- Freezing at the off grid log cabin building the base and backsplash for the wood stove. Had to unhook the stove to build with no heat. Winter is coming at the off grid cabin and running out of time to get some last minute projects done. The old log cabin is really shaping up.
great video Son, need to get cushions for "MY" rockin chair...i need something soft to sit on haha...a couple of days working together and we will get a lot of fire wood..the fireplace and the brick around it looks awesome and it's safe...
Haha we will get you one
Cabin is looking good!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family enjoy your holiday weekend blessings to you 😊
Happy thanksgiving!!!
Hi Bo, the new brick behind, on the side and below the Woodstove looks great. The contrast of the brick color and the darker colored stain looks great as well. Glad that you also got the Wood Cubby closed off by the door to block the cold. Nice way to end the video with a chat sitting by the warm Woodstove.
Thank you very much Ben! Happy thanksgiving
Are you planning on living there full time over winter?
Cabin is looking great, brother!! Stove looks much better in the new spot! Sitting in that rocker, in front of that window, next to that woodstove is what that cabin is supposed to be all about! A little work, a little rest,! God bless you and your family! Peace ✌️
You got that right! I love that rocker !!
Hey Bo - The Bricks turned out looking extremely good. Really gives a warm and comfy look to the whole wood stove area. I think I was going with the metal in the last video, but you have certainly changed my mind. This just looks like it belongs there. Thank you for sharing. Stay Warm - Kind Regards, Randy @ Coyote Sticks by WILEY, Arizona.
My biggest reason behind it was for extra heat but I agree I think it looks better than the metal would have, hope you have a great thanksgiving bud
Awesome video Bo. I like the way your channel has progressed. The bathroom would definitely be a worthwhile goal. Will try to help you out some on patreon. Hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving!
Rick From Virginia
Rick you are a huge help as it is and I really appreciate you
Thanks for the video, it is always cool to see what you're up to.
And it’s great to have you here my friends
What task would be complete without the black stained trim?! Good stuff O.G.B. ☺
Hahaha thanks Anthony
where did you get the flat bricks from? i only know of a few places that make them.
Got them from a friend but I’ll ask for you
Haha! Better get that cushion for your dad’s rocking chair! Glad I found the channel!
Nice job!! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽️
Thank you and happy thanksgiving!!
Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving
You too my friend! Hope it’s great
So good to see you my friend. Glad your still making videos.
Ideally, this would have been an air-cooled wall. But, this will probably work, I suppose.
I got seven cords of wood, both wood burning stoves and pipes cleaned, and now I gotta deal with a water well pump that's not working. Where I'm at probably isn't quite as cold as where you're at, but I'm at 6840 feet in the southern Sierra Nevada and I was snowed in for nineteen days last March and so I'm doing my best to be ready for whatever winter has in store this year! (I even purchased new snowshoes and skis!)
Holy moly ! Seven cords is a ton of wood! Good job my friend
Did you remove a bunch of videos?
I did remove some older ones
Bo your wood door should not be opening towards the wood heater. Change the way it opens for two reasons one it you should have a little bit of drafted it’s going towards the heater and will be warmed up the two wood storage door should open away from the heater side so no one can get burned or the door gets to hot when it’s open. Just a few tips
I love how you got rid of the gloom
I hear that! Thanks for watching my friend
You should've used a mallet instead of a hammer.
But good job 👍
Looks great hope you can make some longer videos. I love watching you. Happy Thanksgiving Bo.
Haha that is my goal unfortunately sometimes it’s hard with the limited time I get working a full time job , happy thanksgiving my friend
If your stove has a outside combustion air vent you should hook it up. It will keep the cabin way warmer. The stove won’t need to search for air at every crack and crevice in the windows and walls.
Great advice , thank you
Add water supply lines into the cabin and feel like perfect
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, stay safe my friend. The cabin is looking great .
Thank you and happy thanksgiving my friend
Looks REALLY nice! The brick was the way to go. 👍
I think so too! Happy thanksgiving
Bo, do you have an email that I can write to you? I have some going off grid questions that I’d like to ask you. Been looking out west in the PNW and ID, MT and Utah. Trying for forests and freedom. Thanks for your time. Just subscribed today. Thanks, Jack

Hey Bo-bro - super to see you again. You did a magnificent job with the bricks around the stove. Looks really good. The door on the woodstorage is also a very good idea. No cold air coming through there for now! Somehow it seems you are more into making your home a permanent home. I remember when you were still talking about and started working on a new cabin, further back in the woods. Remember those videos very clearly. But it seems to me that you let go of that idea and are fully focussing your energy on this place. And I think that is a good choice. It is a wonderful place, and you did so well on all of it. I hope you can feel at home there without feeling an urge to start something new else where again. Glad you are doing well! Take care brother. Greetings Jason PS Happy Thanksgiving (in advance)
Yeah with the cost of things right now working on the original cabin makes the most sense for sure , it’s really coming along 😃 I hope you have a great thanksgiving Jason! And thanks for being here

Wow 😳 I love the brick work, that makes it!!
Thank you so much !
If you want any lumber I have a sawmill come help me saw it out and you can work on your bathroom. Not sure how far away you are but if you need it the offer is there
Are you in ny?
Yes sir north hudson
👏👏👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Watched you last winter Bo. That brickwork looks great. Safety first. Beautiful cabin and great place.
Neat job. Like in traditional fireplaces I think that the hearth extension could've been extended out on the front just in case you get an errant piece of burning firewood landing on the floor
The brick behind your woodstove has turned out beautifully. Sure looks nice and cozy. Happy Thanksgiving. ❤️ 👍🏻
Thank you!! Happy thanksgiving
Assisti o vídeo hj pela primeira vez, vc é muito caprichoso. Gostei dos tijolinhos, da parta das lenhas e do trato no fogão. Saudades do Brasil.
Real nice hearth and backwall for stove!!
Thank youuu
Awesome looking from Tennessee
Thank you so much !
Who does concrete in the winter?

Thank you my friend !
Awesomeness sir.
Thank youuuu
Lovely vlog 👍👍
Thank you my friend
LOOKS GREAT
Thank youuuu
Really enjoying your videos! Wasn't too sure on the red bricks when you first started putting them up but they look sweet! Nice work. Yeah, lumber is crazy. I plan to build a new cabin from the ground up, prices have more than doubled on some items in the last few years. Looking for some nice used windows and other items. Cheers!
That sounds awesome ! Keep me updated my friend !
The cabin is looking great. Nice job on the bricks. Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you my friend ! Happy thanksgiving
You should construct a cabin facing south (and that's the most important side to have windows on), as that way you get the most free light and the most solar warmth (it makes a surprising difference). Have shutters on the windows on the outside and inside to help prevent heat-loss.
Great advice
Good job on the masonry work. Cabin is looking great! Stay safe & take care.
Thank you my friend
U are so lucky to have this cabin keep up the good work 💪🏻
