- Accurascale’s latest OO gauge locomotive offering, mine and Luna’s(my cat) favourite loco the mighty Class 37.
Of course as expected they have excelled themselves once again and created the very best ready to run OO gauge model out the box. I’m in no way qualified to give a review but I’ll post some hopefully fun and interesting videos of it instead.
This is a short video riding behind the loco with a short set of Network rail coaches and Bachmann’s amazing DBSO.
Filmed on the wonderful Culm valley model railway club’s Tiverton Junction layout.
The sound reverberating in the tunnels is particularly satisfying.
Tiny junction look fab
As it always does.
Really nice layout. First time I have seen it - just subscribed! Does the main station take inspiration from Totnes? It reminds me of it. Very nice, plus of course the Accurathrash Class 37! 37025,remember seeing that at Exeter in the 90's on Meldon Ballast workings-never expected to see it there. Fast forward and its still plying its trade in the South West.
Thank you, it’s actually based on Tiverton Junction from the 60s, it’s a club layout that belongs to the culm valley model railway club, not sure if you’re local but worth checking out if you are.
Accurascale have done a mega job with the 37s easily my new favourite model, the sound is great too, not sure if I prefer it to the Legomanbiffo with EM2 speaker 37 sound but it’s still mega.
I sadly never saw the Meldon ballast workings but I did frequently see 37s in various guises on the Cornish clay and Exeter Scrap.
@@LamboJon Hi, yes and 33's before them - showing my age now. Never lived in Devon, just holidays as a child. Only been past Tiverton on M5. Certainly screams Great Western - and certain similarities to Totnes hence queried the possible inspiration - through roads, platform signal box, fuel sidings where the dairy was. Accurascale 37 is excellent, got a 423 with sound myself and waiting for DRS Compass pair of 37/6 with sound to which I have a rake of awaiting wagons! Not got a Biffo sound Class 37 - perhaps a comparison video for you? My favourite sound locomotive personally is the Hattons 66 - Biffo did the sound for that. It drives like a 66 even on a Hornby Elite, sounds like a 66 and is the smoothest and slowest running OO locomotive that I have! (That reminds me, I still need to upload a video of it to RUclips for someone {not tech savvy, so been avoiding it!}), but I don't have anything else that matches its running qualities and I enjoy driving it!
Get see some 33s down here end of the month, looking forward to that.
Great western always seem very uninformed and same across all stations, all seem very familiar no matter where you are almost.
I too have the DRS 37/6s on order plus the Europhoenix rail ops ones too, plus Colas 116 for next year.
I’ll do a comparison video of the Biffo with EM2 speaker and the Accurathrash in future, the bass of the biffo and EM2 is another level but the quality of sound on the Accurathrash just has it pipped(my loco and sound file for biffo are quite old now however)
I too have couple Hattons 66s, they do sound mega and have the EM2 speaker as well. I see Accurascale have bought tooling for the Hattons 66 as well, be keen to see how they improve it in future, not sure they can bar the rotating axle boxes.
