    Ya know, I don’t think I’ve heard anyone mention the importance of the synergy between these different things you’re talking about. And it makes sense, because these do work together. Normally I just focus on one of these so you helped motivate me to work on several of these things at the same time.

    Thank you for such helpful content, Julia! But for some reason, I'm always worrying about what not to do, haha! I mean, there's a lot of content out there about what to do, but do you have any tips on mistakes we should avoid? That'll be such a great help! Thank you so much!

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there, thank you so much! I totally understand where you’re coming from. Here are some common mistakes that Shopify beginners should avoid:
      1. Ignoring Shipping Costs:
      Mistake: Forgetting to consider shipping costs when setting product prices.
      Tip: Factor in shipping expenses to avoid surprises for you and your customers. This a strategy that can help you reduce cart abandonment.
      2. Neglecting Mobile Optimization:
      Mistake: Not making sure your store looks good and works well on mobile devices.
      Tip: Test your store on different devices to ensure a smooth experience for mobile users.
      3. Overcomplicating Store Design:
      Mistake: Making your store design too complex or cluttered.
      Tip: Keep it simple and easy to navigate. Focus on a clean layout.
      4. Ignoring SEO Basics:
      Mistake: Neglecting search engine optimization (SEO) for your product pages.
      Tip: Use relevant keywords in product titles and descriptions to help people find your store on search engines! It’s a free way to drive targeted traffic to your store.
      5. Ignoring Analytics:
      Mistake: Not paying attention to data and analytics.
      Tip: Use Shopify analytics to understand what's working and adjust your strategy accordingly.
      6. Underestimating Product Descriptions:
      Mistake: Having weak or unclear product descriptions.
      Tip: Write detailed and compelling descriptions to help customers understand and choose your products.
      7. Ignoring Legal Requirements:
      Mistake: Neglecting legal aspects like privacy policies and terms of service.
      Tip: Ensure you enable the mandatory policies in the Shopify settings, so that your store complies with legal requirements.
      8. Ignoring Customer Reviews:
      Mistake: Not enabling, encouraging or responding to customer reviews.
      Tip: If suitable for your store, allow customers to write reviews, and respond politely to build trust and credibility.
      9. Ignoring Page Load Speed:
      Mistake: Installing too many Shopify apps can slow down store speed.
      Tip: Be selective about which apps to install.
      10. Competitive pricing
      Mistake: Setting prices too high (not competitive) or too low (low profits).
      Tip: Research your competitors to see what works and choose products that will give a good margin.
      11. Offers
      Mistake: Not creating any sort of offer, which typically makes it harder to sell
      Tip: Create exciting offers like Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, etc
      Remember, learning from mistakes is a part of the process. Stay open to feedback, adapt your strategy, and keep improving your Shopify store over time. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know! Thanks for watching :)

    I’m kinda a Shopify newbie :) Could you please make a video on how to find profitable products? Like if I wanted to do an online sunglasses store, could you show us how you’d go about finding products for a store like that?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! Welcome to the Shopify Success community :) That's a great video recommendation, I'll definitely consider it for one of the next tutorials!
      Depending on your fulfillment method, there are different ways for you to source your products. If you are doing self-fulfillment, you'll need to research for a suitable place where you can buy stock in bulk. Otherwise, if you are dropshipping, I recommend checking out Zendrop! They are amazing dropshipping suppliers, and if the product you want to sell isn’t on their platform, you can submit a request and they will source any product for you within one day. Here's a link: zendrop.sjv.io/75BEDd
      I also recommend using a tool called Pipiads to find profitable products. It allows you to spy on existing TikTok ads to see what's been selling a good volume. Here's a link in case helpful: bit.ly/3GPD69m

    Hey Julia! I just had one quick question: how do you know you’ve picked the correct pain points for your audience?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! Choosing the right pain points for your audience takes researching, and then testing. It involves checking if your understanding matches their real problems. First, look at how people react to your product or solution-positive comments, sales going up, and customers saying your product helped them are good signs. Second, keep an eye on what people are talking about online and see if their discussions match the issues you've identified. If your product is genuinely solving problems, you should see positive signals in customer responses and actions.
      Stay open to feedback and be ready to adjust. Sometimes, what you think is a pain point might need tweaking based on what your customers are saying or doing. Regularly check in with your audience, adapt to their needs, and keep improving your understanding of their challenges. It's an ongoing process of learning and refining.

    Hey Julia, I've been thinking about venturing into the Shopify business for a while now. I see that you talked about creating a strong image of your product but what if I had more of an "everything store" in mind, one that doesn't necessarily focus on one product? Would you recommend doing that or any tips and tricks that'll help along the way? Thank you so much!

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! Nice to hear you've been interested in Shopify! Yes, creating a strong image of your product is very important. If you are selling more than one product, creating strong images of your products is still very important. Your visuals, including your product images, are major decision factors for your potential customers. The more you can present your products in a way that connects with the audience visually, the more it's going likely to sell. If you are selling multiple products, also consider how your visuals look in relation to one another, so as to create a harmonious and coherent vibe across your catalog. Visual consistency is important :) Treat your catalog as an artist's mood board! You're welcome & thanks for watching! :)

    When you’re creating a profitable offer, is there a minimum profit margin you’d say we should want to have for our products? Like ideally we’d want to have at least a 50% or 100% markup? Thanks for making this video!

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! As a beginner Shopify user, I recommend you aim for a reasonable profit margin that covers your costs and provides a profit without overpricing your products. While there's no fixed rule, a markup of 50% or higher is often considered a good starting point for many businesses. Here are some considerations:
      1. Cover Costs: Ensure that your selling price covers product costs, Shopify fees, shipping expenses, and other associated costs.
      2. Competitive Pricing: Research competitor prices and aim to position your products competitively within your market.
      3. Value Perception: Consider the perceived value of your products. If your products offer unique features or high quality, you may be able to justify a higher markup.
      4. Incremental Approach: If you're unsure, consider starting with a moderate markup and monitor your sales and customer response. You can adjust your pricing based on real-world feedback.
      5. Promotions and Discounts: Plan for occasional promotions or discounts, but ensure that your regular prices allow for these promotions without compromising your overall profitability.
      For a beginner, it's essential to find a balance between attracting customers with competitive prices and ensuring your business remains financially sustainable. Regularly assess your costs, monitor sales performance, and be willing to adjust your pricing strategy as needed. As you gain more experience and insights into your market, you can refine your pricing approach accordingly.

    Hey Julia, question about creating a strong offer for a product. If I have 50 products in my online store, do I need to create a strong offer for each of those products? Or am I being selective about which products I would do this with?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! This can depend on various factors such as the nature of the products, your target audience, and your overall marketing strategy. You could create very strong offers like for example limited time offers, buy 2 get 1 free, and big discounts for products that you are running ads and driving traffic to. Additionally, having some higher-priced items in your store creates contrast, making the deals appear even more irresistible to your customers.
      Ultimately, a balanced approach may be effective. Focus on creating strong offers for key products while ensuring that your entire product range contributes to a cohesive and appealing store. Regularly review and adjust your strategy based on performance data and changing market trends.
      Hope this clarifies it. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!

  • @RachelMadeline801

    This was really helpful but I had a clarifying question. With your marketing angle example of an ‘eco-friendly’ shoe, would the pain point you’re addressing be that you’re selling a shoe that is friendlier to the environment, so this is solving the pain problem someone might have of feeling like they’re hurting the environment when they buy a product?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey! Yes, exactly. The pain point, in this case, is the consumer's concern about contributing to environmental degradation when purchasing and using products like shoes.
      By offering an eco-friendly alternative, you are providing a solution to this pain point.
      The marketing angle revolves around emphasizing the positive environmental aspects of the product - it's made from sustainable materials, has a smaller carbon footprint, or uses ethical manufacturing practices. This approach appeals to environmentally conscious consumers who are actively seeking ways to reduce their impact on the planet.
      Understanding and addressing consumer pain points is a fundamental aspect of effective marketing. By aligning your product with solutions to these concerns, you not only meet customer needs but also differentiate your offering in the market.
      If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask :) Thanks for watching!

    When it comes to curating the ideal offer, do you think we should keep a lower limit that we should retain at every deal? Or is it okay to wing it sometimes?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey! When making deals, it's smart to set a kind of "lowest acceptable profit" to make sure you're not losing money. Think of it as a safety net for your business. While it's good to be flexible with your offers, having this safety net helps you stay in the game without going negative. Consider all the costs, try different offers, and be careful not to give too many big discounts, so that people still see the value in your products. Being smart about this balance keeps your business healthy. So definitely have a bottom line for profits, but also be open to adjusting things based on what's happening in the market and the data you gather in your anaylitcs.

    When you were talking about, making sure there is high enough demand for a product, what’s the best way to figure that out? Like is there a metric you go by? Great video btw!

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  8 месяцев назад

      Hey there, Thank you! There are many ways of knowing if there is high demand for a product. Some of them are:
      1. Use tools like Google Trends, which can provide insights into the popularity of a product over time.
      2. Explore marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Aliexpress to see if similar products are selling well.
      3. Conduct keyword research using tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush or Ahrefs to understand the search volume for relevant terms related to your product.
      4. Look for relevant hashtags, comments, and discussions on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
      Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask :) Thanks for watching!

      Hey there! Yes, you need to pay the supplier for the product after someone buys it on your Shopify store, but you only pay for the product supply cost after you’ve already sold it on Shopify! So it’s 100% risk-free because your customer is covering that cost, and there’s no need to pay upfront.

      Hey there! Congratulations on your first 2 sales, that's an amazing accomplishment! It shows you have something very important: proof of concept. Now knowing that you are selling the right product, to bring in more sales, I recommend you carefully go over and check through each aspect mentioned in this video, especially your offer. If you've got all that figured out, then I recommend you start driving more traffic to your store. You could use free methods like SEO and content marketing, or paid methods like Google Ads, TikTok Ads, Facebook & Instagram Ads. I also recommend you analyze your conversion data to better understand where these sales came from, so that you can learn more about how people are being funneled into the purchase, and then amplify on that. If you have any questions or need any more clarification, feel free to let me know! Thanks for watching :)
