It makes perfect sense in my eyes. Higher refresh rate means more computing to be done, hence less battery life. To me, a slightely smoother scrolling experience certainly has less of a priority than battery life. My new laptop came with a 165Hz display. The first thing I did was setting it to 60Hz. Same story. The smoother image doesn't justify less battery and more noise by the fans, needing to cool down the additional processing that is happening.

@@mikebaker3712 Because I was talking about a laptop. It comes with a fixed screen, and since there are many components a laptop consists of, I don't make my choice solely on the screen. I did make a very good shot with this model, so the 165Hz are just a bonus that I am not gonna need. My car has an A/C, that I rarely ever use (I rather drive with open windows), but that wouldn't mean, that I am searching for cars without A/C.

Cute but sold my Apple and got the Google Pixel and never looked back. The only problem I've found with these is that nothing matches the audio recording of Apple phones. Especially if you're recording live singing, guitar etc. So I got an iPad especially for that.

I noticed that too. Reminds me of the Samsung phone which looked identical to the iPhone 3g, down to the physical design, the chrome edges, the home screen, even down to the main icon placement. Samsung were caught with their pants down and its happening again after they're losing confidence in their creasy folding phones.

Along with 120hz refresh and every other undercooked feature. Good job most of the Samsung junkware is turned off by default.
I'm using Gemini at the moment, although it's got a better voice and more intelligent search compared to Google assistant it's missing a feature I used to use on assistant now and then. Identifying the song, I know Shazam does this but was nice not to need a separate app for it.

Guys, can someone recommend me android phone but with no focus on camera. If i need camera i buy a camera. All internet articles suggest pixel or samsung. For pixel i feel like i waste money because most of it put into camera features and i made about 30 photos in last 8 years with my phone.
As for samsung, while I have samsung tablet and i like it, i would still prefer something else as samsung litters the system with his own products like samsung browser (its actually good, but adblockers dont do shit), assistants and other "samsung apps".
Depends on what you need from your phone really. Pixel has one big advantage - you can install GrapheneOS on it. Privacy focused and minimum apps preinstalled.

Why is AI being used the biggest buzzword possible these days? I know the companies go nuts for it, but afterall, they wanna sell hardware to consumers, and I have never heared anybody in the role of a consumer to ask for as much AI everywhere as possible.
I think I will fall into the camp of people staying away from AI indefinately. I don't know, if that makes me a rebel..... or a grandpa. Either way, by the fear of growing dumber when you let everything get done by AI, I rather stick to using my own hands and brains to get shit done.
Every company talks about it, because of what it can actually offer. It'll only make you dumber if you aren't using it to gain knowledge or learn a skill. The human brain is a marvelous learning/ knowledge storing machine, unfortunately greed and manipulation, or even the negative life circumstances of a person can absolutely decimate the ability for many to achieve a higher education.
Yes it's fiercely talked about in big tech to an annoying degree, but it's a very beneficial service to the masses, you need only know how it benefits you personally.

Using ChatGPT for gatherin knowledge? Well, you can never be certain AI is right about what it is reporting. Using AI for modifying images or video? I am a skilled digital artist myself who'd never outsource such tasks. Using AI to outsource tedious tasks? I can never trust people to do their shit right, and it's gonna be the same with computers, to interpret my queries just the right way and do exactly what I am imagining.
Also, being an artist, I see value in being able to say, that everything I am showing is my handywork, without any AI incorporated. I can do a lot of shit, and I can certainly do it better, as to when people put prompts into some software.
I have a liking to be in control. Doing things manually. Outsourcing stuff to AI would give me the feeling to be incapable of doing that stuff myself. And also there are always so many details about any action you do, that I would assume, AI simply couldn't do it just how I want it.
Like all those home assistants like Alexa. Ordering via such a thing was never feasable to me. I would want to know a lot of details about the product category I am looking for right now, so the AI would either need to read a lot of information to me, which takes forever, or it works quicker and wouldn't mention loads of details I need to know before making an actual purchase.
So I am wondering: Can you mention, where AI improves the life of most people? Like in direct use, I am not talking about AI being used in companies and that affects us. I am talking about some program or some device, that works with AI and that would be beneficial to most people to have.
