I like how you can build roads among the trees without clearing the entire forest. It's aesthetically pleasing and more immersive, especially from "street view".
With the new update I found, depending on difficulty level, getting the granary/storage up almost immediatedly vital to prevent food spoilage/ supply loss and shortages. Also, fish turns out to be a wealth goldmine, way better than starting with berries. And the fish upgrade should probably the first one on your list as its wealth opens up a whole of foot variety from your burgage plots, vital for keeping approval high.
Looking forward to see your game progress in the future. This has always been one of my favourite games ☺ You got pretty lucky with your area. I see a bright future ahead!
This game takes a lot more time to construct building and to advance your progress and I’m absolutely fine with that, I don’t like much how some games enable you to instantly build things, this game gives you the time to think about what you are doing giving you more time to plan the setup of your village and time to appreciate the beauty of the game and not rushing around all the time trying to keep up with the next demand for things that need to be done
If you like that idea give Workers and Resourcers: Soviet Republic a try, you literally have to make the materials, import them if you can't make them, transport them to the construction site, get workers to the site too, and have the machinery to build it. It's a whole logistics operation
I really like how you try to make it look natural and nice. Though the actions are far away from optimal. Families and money are coming super late. Need to buy an ox and go fishing right away, taking a perk for rich animals asap and then the second perk for fishing before March. However the game is not about minmaxing. Your attention to aestethics is more important imho.
Something happened to this game and it went to very contrast and harsh looking lighting now. It was so much better when it first came out. This look like a spot light rather than a sunlight scenario. Now I don't find it pleasant to look at.
You having them running all over the map is not the best design. fishing camp. Build it far from the Lake. Now they have to run back and forth. Storage on the other side. They have to run back to the camp and get the stuff. Now the storage. Market place miles from that. Again, running back and forth. Fun watch at always. But Manor Lords doesn't play like ANNO 1800 where it doesn't matter how spread-out things are or how poor the layout it. Manor Lords that matters. They have to walk there. In ANNO 1800 they never walk anywhere. Every builder game can't be played like ANNO 1800. Yes, this is a builder but nothing like ANNO 1800 in how things work overall.
What you say makes sense but is still wrong in my city planning. Like storage. The granary is there for a reason. It's close to hunting and especially the heavy labour farming. You don't want to build multiple granaries as it will consume workers. So the placement fishing granary makes total sense right now. Storage also makes sense as it is in the middle of the future industry zone and will be central to all production buildings. So it'll all make sense long term wise for the sake of "some" efficiency right now.
This let's play is gonna be fun
