As a novice I love the back to basics tutorials and I revisit them , but I also enjoy the foam free, contemporary designs. They are all inspiring. Thanx
A fabulous design with lovely garden flowers. I love this type of design and enjoy watching the different styles you do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I have limited access to fresh flowers, so have collected a variety of silks. I like to learn all styles of arrangement. In my opinion, all mechanics have their uses. The wire frame is excellent for silks, but equally effective is a short multi-stemmed varietal bunch of greenery and small blooms. They act as a camouflage mechanic, hiding the wire stems in clear vases. For fresh arrangements in a retail setting, especially as part of an international wire service, cost is a powerful factor, alongside security during delivery. Those wire services dictate the price to the customer, regardless of the local florist’s costs, which is going to drive the florist’s purchasing practices. Peeps gotta make enough to cover supplies, real estate, inventory, employees, taxes. Corners MUST be cut, to get their square peg to fit in the wire services round hole. Fact of life.
I'm also a very busy retail florist and we deliver loads of arrangement in wire netting so it can be done witing budget and delivered quite successfully. But remember that this channel is aimed at helping everyone including the home arranger, hobbyist and trainee florists and with the world looking for more environmentally friendly options these designs are a good place to start. If its fit for our King then I'm sure we can all adapt a little to help the environment and to offer choice to the customer.
@@sharondower Ah, yes. Perhaps you can’t be subjected to a lawsuit if someone impales themselves on the wire. Here, that is an issue that must be considered. 🤷♀️ Everywhere is different.
It's a good job they don't know all the side effects of using a carcinogenic foam then or there would be more law suits. We live in such a strange world 🌍
I never really liked these designs, as I thought they looked old fashioned. However, I have made a design in a legged compote dish recently with wire mesh and I have to say, I liked the finished effect. I found it quite tricky keeping everything in to start with, as things either moved or kept poping out. I can see the benefits of producing a nice flower design without using foam. Another time, could you perhaps show a design in a handled basket, using foam, where you still need to keep space at the top to enable to hold the handle. Many thanks for all your wonderful ideas.
Thank you so much. I have previously bought floral foam for my classes, but I will use up the foam, and use more sustainable foam. I ordered some agro wool block. The design is very lovely.
Thanks Valerie, its great to experiment with different types of mechanics and even though the sustainably sourced foams are great, we still have to import so many flowers, so I think the industry has a long way to go before we are treating the planet more kindly.
Beautiful! Your instructional tutorial are such a inspiration. I have a request. My daughter is getting married later this year and among other things I’m responsible for the flower arrangements. I would really appreciate some guidance on how to efficiently produce many ( about 20) small arrangements for wedding dinner guest tables (about 100 guests). One of the challenges is that preparation time is short on the day so what can be done as preparation a day or two in advance? How would you approach this. I would be so grateful for your advice😊
I love these natural designs, I've moved away from rigid shapes, ,triangles etc, nature doesn't grow in a triangle! I don't use foam anymore because of the environmental damage
Gorgeous colours. I’m a little jealous of your garden 😂 (trying to get mine going but it’s been decimated by the snow and ice but I do have a few hellebores so will try to do something similar soon). I enjoy the mix of designs and would appreciate seeing various sustainable techniques. Thank you, Sharon 🌸
I love these foraged and grocery store designs as well as floristry materials! Thanks, Sharon! Beautiful 💞💞💞
Thank you so much! I love them too!
Hi Sharon , I thinks it great to see just how lovely a design can be using traditional materials and techniques….❤thank you ❤️
Thank you so much! Thanks again for watching

Love the delicate flowers.
Thanks so much 😊
I like the colors of the flowers and the foliage, free flowing arrangement👍⭐️
Aren't the Hellebores just gorgeous, thanks for watching
A beautiful arrangement, I especially love the glassware!
Me too! I sure its either 1920's or 30's, so elegant and really suits these delicate flowers.
A fabulous design with lovely garden flowers. I love this type of design and enjoy watching the different styles you do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thank you so much 😊
Lovely colour, combinations and I like the more relaxed look in the wire rather than foam. Thank you.
Definitely more relaxed and so therapeutic - I love this style
I loved this design and love your modern and environmentally friendly looks. Keep the content coming, please. 😃
Thank you! Will do!
Absolutely gorgeous! Love the colours and delicacy of the materials, thank you for sharing. We have snow here in the North East, hurry up Spring!
Oh wow! We had very heavy snow last week, but it melted very quickly!
Absolutely love this arrangement, so beautiful and I love using the chicken wire!!
Arranging in chicken wire is soooo therapeutic, I love it too!
Thanks, love this, enjoy a mixture of all. Great to see foam free. Thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks again Hannah
Simply beautiful. I always like foam free. Thank you.
Thanks for watching
So happy you’re using the wire mesh. Beautiful design. 14:04 14:07
Thank you! Cheers!
You need to add warer as soon as you put the wire mesh in vase. The flowers will seal themselves up within a minute. Your design is beautuful.
Thanks Karin. Don't forget I do mention that I would normally add water at the beginning but thanks for the reminder

A basket is a great idea. I think 'old-fashioned' is the new fashion!
Stunning design
Thank you
