I love sitting on my exercise ball. Changing positions frequently, rolling back and forth and side to side to stretch. I even sit on it to eat.

Absolutely, Gayle! Exercise balls encourage constant movement - they're great!

Love this! One question - the link you shared for the kneeling chair you used in the video does NOT have a back piece. Is there another link you can share that would have that back piece? That would be very important for me. Thank you!

Thanks for asking! For the Balans, the backrest has to be purchased seperately - here's the link: varierchairs.com/accessories/variable-padded-backrest/
And has a new version now with a nicer back rest - amzn.to/3Mu8I7A

Thanks, Yoni. Years ago I tried sitting in a kneeling chair & found that my knee area just below the joint became sore. So I stopped. Are the newer chairs better?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  11 месяцев назад

Good question, Deborah! Typically, when people get soreness along their shins after using a kneeling chair it's because they are not positioning themselves properly on the chair. The overwhelming majority of a persons bodyweight should be on the seat of the chair, not on the knees.

Hi Yoni, I've heard it's good to sit in a backless chair using your core muscles to keep you upright as you showed when you were sitting on the ground not using a back for support. But you said they've shown its not good. I'm sure you can explain it🥰 Thank you!

      Good question, Dee!
It's true that sitting on the floor or a backless chair does increase muscular activity while sitting (provided the person is actively holding themselves upright). However, sitting in positions like these does create a lot of rounding in the lumbar spine.

@painfixprotocol 💖 Thank you! If you have to sit in a regular straight backed chair, how can you keep from rounding your spine? Does placing a towel in that curve work or does placing a back pillow higher and scooting your bum to the chair to keep the curve work better?

Thank you for sharing! Do you have your opinion about the saddle chair?

Being a horse rider, I thought a saddle chair would be great but I really dislike it. just my opinion of course.

      Great question, Lenda!
I've seen research showing very positive effects on overall posture using a saddle chair - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22349969/. I have some concerns about pressure in the groin.

@@painfixprotocol Thank you for the reference. Sitting seems to have its impact even on some heavenly cloud seat, more or less :) But when I have to sit, then in 9 out of 10 cases I choose Finnish width-adjustable saddle seat with casters and instability functions (tilt and swing).

@@gaylebarnett9219 It makes perfect sense, when you sit on the saddle anyway.
      1) Balance movement and rest. 2) Diversify and vary.

I stand when I type. Many years ago I used to use a kneeling chair except that it did not have a rocker. Then I switched to standing. I don't stand still though, but move, sometimes with music. I sit as little as possible it's very uncomfortable to me.

I just checked, and the brand of kneeling chair you use is between $700-$1000 in Canada!! Yikes!! 😳 I will have to research the more affordable brands to see what i can get.

There are less expensive options available. If you find a good one, please share the information on this thread. Cheers!
