅. You must not have been paying attention to their marketing or videos for many years. They've been pushing giant, deep, ponds for awhile now. They only recommend the shallow garden ponds for goldfish. The pond In this video is literally the style of ponds aquascapes offers now, minus the Oase products. But you better have a couple hundred grand to pay for a pond like that.
umm, some idiots don't know goldfish can get quite large even though they aren't valued the same way koi are - so they should be kept in deeper ponds as well. but you go ahead and believe whatever they're selling, hook, line and sinker@@AnthonysOutdoors
Thank you, educating the public on the difference between a eco system pond and a true koi pond, is what Yvo is doing such a good job with. This style of pond is so prominent in Europe but not in the United States. We are looking to change that.
@@AnthonysOutdoors thanks for watching and reaching out, I appreciate that. 😃 So, I want to be clear on this - We have two types of ponds: (1) Ponds with fish or (2) Ponds without Fish. Both are very different in many ways. Keeping goldfish is also not the same as keeping koi.
A good Koi Pond to keep your Japanese Koi healthy requires: mechanical - and biological filtration, bottomdrains, skimmer’s good pumps, proper pond design and fresh water.
These are facts, there is no if, but or maybe with keeping koi.
I like every pond, with or without fish. I had dozens of people reached out to me with questions or problems all wrong educated about keeping Koi. These people sometimes give up on our beautiful hobby which hurts me.
I am here to inspire and educate people, no matter what type of pond they have or by who it’s build.

How do you keep frogs and snakes away
Frogs are not a problem, snakes also are fine. Bears 🐻 are a challenge though 😋
We have had a few frogs and some snakes both are fine to have around your pond.
