Great game and loving your enthusiasm for this great game too! Couple of rule lawyer points that might help you out in future games with your Junior Leader actions -
Machinegewehr - this takes 2 initiatives to do so a JL can do this but this means the rifle team won't fire. The JL either uses both initiatives to fire both teams or uses both initiatives to fire just the MG team with machinegewehr. In reality it is better to have the whole squad fire, machinegewehr is used when your split the squad and send the rifle team ahead and use the JL and MG team to give them covering fire. A Senior Leader with 3 initiatives could order machinegewehr and have the rifle team fire however.
I think you may have used your JL to activate an adjacent squad to fire (I may be wrong so feel free to ignore). A JL can only order or rally his own squad and not adjacent squads.
In the middle of the village you had a team run all out over a wall - you can't run over obstacles, you usually drop the lower or higher dice roll depending on the type of obstacle.

Great game, CofC is one of my favourite game systems. The impact of the post battle calculations can be brutal. But, normally, there is an inbuilt safe net in the campaign that lets you replace the shot up platoon with a fresh one. Looking forward to more battle reports to paint my Epic scale confederates while watching :)

Awsesome mate - brutal battle - hand to hand really knocks both sides. I have watched a few of your COC games - not having played it could you do a bit of an explainer about how the dice work at the start of each phase to allow orders to be given? I think I have worked a bit of it out from your games but I still get a bit lost.

Hey doc, you mentioned that you need some German assault engineers. I have a close-to-new Warlord pack, albeit early/mid-war. Box is beat to hell but the sprues are intact.
