Newcomer to the channel. The layout looks excellent, I'm not a modeller, I'd bust everything and DIY, I'm like Reg Prescott off the Kenny Everett show, but I do love watching you guys do your stuff, on the layouts and with the locos. You've certainly got an impressive collection of locos there. As a lover of a 37 and an even bigger 47 fan. My eyes went as wide as saucers, when 37609 and 47712 appeared. Theres some excellent pics online from the good ole days, when 47712 was on the push pulls, so I look forward to the video, seeing that beast weathered. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to the next installment.
Hello John, great informative video and very amusing, so good to have someone bring out the fun side of our hobby. Now not wishing to spread doom and gloom after my above comment I have a big problem with my hands and about six months ago I found it impossible to clean my track by hand. I have for 20 years cleaned my track manually using cloth and meths and after finding everyone raving about InoxMX3 as a track cleaner I tried it and boy does it work. I haven't cleaned my track manually for 6 months I just use CMX track cleaner wagon with Inox MX3 on the pad. As you have a bad back maybe this info might help. One other thing if your Accurascale 37 starts varying its speed, its the motor!. I am also a dedicated DC analogue only dinosaur and the lights on locos really bugs me, all the expensive Hornby loco lights work at very low speeds as do Dapol and now Heljan latest locos. Bachmann early loco were nice and bright but now although they come on at low speed, Bachmann have chosen to make them dim. Cheers from cheerful? Bill.
Smashing Vid John and I am older than you. buddy However the advice I was given from my local shop is when I start the new layout is to go DCC. Otherwise and I think he is right you will get left behind as more and more features will be geared for DCC .Oddly enough he told me to stick to code 100 for the track
Thanks for the extra vid John, really enjoyed it mate. Lovely haul you’ve acquired…. Cracking double attenders…. Up there with your best….. it makes things so much more enjoyable .. would you be able to do a show us how to set up dc lighting system on a layout…. How ou did yours from scratch ?…. Cheers n beers from all the lads down The Felchers Arms….😂
Hi, great video content, I do love a DB Schenker red livery loco, I have Bachmann & Hatton’s class 66 locomotives, I would like to see a BR blue large logo Accurascale class 66, hopefully the second run will have a livery I would like to have.
The Hornby class 60 is a great model to this day along with their class 56, I do have a Cavalex class 56 which I think is a superb model as well, I’m looking forward to the next generation Bachmann class 08 which will be with us next Easter, I forgot have you made room for the new EFE rail 12 ton crane due out at the end of this month?
Hi Harold Road, I have just finished watching your latest video. I have the SVR 66 from Accurascale like you and I think it's cracking model. I have the DCC version and have been blown away. I would like another 66 from Accurascale and have spied a DRS one but it's DC, I know that Accurascale are bringing out speakers and chips for them in the future so that might be worth a look. However, it will start to get wallet busting. I noticed you have Bachmann 66s which like you I have one. They are good models and have stood the test of time. I was wondering what you think it's a fair price for a second hand one? I live in Shropshire so we have a lot of Freight liner, GBRF and DRS locos running about. Thanks Tim.
66167/66763 came from Rails Of Sheffield...next day delivery...and 66415 came direct from Accurascale...again next day delivery...Rainbow can take a while sometimes
