In this Video, we review the Foresight GCQuad by taking it to the driving range to see how accurate this launch monitor is.

I watched this video after seeing Rick Shiels compare a phone app to GC Quad. I’m wondering how much the wind had an effect on accuracy. £20000 worth of machine I’d expect it to be very accurate with no wind. I think you could do better with this vid by finding a day with no wind although I appreciate that is difficult. Also what does GC Quad say about its accuracy levels. Do they claim 95% accuracy on carry distance or do they say the accuracy of the carry distance is based on zero wind? Do they list the things they would expect to effect the accuracy of carry distance? So many questions! Get down to GC Quad and demand those answers! (Send me a link if you’ve done this already!) Great vid btw.
you can make so it use the "wind" conditions where you are :) otherwise its like your hitting in a huge hangar with no wind or anything affecting the ball

You got a hookup where we can borrow a Trackman and Quad for a short time next summer? We'd love to do it! Just don't have easy access to either!
@@CarlsPlace I know a few places around me allow you rent one...Maybe even a pga superstore? Also, how as it the GC quad with left/right measurements? Would be cool if you tried to do some big hooks/slices and see if the QC quad picked up on it accurately...
@@jim52356 We will keep that in mind for next time we have one in hand! We certainly have some people who can hit big hooks and slices (without even trying!).

Gc quad doesn’t know if where the ball is landing is above or below the starting point which would affect the difference in distance. Looks like this range is a little down hill which would make it longer in real life and also the wind like you stated.
Yup, that's why we make sure to point out the different factors that could affect the readings!
Great video, may I know what the spin rate was for driver shots? Because if the shot had less than 2500RPM, the carry on the Quad seems to go higher. Thanks for the test!
Thanks! And we did not record the spin data. Only carry distance as that was what we were testing for and comparing, figuring the spin data was all part of the algorithm and calculation for the carry distance.

Why is mike setting the flag 2 yards or so in front of the ball each time? Seems like it's adding a significant amount of error to the measurements.
Hi Kevin! Mike was marking the carry distance, which is where the ball first lands, not total distance where the ball rolls out to. That said, there is still some human error involved and that's why we made sure to mention that!
