I did not know you can basically only get one mutation in a server! Many thanks, and many hours of grinding in 1 server saved.

Good to know this still works! However, do not forget to equip or unequip Starch Genes when you need to! I got Speed Demon taken away because I forgot to check one instance. This farming method saves a ton of caps but at the expense of a ton of your real time, especially if you screw up lol.

Dude, I spent hours walking in and out of a nuclear zone chugging radaway because i accidentally got rid of healing factor. Had no idea there was a soft limit to how many mutations you get per server

as an alternative to starched genes drinking nuka cola grape, which you can buy from the nuka cola vendor in white springs, removes radiation without having a chance of removing mutations (I think)
Yeah it doesnt remove it or it has a lower chance

Very helpful guide, ive been farming it for about 6 house now its driving me insane trying to get the right setup. And a bit of advice you can use radaway to try and snipe out the bad mutation you dont want. Better than restarting from zero
(Edit) Don't waste your time guys it's not worth farming for 8 hours to get nothing. just get a decent mutation and call it a day
You can snipe a single mutation? I mean, you can avoid loosing all of them?

I have tried 14 times to get mutated but i cant get anything at all, and i dont have starched genes on when im doing it. maybe you cant do this after the new update?
I hope they didn't get rid of this... it's not even an exploit.. getting exposed to a massive amount of radiation is literally a way to cause mutations. Bethesda continues to disappoint me 😢
@@jayaywhy3039 Yeah, i tried a few times again tonight, but nothing, do i need to go out, and log on again everytime i try? coz after so many tryes it feels like im doing somthing wrong, or got somthing on me that prevents me from getting a mtation.
@@mockahilly for me I had to server hop every time I got mutated. Not after a failed attempt. It wouldn't surprise me if they got rid of this to push players to buy the serums... which is ridiculous in my opinion.

Thank you for watching. I looked into the patch notes from the recent update, and they didn't mention removing this feature from what I can see. I really hope it works out for you!

So you have to have Strched Genes unequipped to gain a Mutation?
Yes. It prevents you from gaining a new mutation and losing a mutation.
I got marsupial on mistake lol from fighting a ghoul.. I want more mutations but I don't want to lose marsupial so what can I do im level 50
Everything looks more like a headache then being fun lol
Very late and you probably already know by now but max out the Starched Genes perk in Luck, equip it to use radaway with no chance of losing your mutations and unequip it to continue gaining mutations

im at level 34 and i still don't have starched genes how can i get it
you should have unlocked it at lvl 30 are you putting your points in luck?
i am gaining no mutations, only empath one time and nothing now
You have to jump servers, quit to menu and reload, you get only get one per hour on the same server

you've probably found it by now, but iirc just to the right of the Mall.
Can u get all the mutations?
You can get more than one however am currently testing by doing the following:
1) Get mutation
2) Apply Starched genes
3) Clean radiation
4) Jump to a new server
5) Take starched genes off
6) Get new mutation
Will update with results
Annnnd it works, currently having healing factor and unstable isotope!

I believe so, but it is much more efficient just to buy them from player vendors.
It does still work as of march 1 2024 but if you have the caps just buy serum

i've owned the game since launch, dropped it two days in as A LOT of people did, and only coming back now, no, i knew nothing of this..
you're talking shit mate, just because you know something doesn't mean the worlds clued in too.. most people are made to believe Radiation = bad, in life, in the game, everywhere, so why would anyone assume a mutation would be a good thing, if they even work out that rads cause mutations in the first place, just because something might be said to happen in the real world, doesn't mean they coded it into a game, and any mutation you'd get from real life radiation would be more akin to a child of incest parents than the borderline xmen shit we see in Fallout.
