was looking forward to Jack yelling "LET'S BUST SOME KNEECAPS" and was not disappointed
same here lol
kinda felt fitting to the tone and timbre, not going to lie, like it :)
I mean this in the kindest way possible and with a dash of envy: at times in this video he's the spitting image of a Muppet.
When?
@@lalugghh It's around 2:07.
I like to imagine that after five years of physical therapy and recovery, Johnny is getting his kneecaps busted all over again.
Catplop fuckingvlove this comment
Dude With a Camera hey thanks!
Catplop I don’t know how to express my love for this comment, it’s to good to be described. - also I got 501st like!
Haha genius!
This would make a great home alarm song. Can you imagine how creeped out and terrified burglars would be?
Reminds me of home alone
The thief's name better be Johnny
I would start dancing
“Alexa, intruder alert”
*this starts playing*
@@star_warped_6691 so this would be after the skyrim intruder alert song?
IN LOVE
doddleoddle SAME DODIE SAME I'VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG FOR YEARS

Great respect for Nataly to sing so well while playing bass
Ron Holt I know that’s so hard!!
not just playing bass, but playing fairly complicated
Cause bassists can't read? She memorized the words dummy. 🙃
@@smashkeys Because the important beats/accents of bass and a lead vocal are usually different in songs, it’s very difficult to do both at the same time well, and that’s without taking account of the passing notes in the bass to get you from chord to chord. If you’re singing lead and playing rhythm guitar or keys they normally align with the vocal more often rhythmically, so you have less to think about. In a traditional band set up usually bass is the hardest instrument to play while singing lead vocal if you want to get it right, hope this helps.
@@owaindc6285 I have it on good authority that it's impossible to sing and play the bass: ruclips.net/video/zQmhQyCMvig/видео.html
I love how Jack is always into and passionate to what he do.
This ought to be part of a Broadway show.
im glad you guys left jack screaming "lets bust some kneecaps" in the live cut. i love this so much
Ugh such a classic
Woot! Yeah it's so much fun to play live.
+PomplamooseMusic absolutely loved the original and hearing this live is an absolute delight. Crackin. Five years?? When!
and fun to listen to and watch performed.
I liked the original version of the song until now.The 'whole band' in the room, single take effect is SO much better. I just love the way Nat's voice has matured over the last few years. You guys ever gonn show on the east coast?
Hope someday!
This is my FAVORITE Pomplamoose original. Occasionally I find myself humming it much to the confusion of my family (out of context it can be jarring :) )
Also - LOVE John Schroeder's guitar work on this version. Subtle, but it sounds great.
Same. Of course I also whistle Sweeney Todd/Kill Bill songs at work, so maybe I am just a violent person.
My friends usually like me singing the song until I translate it to them. :D
Mike Klug imagine being at a dinner table then someone says under their breath “They’ll bust your kneecaps”
yeah out-of-context humming is always jarring
I love how she says "SMART" in a deadpan way, veiling a threat.
This cant be live, this sounds TOO GOOD
jezusmylord it’s live! I promise!!!
Be carefull, might bust your kneecaps 😉
@@erikskundzins9729 😮
I feel like this was one of the tracks that benefited most from being played by a live band, I love this version so much. Dare I say better than the original? :o
Agreed! The live version has more kick to it, so good
IM IN LOVE WITH THIS BASS TONE
i feel like you’d hear this in a horror movie or like a movie set in the 1950s
Johnny, don't leave me
You said you'd love me forever
Honey, believe me
I'll have your heart on a platter
Might you recall
We've got a small family business
And the family won't like this
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
Johnny, you told me
You were no fool, you were no chump
Then you got cold feet
Now all you'll be is a speed bump
It's something we call
Oh, just a small family business
And the family won't like this
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
That's what they're going to do
Johnny, there's still time
Together I know, we'd go so far
I'll tell uncle Rocco
To call off the guys with the crowbars
You call it crime
We call it smart family business
And the family is famous
Bust your knee caps
Bust your knee caps
It's such a shame
That you became such an issue
Oh dear Johnny, I'll miss you
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
That's what they're going to do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh yeah they're coming for you
Bust your knee caps
Ooh, bust your knee caps
Bust your knee caps
Ooh, bust your knee caps
They left out my favorite line of the original =[
"...prob'ly some other stuff too..."
Sounds great though!
Hahaha...yeah. "Prob'ly" tends to sound a bit awkward live. I never deliver the line quite right.
@PomplamooseMusic Practice makes perfect... Prob'ly. :b
5 years later, still such a cool couple of musicians.
51 yr old newbie here and all i can say is Wow! Huge fan of Mike Patton, Tool, rock metal jazz... and now pomplamoose!! I have alot to go over, love the hooks and originality!
I found this live recording back in 2020… I was living peak life, I had just applied for a promotion at my longtime job, got the position, adopted two kittens, and all was well. I can still feel the warmth of that late Spring air. I went to Hawaii that summer. Then, my grandmother (raised me as her own) got leukemia, passed away. I got attacked at work & was hospitalized (law enforcement.) I got out of the hospital and started having seizures- too this day, nonetheless. I lost my job. My grandmother died. My entire life fell apart, and I’m still trying put the pieces together all these years later…
This version of this song takes me back to a very magical time of my life. I hope you guys never take this version down.
Thanks for the memories. :)
HAAAAYYYYYY....Thumbs up if you're coming to one of Nataly's shows in Denver, LA, SF, Seattle or Portland!!!! Tickets at natalydawnmusic.com/shows
PomplamooseMusic I wish
coming to europe anytime soon?
I'd come to your AZ show if you had one.
I wish:( russia is too far away and it kinda costs money. Hope you have the best time ontour though, good luck)
The time of the Denver show isn't posted! I have improv class that night till 9:30, so probably conflicts...
Alternate lyrics that always play in my head:
"then you got cold feet/now all you'll be is a cold lump"
;D
Holy sht.. where has this song been my whole life 😭
This is the song than introduced me to Pomplamoose, and it's still probably my favorite one you guys have ever done. Love it!
This song is the reason I am addicted to Pomplamoose. The perfect Pomplamoose classic
WAS THIS REALLY LIVE?? This was performed & mixed SO well, un-freaking-believable
Y'all have been inspirational to indie bedroom artists since I was a yougin, Jack's "Nightmares & Daydreams" was integral in me wanting to become a musician
Keep kickin' asphalt my dudes

Hey! Vsauce, Micheal here!
This is a recording studio.
Or is it?
@@adamhopchop6224 It's just a small family business
Imagine vsauce just busting your kneecaps
@@yo_itsjordy9606 This is a fantasy I didn't know I had
I've always loved your bass lines. Nothing is better than a strong bass-driven song without a lot of noise coming from rhythm guitar.
I really enjoy your music. It makes me feel good just listening to it, even if it's about busting knee caps.
Only just discovered this song... can't believe I've lived without it for the past, what, 8 years of my life!?
"They'll bust your knee caps"
The most odd yet creative line ever love it!❤
My daughters have made this the official family anthem. Glorious.
Why do I love the music of Pomplamoose so much? BECAUSE THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!
Omg this is 5 years ago and this is my fav song it'd still trendy
평범한 일상을 특별한 날로 만들어 주는 노래!
This was originally the song that made me subscribe. :D
Same, this and their Mister Sandman cover

Same... I have shared this one a lot. My favorite
You guys make this elderly gentleman real proud of you younger folks. I like your sound and how you do things, and also for your use of old tunes, like this one, BUST YOUR KNEECAPS. WHAT AN OLDIE! But, anyway, you shown your granny, also, (in another video) so I really believe youse nose about the real family bizness. Thank you so much! Big Smile!
If you are listening to this song right now, your music taste is kneecap busting
Can we hear Jack sing? I miss his style so much.
I'm waiting for VS5 haha
I know! I miss when he sang on his channel, his voice shouldn't go to waste.. His style was so unique.
I hope you were able to see them in concert. He has a lot more involvement live. A ton of energy and fun. And the screaming/singing thing is awesome.
He's working on it! Check his Twitter for Periscope updates, he's got some amazing stuff coming
omg really? that's super nice!! I've been lost for some time, I'll check his periscopes
My god that bass is CLEAN.
5 years later, this song is more popular than ever.
SHE SOUNDS PERFECT LIVE! EVEN BETTER THAN RECORDED!!☺️
I can't show you guys enough love for this. This is one of my favorite songs. Not "by you," mind you.
I mean "ever."
anyone here who also has vivid memories of their old stream video of this?
Ugh the ‘lets bust some kneecaps’ 🥰❤️❣️
This was great! Immediately watched the older version afterwards. I really do miss and love the old style and videos they both did early on. It was so great to see all the tracks they had to put together being just the two of them for the final song. And certainly all of Jack's solo work ~2009ish like Gulf. Man I love listening to those! (Yes I bought them all!)
I first found out about you guys when I was in middle school and I can vividly remember scrambling to show everyone I knew your music, now years later I'm graduating from highschool still scrambling to show everyone your music, haha. It's been absolutely amazing to sit back and watch you two change and grow over the years. I will forever adore you two and can only wish you the best of luck!!!
My goodness! Thank you so much. Thank you for letting us be apart of your life.
This song is like a perfect romantic movie in black in white, where the spectator falls in love with music.
This has always been my favorite Pomplamoose song! So pumped to see this again! LET'S BUST SOME KNEECAPS!!!!
He's just sat playing the piano thinking life can't get any better than this.
I love this song
I really like this Yong pretty much actually !
The best music for a Tarantino movie!
FINALLY I FOUND THIS VERSION!
I love how this song is so dark bust sounds so happy 😵
Best song about busting someone's kneecaps EVER!

Guess I’ve been under a rock! Just discovered it recently and love it so much! Love Nataly Dawn so much! #pomplamoosemusic
What a nice song. İ thought it was a cover, listened to it many times and now learned original.
Nice to see some musicians who can play instruments. Wish mainstream music had some more of those...
Your right, can't believe it's been that many years! You have done so many great songs, but still my fave!!
Thanks, Loved this the first time you did and love it still.
this has always been my favourite pomplamoose song, even out of all the covers and mashups!!! still love it after all these years

I missed this song! I love it so much.
That Woman is incredible Beautiful. I can understand why Jack is always so Happy. An amazing couple. I love you!
We love this song and played it at our wedding! Everyone got a kick out of it.
This is one of my favorites you've done! I've shared it with so many people and they love it too! A couple of years ago, my daughter almost picked this out to be the song for the dad and daughter dance song at her wedding reception!
Making music with the most happiness ever....this makes all difference and turns some people unique...awesome. Love you both.
This is the first song I've heard of them and as I go through their videos, I'm genuinely falling in love with their style and such, they're amazing!
Absolutely wonderful; exquisite arrangement and first-class production. Love the facial expressions too! :-)
Wow, really like the new version. Especially at 1:42 when the bass smoothly comes back in! :)
adore this song. Thanks for uploading again!
Wow, have I really been watching you guys for 5 years now?
OMG! This is awesome... Seeing you guys surrounded by so many more musicians, voices, multiple camera dudes and stuff, fills my heart with fuzzy and warm feelings! Well done. Hugs!
Nat, this is one of the best uses of your gifted voice I have heard yet. Let er' Rip! Thank you!
just can't stop listening to it. Brilliant!
tHIS IS STILL THE BEST STUFF FOR THE BLUES IN MY BOOK!
I love you guys!
We are going to bust your knee caps, but we will make it sound nice and kind of normal while we do it LOL.
The road hump lyric always makes me chuckle!
Love this song so much..
One of my fav pomplamoose songs. Gotta love the old pomplamoose sound. 💗
Been on a Pomplamoose binge... and... this song knocked me to my "I played bass trombone in high school" CORE. WELL DONE
Just found this tonight, along with tonnes of other masterpieces from you guys. Love Jacks enthusiasm in all of them!
I have wanted this for so long, love this song!
