Thank you, although I'm a serious modeller, I'm am basically a 52 Year old child who just likes to make people laugh, so my videos will always have a light hearted feel to them in some places...I'm no proffesional presenter but people do enjoy my style of video....many thanks 😊
You had nothing to worry about on body removal! The tweaks Accy have done are all positive! Firstly body removal so fine now, the steps etc are part of the body and body removal is easy! The sound is er well the best ever, Accurascale have nailed it, the Hattons was good sound but too bass for me, oh nearly forgot axle boxes dont fall off anymore! A great review from you and a new subscriber, enjoyed cheers Nick. I assure you, you will be impressed, i know got the first one a fortnight ago 66001,cheers Nick Redshed 66077.
Thanks for the reassuring words, I have 7 Hattons Class 66s..I really love them over the Bachmann model of which i will phase out ...66151 in DB arrived from Accurascale this Aftenoon after I filmed this video....
John, I am certain your Class 66 is missing one rivet somewhere so I will whine like a little b*tch. WAAH! WAAH! Just kidding! Love the track details. I enjoy your humor immensely. Happy rails from the USA!
Great video mate 👍🏻 I believe that Accurascale have modified things to make the body removal easier, I've cheated with a DCC fitted version (or 2 😉) and will be unboxing my first one later today (Sunday 9th)... Keep up the great work old chap....😊
Great review. Got mines the other day. Just got email from rails that climate hero payment has been taken. The body removal is a lot easier than the hattons one. Mines came off OK and went on OK. No issues. Just the normal slow and steady. But I'm sure you know that. Haha.
I got 66001 in ews, the body is very easy to remove. All the "delicate" bits have been attached differently to the Hattons original. I'm not the most careful, all thumbs 😂, and I didn't break anything on it 😁 Class 57 with the updated lighting looks superb. Happy modelling ❤
Some will never haul trains, so they will be detailed at both ends and will will run light engine in and out of Junction Road stabling sidings...some locos have wire loops fitted to pull wagons of coaches
Couldn’t agree MORE about the lights and when they work. Ideally I think they should come on as soon as the wheels make contact with live rails as you say. It would be great if we could have our DC locos, standing stationary with lights still on. Not a dynamo style system. PLEASE manufacturer’s can we sort this out for all us DC’rs??
It's a shame, it's the only thing letting the model down, we are not all DCC modellers, way back when Hornby released the Class 60, the LED lights are bright before the model actually moves...that was 20 Years ago...I have two depots on the layout so all my Hattons/Accurascale class 66s will move slowly with no lights....damn shame....yes, it does need addressing...o like the term 'Dynamo' because that's exactly what it is....regards, John
It's not really possible tho - DCC has stay alive, and while you can make for DC they are only useful on coaches, etc where you don't also need control, it's a catch 22 with DCC designed models
Just noseying these locs! Looking brilliant.
They really are nice locs from Rusty Rails Modelling...so I'm replacing them with all my older Locs...the detailing on them is superb 👌
Great entertaining update John! Chandler has done a terrific job on the 57’s lights and a great addition with the Accurascale 66 😃👍 cheers Darrell

Thanks very much for the full tour and video, you’re absolutely correct some of us are newbies! Superb track detailing. 👍
Looking good John!
I've moved away from the modern image side of modelling now, but of course the new 66 is splendid!

Do all of your locos haul stock? Apart of course from the ones that are stored/ withdrawn?
