Bulwark's probably gonna be my go to. I love Knights and Melee. And I love the idea of being the Bulwark against the Terror. NO PITY! NO REMORSE! NO FEAR!
This is the only strict element of the video that made me cringe a bit. I don't think such an ability has a place in 40k outside of some type of tyrranid tentacle. Space Marines are not "Aloy" or "Lara Croft" zipping around on ropes that come from nowhere.

I get that they didnt want all the mobility of the jump pack confined to one class but theres a ton of better ways of accomplishing this. Teleporter pack is the first thing that comes to mind but a charge/sprint ability would also work. Space Marines are not the big hulking brutes they appear to be, in a full sprint theyll be moving much faster than they currently do in this game.
@@sluggy6074 That's a good point - there is often in games a confusion of size and mass of SM with low dexterity and speed like a big clumsy knight because the genehanced parts that undepin them aren't applied in the concept of a game showing them to be faster, smarter, more dextrous and yes, more powerful, than a "normal" human. This is present for example in the Inquisitor martyr game where enemy space marines are operating at the same speed as enemy cultists and humans.
I just think of it as the vanguard kicking off into a jump at them and the thing just helps keep that momentum rather than completely relying on who is heavier. Idk. Probably just an oopsie or for the fun of the gameplay type of thing. Not a crazy big deal, but I could see better methods to go about it.
That vanguard grappling move is insane. Imagine feeling a grappling hook hit your leg you look up too see a tank zooming right at you! I hope they have cool animations where when your zooming through weak enemies and they explode like a-train. Then bigger tougher opponents you pop through like a bullet for a finishing move
The grappling hook looks so damn stupid IMO. A space marine in armour probably weighs 5 times as much as those enemies, they should get yoinked towards him instead of him gliding towards them like a fairy. I just can't unsee that....
@Jordan_C_Wilde I think it'd be cool if they gave the Vanguard some sort of boosters on their armor, like the grav chutes on reivers, which I know are more like parachutes, but still it would make sense cus they're boosting off the ground.

I'm in the same boat with you man. Although, may try a bolter, as I think there's a perk that if you grapple to do an execution, it gives you another grapple charge, would be wild to be grappling all over
@Koranthus I would count on it coming later. It was very popular last time so it'll probably reappear. It did get delayed, so maybe they initially wanted to add it but that delay messed up the plans. They were probably pushed to release it instead of being given time to add it.
No axes, no flamers, no autocannons, no claws, no single hand hammers, no double hand chainswords, no double hand swords... They left out some of the more iconic weapons.

Vanguard with melta and knife has the perfect movement selection combined with the best aoe heavy damage and insane single target damage. probably best for PVP but will also thrive in pve.

some wierd choices devs did heavy bolt pistol model is closer in design to special issue b.pistol used by reiveirs (more ap and damage) which for some reason he doesnt use(same with bolt carabine, is it for balance or what). I kind wish he got acces to lightning claws. Frankly it feels weird arming infiltration specialist with melta gun. Maybe automatic firing version of plasma incinertor but not melta, but oh well at least it's satisfying to use. As for Bulwark he is based on Blade guard veteran so I don't understand why he doesn't have acess to heavy bolt pistol or neo volkite pistol (continus death ray kind of gun) Why is sniper using bolt carabine instead of instigtor bolt c? And its kinda sad sniper b.r doesnt have acess to multiple kind of ammunition. As Heavy is using Gravis Im suprised he doesnt have acess to bolt storm gauntlets (a love child of power fist and hurricane bolt array- like a10 of 40k), it could work so that in his melee slot he uses the fists and in secondary uses the boltpistols maybe also use top chasis mounted fragstorm grenade launcher as primary
Giving a phobias armor class a melta rifle is crazy lol. There is a reason they are locked to carbons and sniper rifles on the table top. I love that they did not stick to the strick weapon profile for the different armor classes on the table top.
As someone who isn’t super into strategy games I’m so glad we’re getting a game like this in the Warhammer 40k universe again. I’m pretty new to it and got invested cause of the Henry Cavill news but most of the games are strategy games which isn’t my favorite. I did play and enjoy rogue trader though I didn’t finish it yet due to my massive backlog.
I’m going to be running a Heavy Black Templar and will be enjoying every second of my crusade against the forces of chaos and alien filth. My brother is a bulwark dark angel…I’m pretty sure every dark angel will be a bulwark with the power sword and plasma pistol anything else would be heresy.
Kinda disappointed in Assault, no plasma pistol and no power sword? What? Those are very iconic weapons, they shouldn't be locked to just Bulwark. It seems like these classes weapon selections are pretty bare bones tbh.
@@alexlyster3459 Sure but I think the distinction between Bulwark and Assault is very clear and doesn't need exclusive weapons (at least not such iconic staples) - the Bulwark is tankier and has a shield whilst the Assault is more mobile and has a jump pack. Add to that perks that further emphasize there roles, and thats plenty of distinction imo
I feel like they need to swap some weapons with some classes to better fit the units they're based off of. The Vanguard should have the Carbine Bolter instead of the Melta, the Stalker Bolter should be given to the Tactical instead of the Sniper, and the Sniper should have the Instagator Carbine instead of the Stalker Bolter, and the Heavy Bolt Rifle should be given to the Heavy.
No matter what, I plan to play and lvl every damn class this game has….no rest for us ultra marines🤘 but seriously, every video I watch makes me more stoked for this game, I think Bulwark and Tac are going to be my two favorites, but going to absolutely lvl them all!
As a Dark Angel I'm obviously looking forward to going sword and board Bulwark with those robes, but I'm also interested to see what options Tactical has if I want to go for a Hellblaster build with the Plasma Incinerator, same with Heavy and the Heavy Plasma Incinerator. I wonder if in the future they might add the option for Assault to take the Assault Bolters or Plasma Exterminators and essentially become an Inceptor at the cost of their dedicated melee weapon
melee build with the carbine for the sniper, i saw the melee focused perks, "embrace how the game wants you to play the sniper" psssh you didnt experiment enough
One thing that I'm not being particularly a fan of are animations and UI elements. A lot of very bright colored and very big UI symbols are displayed for parry, dodge, executions and even for flight with the jump pack. This causes a lot of visual pollution plus it makes the game look a lot less Grim Dark and much more childish. Same with the head bobbing and kind of jumpy running animations and executions are kind of lazy, they are the same for every class and to do so, your weapon just vanishes out of thin air and reappears out of nowhere. Even the Auspex Scan animation suffers from this. It looks more like a Necron animation than a Space Marine one. I would much rather have it be like a sonar ping that highlight targets than a giant sphere with an AOE range with Necron like effects. Am I the only one taking issues with these things?
Man I don't know a huge amount about 40k lore but I do know there are space marines who are psykers. I'm pretty sure they're called Librarians which would be damn sweet to play as. I hope they add more classes in latter on. Either way I'm excited for this game to come out already can't wait to play.
Except They're different The bolter or bolt gun is still a thing for the first born. The primaris intercessors have bolt rifles, and is designed to be less of an assault weapon like the bolter, and more of a specialised ranged weapon.

Space marine 1 had perfect pvp. And if you got killed by someone you could click “copy load out” and use it exactly as they had with all upgrades until you died, and could copy whoever killed you.
They should be putting this game in early access beta why are there so many videos on this game already and none of us can play it. At least let us play a demo😭😭
They explained that doing a beta would take away focus and man power from their devs and instead want to clean up the game before release date. They gave out free cosmetic to those who had access to the beta in an apology since they canceled it.

Think since the bolt pistol comes standard with basically everybody I'm going to use the plasma pistol with any class that has access to it. Probably focusing on Heavy and tactical or bullwark. Those three classes seem like the most fun especially Heavy. Love some big guns and nasty stompin. Think the Heavy is going to have the Dark Angel pattern on him. The tactical having the Ravenguard pattern and the Bulwark having the Blood Angels pattern on it. That seems lore accurate to their styles to me. Gonna pretend the Dark Angel Heavy has some experience clearing Space Hulks.
I get the feel that good Sniper players will be very respected, kinda like the hunting horn users in monster hunter just beacuse who wants to play a space marine that hides and shoots from afar instead of a paladin that throws himself at enemies like a nuke. Yet, the sniper players will be very valuable

Imperial Fist Tactical and Black Templar Bulwark are gonna be my two mains.
I'm hoping they add Aggressors and Desolators in the future. (And maybe terminators and librarians?)

terminators definitely way too op to be its own class. The only class i see being added is an Apothecary,/Combat Medic, maybe.

Heavy: Frontal Assault

As someone who longs for the last stand and supporting teammates, the Heavy is my go to class.
Call it what it is, Vanguard and Sniper are calling me by my middle name.

some wierd choices devs did heavy bolt pistol model is closer in design to special issue b.pistol used by reiveirs (more ap and damage) which for some reason he doesnt use(same with bolt carabine, is it for balance or what). I kind wish he got acces to lightning claws.
Frankly it feels weird arming infiltration specialist with melta gun. Maybe automatic firing version of plasma incinertor but not melta, but oh well at least it's satisfying to use.
As for Bulwark he is based on Blade guard veteran so I don't understand why he doesn't have acess to heavy bolt pistol or neo volkite pistol (continus death ray kind of gun)
Why is sniper using bolt carabine instead of instigtor bolt c? And its kinda sad sniper b.r doesnt have acess to multiple kind of ammunition.
As Heavy is using Gravis Im suprised he doesnt have acess to bolt storm gauntlets (a love child of power fist and hurricane bolt array- like a10 of 40k), it could work so that in his melee slot he uses the fists and in secondary uses the boltpistols maybe also use top chasis mounted fragstorm grenade launcher as primary
I was really hoping to have a apothecary class to be the team medic, healing is something this game sorely needs.
Giving a phobias armor class a melta rifle is crazy lol. There is a reason they are locked to carbons and sniper rifles on the table top.
I love that they did not stick to the strick weapon profile for the different armor classes on the table top.

As someone who isn’t super into strategy games I’m so glad we’re getting a game like this in the Warhammer 40k universe again. I’m pretty new to it and got invested cause of the Henry Cavill news but most of the games are strategy games which isn’t my favorite. I did play and enjoy rogue trader though I didn’t finish it yet due to my massive backlog.
Vulkan demands the heavy flamer and so do i! Oh and a thunder hammer that looks like vulkans would be awesome as well!
I would really like to see Power Axe for Bulwark, Power Claw and Chain Axe for the Assault in the future.
I’m going to be running a Heavy Black Templar and will be enjoying every second of my crusade against the forces of chaos and alien filth. My brother is a bulwark dark angel…I’m pretty sure every dark angel will be a bulwark with the power sword and plasma pistol anything else would be heresy.
That or the heavy plasma incinerator. Looks dope and maybe it means well see a gravis armoured plasma unit
Kinda disappointed in Assault, no plasma pistol and no power sword? What? Those are very iconic weapons, they shouldn't be locked to just Bulwark.
It seems like these classes weapon selections are pretty bare bones tbh.

@@alexlyster3459 Sure but I think the distinction between Bulwark and Assault is very clear and doesn't need exclusive weapons (at least not such iconic staples) - the Bulwark is tankier and has a shield whilst the Assault is more mobile and has a jump pack. Add to that perks that further emphasize there roles, and thats plenty of distinction imo

I was hoping to use plasma pistol on assault. Sucks ass they don't get access for some reason.
Those updated space Marine armor designs are on point. It's a good subtle change to the classic armor we have seen for over 20 years.
I feel like they need to swap some weapons with some classes to better fit the units they're based off of.
The Vanguard should have the Carbine Bolter instead of the Melta, the Stalker Bolter should be given to the Tactical instead of the Sniper, and the Sniper should have the Instagator Carbine instead of the Stalker Bolter, and the Heavy Bolt Rifle should be given to the Heavy.
Also the plasma pistol and power sword should be added to the Tactical and Assault classes
Tactical and bulwark are definitely my go top classes the only question is “which one do I start with?”

No matter what, I plan to play and lvl every damn class this game has….no rest for us ultra marines🤘 but seriously, every video I watch makes me more stoked for this game, I think Bulwark and Tac are going to be my two favorites, but going to absolutely lvl them all!

As a Dark Angel I'm obviously looking forward to going sword and board Bulwark with those robes, but I'm also interested to see what options Tactical has if I want to go for a Hellblaster build with the Plasma Incinerator, same with Heavy and the Heavy Plasma Incinerator.
I wonder if in the future they might add the option for Assault to take the Assault Bolters or Plasma Exterminators and essentially become an Inceptor at the cost of their dedicated melee weapon
melee build with the carbine for the sniper, i saw the melee focused perks, "embrace how the game wants you to play the sniper" psssh you didnt experiment enough

Tbh bulwark seems like the strongest even in gameplay, being tanky, dealing good dmg, and the perks are great
One thing that I'm not being particularly a fan of are animations and UI elements. A lot of very bright colored and very big UI symbols are displayed for parry, dodge, executions and even for flight with the jump pack. This causes a lot of visual pollution plus it makes the game look a lot less Grim Dark and much more childish. Same with the head bobbing and kind of jumpy running animations and executions are kind of lazy, they are the same for every class and to do so, your weapon just vanishes out of thin air and reappears out of nowhere. Even the Auspex Scan animation suffers from this. It looks more like a Necron animation than a Space Marine one. I would much rather have it be like a sonar ping that highlight targets than a giant sphere with an AOE range with Necron like effects. Am I the only one taking issues with these things?

Man I don't know a huge amount about 40k lore but I do know there are space marines who are psykers. I'm pretty sure they're called Librarians which would be damn sweet to play as. I hope they add more classes in latter on. Either way I'm excited for this game to come out already can't wait to play.

The bolter or bolt gun is still a thing for the first born.
The primaris intercessors have bolt rifles, and is designed to be less of an assault weapon like the bolter, and more of a specialised ranged weapon.

in terms of balancing, yeah you dont have to balance around multiple bulwarks, but that also means your FORCED into other classes instead of it being a viable pick
Space marine 1 had perfect pvp. And if you got killed by someone you could click “copy load out” and use it exactly as they had with all upgrades until you died, and could copy whoever killed you.

They should be putting this game in early access beta why are there so many videos on this game already and none of us can play it. At least let us play a demo😭😭
They explained that doing a beta would take away focus and man power from their devs and instead want to clean up the game before release date. They gave out free cosmetic to those who had access to the beta in an apology since they canceled it.
This will be my introduction to the Warhammer universe. I've been listening to the Remembrancer, other 40k podcasts and Googling lore about the different Astartes Chapters to prepare for this game. I'm super pumped.

I’ve always pronounced it carBINE but whenever I’ve heard someone in the military refer to one it’s carBEAN. I feel like they’ve got the better credentials of pronunciation but I can’t help myself lol.

Think since the bolt pistol comes standard with basically everybody I'm going to use the plasma pistol with any class that has access to it. Probably focusing on Heavy and tactical or bullwark.
Those three classes seem like the most fun especially Heavy. Love some big guns and nasty stompin.
Think the Heavy is going to have the Dark Angel pattern on him. The tactical having the Ravenguard pattern and the Bulwark having the Blood Angels pattern on it. That seems lore accurate to their styles to me.
Gonna pretend the Dark Angel Heavy has some experience clearing Space Hulks.

Bottom line is, the mortifactors are my go to so expect black armor and the skulls of my enemies adorning it

I get the feel that good Sniper players will be very respected, kinda like the hunting horn users in monster hunter just beacuse who wants to play a space marine that hides and shoots from afar instead of a paladin that throws himself at enemies like a nuke. Yet, the sniper players will be very valuable
