    Which are you making: the quilt or the blanket?

    I have literally been watching quilting videos all day and this was the only video that made me feel like I could tackle a quilting project! Although I probably need to watch videos on how to use a sewing machine since I’ve never used one. I want to quilt some clothing from my dad who passed away a year ago.

    Am I correct in assuming you r bottom layer being stitched is the batting? Confused

    don't you normally do the quilting before you do the binding as it moves the batting and stretches it?

      Probably, lol! This is how I’ve always done quilts, and because I usually just do straight lines down the lines of the quilt I haven’t noticed any issues. I’ve said it in several videos - I’m definitely not a professional! I will try doing the quilting before the binding next time. Thanks! 😊

    Where is your cutting mat?

      This was before I got a cutting mat! My mother-in-law said that she hated every time I cut right on my table so she bought me one for Christmas. 😂

    What weight is the batting?

    Do you have to add the border around the shirts?

    • @drinkandsewthings4806
      @drinkandsewthings4806  3 года назад

      No! You don’t have to if you don’t want to. 😊 You could always add bias tape or blanket binding, you could make the quilt self-binding, or you could place the back and top right sides together with the batting on the bottom, then turn it right side out after stitching around and leaving a 12-inch sized gap. I like adding the border because I like the way it looks, but there are so many options!

    That seems very wasteful with where you placed the tshirts squares onto the interfacing.

    And when you put the needle down, it keeps you from not sewing your finger, after you drink a bottle of wine!
