I so hope this doesn't end up like Tower of Fantasy... I feel like it looks excellent, right? But I said the same thing about ToF, it supposedly had all the answers I (Personally) wanted from Genshin, endless spiral of abyss, pvp, nice characters, big world, all this stuff... the sad part is though, I put 200 hours into ToF just to realize that the game is like a skeleton with no real flesh, you literally get paywalled in the Bygone Phantasm and other endgame activities lmao. Now, i dont mind spending on a game especially a free one, but the predatory practices are PEAK and clear as day in ToF like no other gacha ive played yet. It had so much hype and it cannot stand up to genshin and DEFINETELY not HSR.. the game is essentially dead now even after a server merge.. I just see alot of similar gameplay loops and mechanics in WW that I know from ToF.. I hope that the game rises to the occasion and doesn't flop like ToF. Genshin / Honkai killer is seriously a stretch and disrespectful. You know the amount of numbers they'll have to do to TRULY be in the conversation with them? Many games learn this the hard way... We shall see. The game looks promising though
Understandable. Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic, but I fear that, on the one hand, people have too high expectations of all Genshin killers and, on the other hand, as of now, it would still take Azure Permille (pun intended) to really put financial pressure on Genshin. Nevertheless, I'm happy to finally have the opportunity to have a Genshin alternative to games, and if it even convinces me, the mint picker simulator will be thrown out until there is real improvement.
what killed tof the most is being mmo, p2w and multiple server honestly i couldn't even catch up to the dungeon runs because it's either nobody is doing it anymore or higher levels carry are one shotting everything ☹️
Agreed. ToF had a lot of potential due to superior exploration methods (mount, vehicle, relics, etc) along with combat mechanics (multiplayer version of pgr/honkai styled combat in an actual open world) and better customisation (costume, accesories etc) than what Genshin does I'd argue even on exploration side, finishing certain parts of area in ToF is somewhat more rewarding and satisfying, but its an subjective takes so bear no mind. The underwater part of ToF is so huge and deep it even stretches into the deepest layer of the trench (with lava and stuff), a sight so cool to behold. I guess I still like Genshin's desert more than ToF but, its still fun to explore. Certainly I like exploring Domain 9 more than other ToF's area though. Its pretty, rewarding, and fun to explore with all those relics and statue etc. Sadly they flops it real hard when it comes to the actual gameplay due to one of the worst powercreeping I've seen in gacha genre and their server latency (Harrah incident flashback). Paywalling the Bygone Phantasm is also one of the few reasons I stopped doing it every week and played very casually before eventually stopped. As lore and story enjoyer though, I do agree Genshin is way way way superior than ToF. Also ToF VA's and storytelling pales in comparison, although they kinda pick it up after Domain 9 patch, its still not enough. No disrespect to the VA's there but, I can't feel the emotions. Its just like they narrate the dialogues for me. Its sad because some of them were actually voicing in Genshin and other titles, and do decently well there. So idk how the sound directors decision to make them sounds like that. Also, I'd prefer events in ToF than Genshin most of the time because the gameplay is actually more fun imo, if you exclude those world boss event or anything related (And Halloween event or something I forgot). I kinda happy HSR got some of the fun events that I wanted from Genshin so it kinda alleviates my craving from ToF events. It kinda makes my decision to quit ToF faster as well.
i wonder if its f2p friendly in terms of in-game rewards? like the pity is a little less, weapon banner is a literal blessing, but does it give enough pulling currency?
There are a couple of warnings people must pay attention to, for the future of the game. If WW follows PGR example, then weapons would become almost character exclusive, meaning only few (1 or 2 if we are optimistic) characters can equip a specific type of weapon and the "set" effects in the pokemon could also become character exclusive later on (a tocar madera). To make it easier to understand, in PGR every time a new 5* character is realeased they also release a new weapons (6*, 5* and 4*) for that character; the thing is only that character can equip those weapons because they are a new type of weapon, imagine genshin releasing guns and only ganyu can equip that weapon. This also happens with the "artifacts", but its less restrictive because you can equip whatever u want BUT, the new set has specific buff for the new character skills and pasive's so the 4 piece effect is useless for other characters.
So.... basically how genshin is? New artifacts with set effects tailored to a new chara, weapons with stats and passives exclusive to the new characters
@dokutah2480 I forgot, sorry yall. No, it's better because, stats in said artifacts are fixed so you don't have to get a bajillion to get perfect stats. Now, the thing that they did to get you to invest in these was the ability to "fuse" them; by doing so you'll get bonuses that will help make your characters stronger but, of course, they are random. Still, the farming is way more bearable since you can just skip the event stages where you get the currency to buy the artifacts.
Actually now i also started wondering, how actually meta will work in wuthering waves? What will they make one dps character to be different from the other or even the bosses? Nothing really comes up to my mind about that other than making powercreeping characters and harder counterable bosses. Not knowing kinda scares, anybody have any thoughts or ideas for meta can be put in wuthering waves?
what i worry the most is optimization. for example mihoyo is infamous for bad optimization to the point that post honkai odyssey literally unplayable and some gamers with best gaming phone in the world like Asus ROG series still complaining about fps drop. i hope wuthering waves developer solved that issue and phone friendly.
the gear grind in this game is going to be horrendous... korean mmo level horrendous.... really makes me not want to play knowing how many hours im going to have to sink in daily just to be mid tier.
I laughed so much in the first 2 minutes of this video.. Really needed it.. I dont know whether I will like WW or not, but this video definitely gets my like x 100
4:39 ...was that a BG3 joke? Also, really looking forward to this game. Been playing PGR for years, and I'm happy for Kuro Games with how far they've come. 😊
No please, hope WuWa would give us a reasonable Rewards just like Honkai Star Rail. that way it might live up longer that genshin could do. And if it isn't then i can believe that this game will die sooner
The problem I had with Genshin is that the gap between 4 stars and 5 stars was so big. Yes, building contributes to how strong they can be but it's extremely time investing to do and requires luck. From what I'm seeing from WuWa, 4 stars can hold their ground that doesn't force you to get a 5 star team.
I wonder for how long it will be f2p friendly. Imo at the beginning every game is friendly , u get tons of free stuff, pulls, premium currency (farmable or direct send) but what will happen after months or when someone 100% their game? Are they going to stop be as friendly just like genshin where only few short events, abyss and opening 200 common chests with low primos (only when new area unlocked) is what left for endgame players or will they stay more generous like hsr where they give free 10 pulls for every new update (20 for anniversary), events with a lot of stellar jades, many modes where u can farm jades such as simulated universe, pure fiction, forgotten hall. Ig no one knows it yet. Gonna give it a try anyway tho there are few things i know i won't like
I kinda am noticing a pattern here whenever someone talk about this game, and I’ve scrolled through a lot for feedbacks and reviews in both reddit and youtube, and NON of them talk about the micro transactions aspect and the free-to-play’ability of the game, whereas those were the first thing that were usually brought up in a discussion between HSR and other gacha games. Since the game is relatively new, its only fair to compare it with other gachas’ states at launch too, which I find WuWa to be sort of lacking, again, might be too early to decide anyway.
DUDE. This is the first video from brax that I’ve seen in a WHILE. and let me tell you.. Brax has gotten SO good at content creation. from day one being a Jean main in genshin to covering gacha games as a whole. Real channel growth. The editing got so good too (I still miss the old amber theme remix drop though.. please bring it back). But im really glad to see how far he’s gotten with his content creation and his creator presence.
Can’t wait to see some go through as much as they can through the game with a lvl 1 character, boss fights are gonna be long for the people willing to play like that
It's compared due to it's similarities/hype/comparison to Genshin We haven't really had any large open world action gacha RPGS aside from Genshin, ToF was the closest we've had (despite being an MMO), so the comparison is to be expected
Wuthering Waves is probably going to be my first gacha game where I get sweaty. I've been chilling with 34 stars abyss in Genshin, and I rarely play Star Rail's endgame content. I'm going to use my puny brain and muscle memory to be as mechanically skilled as I can, while also being a free-to-play player. Absolute peak F2P gaming. So yeah, I'm quite excited with Wuthering Waves. _(The most I would pay is probably Genshin's equivalent of Welkin Moon.)_
Kurogames players are like soulsborne players. They are resilient hardcore motherfkers. And yes, at some point they'll attempt beating the hardest bosses with the basic characters.
Ngl still sceptical cause yes it has many feature that are better than geshin. The production rate for new patches might be longer or inconsistent. Another problem is that power creep and how they handle that.
Exactly along my thoughts. Seeing how they handle units in PGR, I'm actually a bit worried about powercreep. I hope newer characters don't necessarily replace old ones. Granted powercreep is inevitable in gachas. But I hope they push it, at least to a tolerable extent.
Powercreep and character design are the two things that make money for gacha companies....cuz if you had a great unit since the start, you don't even bother to pull for another character.... that's why gacha companies use drip marketing and powercreep type shits
@Penguin-nx5nc That's because there weren't any other options besides her. What about Nanamech? Sniper Bianca? Physical Alpha? Plume? Bride Liv? And most other units? Newer units replacing older units are a common occurrence in PGR. As soon as a newer option is available, the older units are considered 'weak'. Though I applaud them for pushing leap skills for older units, that doesn't really change the scenario. I might be exaggerating a bit, but that's the problem I have with PGR besides character exclusive weapons and memory sets. I love playing with Balter. But who knows when they'll introduce a new gen 3 physical attacker and suddenly Balter isn't able to clear the top contents anymore.
At the end for me it will depend how good the storylines are, because from sumeru genshin has pulled itself and has some amazing archon quests.lets wait and see.
I’m really excited for this game to come out!!!!!!! I tried playing genshin but I’m spoiled by PGR combat so I’m very excited to play something that is kind of a combination of both
Im way too invested in genshin's lore and story to delete and given how wuwa's first CBT story was so bad they had to revamp it i doubt they had much time to focus on world building and lore But my god the combat is fantastic i hope yhis game gives a major damage to genshin
that is why genshin make combat simple, they need to focus on open world and story, WW should just make like PGR focus only on combat, really dont think they can balance all things together
@@mygame-mg2vr tbh they could easily make genshin good by just giving people more endgame, it's so easy but for whatever reason they don't want to do it,

Wuthering Waves is looking to be pretty promising. I'm glad they've announced improvements to the echo system which was my biggest concern as well as Calcharo getting his Standsona at a baseline. Also, Jianxin and Lingyang buffs, let's go! Buffing standard 5 stars feels like a warm welcome.
I'm looking forward to playing WuWa, and I wish it and Kuro Game success in the future.

Just the editing in this video got me hooked and made me drop a like n sub... great work man
I so hope this doesn't end up like Tower of Fantasy...
The game looks promising though
now this is an opinion i like to see
Understandable.
Play punishing gray raven and make your decision
what killed tof the most is being mmo, p2w and multiple server
honestly i couldn't even catch up to the dungeon runs because it's either nobody is doing it anymore or higher levels carry are one shotting everything ☹️
Agreed. ToF had a lot of potential due to superior exploration methods (mount, vehicle, relics, etc) along with combat mechanics (multiplayer version of pgr/honkai styled combat in an actual open world) and better customisation (costume, accesories etc) than what Genshin does
I'd argue even on exploration side, finishing certain parts of area in ToF is somewhat more rewarding and satisfying, but its an subjective takes so bear no mind.
The fact that Genshin listened to the community's wants for the first time, and it was when this game came out is just
Not even sure I'm going to play this game, but this is a great edit and hilariously entertaining!

7:35 The sneaky feet zoom aint go unnoticed by me!

WuWa has so much potential for second era of “GENSHIN WOULD NEVER”
No please, hope WuWa would give us a reasonable Rewards just like Honkai Star Rail. that way it might live up longer that genshin could do. And if it isn't then i can believe that this game will die sooner
7:36 you thought we wouldn't notice
Brax I love you and the new content had been great, but if you dont release the gallagher guide imma lose my mind😂
The fact that I had a Genshin ad before the video is hilarious to me

We haven't really had any large open world action gacha RPGS aside from Genshin, ToF was the closest we've had (despite being an MMO), so the comparison is to be expected

You didn't convince me that the game is free to play friendly, but you did convince me to get many Yinling copies thanks Brax.
@@justsomeguywithgreenhair in pgr Rosetta have been meta for 3 years until recently
