Hi Coach, i have just measured from Hand to Hand and I'm about 38/39 My bars are 42......Looking forward to the bike fit, i think its gonna make a world of difference to my riding position Great Vid thank you
Hello Coach! I made improvement of your ping ping method. It is simple and easy to use. Just put your fire fingers into water, stand against wall, do ping ping test and push your fingers against the wall. then you can measure lenght of two dots.
Hey coach you promised to share a video about adjusting the reach in the next week! 2 weeks are already passed. I didn't catch it! Did you deleted it already 😁 Please share, we will be glad to see it. Thanks a lot!
Couple years ago I decided to try (on my road bike) Lee McCormack's theory of RAD from mtb world that I've already tried on my mtb bikes (it was great). Same effect on road bike! I found that according to both his and your theory (I guess) better purchase bikes that that are one or two sizes down from recommendations. Waiting for your video about this topic 😄🙌😎🎉😇🤗 Thank you!!
I went outside and shouted but only the neighborhoods dog came, lol. Great videos like usual, thank you for sharing this good information. Greetings from Perú!
Hii coach, thanks for sharing the video, you are a true legend and a gem… i have elbow pain on my right hand when i am on the drops even for 1 min, what can be the cause coach? I do have 420mm bars and the shoulder length is 420mm measured as in the video, my height 174cm and road bike size 54cm, i have no discomfort riding in any other position on the bikes, its just when i go aero, the below right elbow pains allot whereas the left no pain at all… i have started aero position recently only trying to work on this weakness area which i have… Thanks coach… keep on smiling 😊😊😀 Nadeem
Does this measurement apply for a flat bar also? My measurement is reaching to 26 inches ie. 660 mm. My handlebar is also of the same size but still having numb palms. Plz advice. Thanks.
Hi coach, great video, I’ve had a bike fit I’ve re checked my bar width as you illustrated appears to be correct, my issue is that I get a numb left after about 1 hour of riding, right had seems okay, any ideas please. Thanks
Interesting video, thanks. I almost always suffer with numb hands when riding and I found it happened least on an old Raleigh that I recovered from my father in laws shed. It has 36cm bars, my other bikes have 44cm although I recently tried a set of 40s with not much improvement. The Raleigh has a smaller frame, and lower stack than the newer bikes which were chosen from the manufacturers recommended sizes and are probably too big (182cm, size 58). I have also tried shorter stems with little improvement.
I have a conundrum... Well actually a question. I am 42 cm in width at my shoulders, I have a 42 cm handlebar but I still get numb hands (right mostly but sometime the left also). So I tried this method and I had my son measure my ping ping L-shaped hand guns. That measurement came out depending on the attempt 38-40 cm (It differs slightly each time but falls in that range). Now, what should I do?
How about leg cramping? was 50 miles into a 53 mile race (gravel, level b roads, paved, single track) and both hams and quads cramp at once. Walked for about a minute and was able to ride again. How can i prevent the cramping?
Not sure how you can ride straight bars. But good on you. Straight bars are never supposed to be straight anyway. You should replace them if they aren't working.
@@joerenner8334 Yeah, I was hoping to fix my numb hands with adjustments rather than spending money, but looks like replacement bars with hoods/drops would be optimal. Thanks for the really useful information in this vid.
@@reavsie1 Or just bars with upsweep , backsweep, and rise etc might be enough. Your local BS should be able to help. Getting into drop bars will add a lot of $ to change out brake/gear levers.

👍👍👍
Thank you Coach, this definitely would help me to get my handle bars super dial in and my occasional numb hands
👍👍

Appreciate you sharing your years of knowledge. Thanks Coach.
Have to keep reminding myself that I’m not watching train spotting.😅
I went from 440 bars to 400, was an amazing improvement

I will Erol - I didn’t get time in studio but will aim to do it this week 👍

Thank You Coach! You’re a gem!
Is there a 'simple' and practical way of reducing/eliminating cyclists elbow? The discomfort in the tendons below the elbow joint?
Excellent 👍

😂😂😂😂 sounds like a friendly dog 🐶👍👍👍
Thx coach ;)

sounds like a computer or phone RSI injury. Have some rest.
Hi Coach, does this measurement scale work for mountain bike riders as well?
I don’t use it for MtB.
I always get numb hands on my mountain bike. I have tried several gloves, grips and position. 😬
Any tips for numb hands on flat bars?
My bike came with 44mm bars, had a bike fit and now on 36mm bars. Problem is the bike industry fits too wide bars to bikes.
Cm not mm
Correct 👍👍👍👍
You do have special powers.

Hello, can I use this on my Mtb ?
Exactly 40 cm, which is why I also ride a 40 cm handlebar... I don't feel comfortable on 42 cm.

Drink enough water for clear urine every 2 hours bro. Cramps gone!
Im assuming you are eating enough carbs to match your carb cravings.
So basically, with a hybrid bike that has straight bars, I'm ***** (expletive deleted).

I get one numb hand? 🤷♂️ and only when I ride slow with my gf
