  • 3 liveries in 1 delivery of class 66 types of diesel from Canada. Since I retired in 1999 I've recorded almost all shipments to Newport including all the 67s ( plus extra cabs ) and the 1st 2 class 70s.
    Plus the export of 58s, this is quite an exclusive archive on video. Last 66779 received in 2016.see the clips and naming now.

    Thanks for your support, sorry I don't know your name, but I feel if I have all these videos ( over 600 hours ) if I have time I may as well share them. I have been fortunate to be given access to all the deliveries at Newport ( knowing the right people !) and other rail related events. Being of a certain age appears to help as they know I won't run around out of control !
    Thanks for your support.....................Mike now in my 72nd year.

    15 to 20 years ago, mid 1990s, one of a similar style of locomotive was loaded at the London Ontario aeroport, onto an Antonov aircraft and flown to Eire. It arrived two weeks prior to its sisters. In that time the bugs in the locomotive were ironed out prior to the others arriving.

      Those were the day when I had permission to video at the docks. Towards the end of deliveries, it became too crowded with photographers so strict limits on numbers were introduced. I was one of the lucky ones; maybe due to starting back in 1998!!

    I would think so. I'll check some of my other tapes which might illustrate this better. This final lift was after the DRS and F/Liners were unloaded from the top deck which is then removed and floated in the dock adjacent to the boat. Some of them have a double skin and water is used as a counter balance when the load is swung over the side, ( as you will note the crane is onboard ).Contact me direct if you want a 100 min dvd from my private library. Mike W.

    37 was the pilot to move the locos once they had landed, as they travel without fuel and sand in the boxes. All this was recorded in the days I was there but too long for YT I think.............more to come from the docks on early 2000 etc

      I've been fortunate enough to have quite a few friends at the docks who in turn give me notice of arrivals and access to safe viewing points. Also retiring 20 years ago gives me time " to be there "

    I have seen a fair few class 70's in Royal Seaforth Dock so it's possible future shipments are going to be in Liverpool or the workload shared? Just wanted to say great video Mike

    fantastic footage! great to watch!
    Feel a little uneasy seeing workers under the loco at 8:00 for obvisous reasons using their own man power to rotate and line up.
    What was the 37 needed for?

    Sad those jobs left here for Mexico

    • @chrisdpom9390
      @chrisdpom9390 2 года назад

      which jobs? The locos are built in the USA & Canada, not Mexico

    • @jamesburnside3023
      @jamesburnside3023 2 года назад

      Wages were the problem but eventually, they would have left just like most American car production did for Mexico cheaper place to do business. Wages and employment standards.
