- Here is another video packed with the latest in AR & VR News. We are going to begin this one by talking about some sad news for Quest 1 owners as the device is going to be losing support for Beat Saber in November of this year. There is some good news for Beat Saber owners though as the game is now also crossbuy, allowing you to play it on PCVR if you own a Quest 1 without having to rebuy the game. We also have news on Quest 2 support moving forward as Andrew Bosworth is telling us the device will continue to receive support for a good while longer which is fantastic, another little something that's fantastic is Apple making it easier to find apps and games for the Vision Pro outside the headset. As well as all of this Five Nights At Freddies Help Wanted 2 is coming to Quest today and some fantastic news for MR, as major automakers are embracing the technology! I hope you enjoy this one :D

I think it would be awesome if you could do a tutorial for moding Beat Saver PCVR version since a lot of people just got it.
Not surprising they're starting to strip features from quest 1 in beat saber.
Still rocking a quest 1, connected to a pc is still working same as always.
If they ever decide to disable the link, that's when ima be pissed.
@@technolus5742 they wont, Meta has stopped updating the quest 1, so it wont ever lose link support headset side, and PC side if the software ever stops supporting quest 1 you can always install an older version of the software (or use ALVR for use with a cable instead)

Crossbuy is huge, because people who own the steam version can still download the oculus version. Essentially giving you a modded copy, and a vinilla copy, without having to fight your mods everytime you want to switch between the two. Now I can enjoy all my bought packs on my quest and still play mods!
You confuse the steam version with the Oculus version. I don't think that you can get the steamversion as crossbuy. The Oculus version is ment by this.

@@StrippedBirch explain. I have three versions of Beatsaber. Only the Oculus and Quest version can play eachothers songs. For the Steam version you need(ed) to buy the songs seperate. Now you say the Steam version is cross buy. I don't think so.

@@SjaakSchulteis yeah I know the steam version isn't crossbuy, im saying if you bought the steam version of beat saber before crossbuy was a thing because you migrated to pcvr, now you can download the oculus version too without having to pay for both, giving you two copies. Mod the steam version and play with mods, and then unmod the oculus version because you can still use your packs on the oculus version, and switch between the two depending if you want to play modded or vanilla
Quest 2 is still a capable device only a few games show off the graphical capabilities of the device
It would be nice to have something like that so you can look at your vehicle while you're repairing it and see where everything goes and not have to worry about putting something in the wrong spot just another level to repair and maintenance not excluding the fact that it is very nice to be able to see a fully built truck from the ground up or car versus just looking at the car
I have a q2 but I actually use my q1 still to use outside my house.
never cared about beat saber, I am a synth rider's person, and SR works fine along with pistol whip on the q1 if you don't care about MP.
Meta should give us root on the q1 so we can mod it when they fully drop it.
Well I have a Quest 3, but thanks for the info that the Quest 2 is not going away and still be supported. But will new games still be developed and steered more toward the Quest 3 only??
I guess time shall tell what kind of support the Quest 2 will continue to receive.

I have three versions of Beat Saber: the Steam version, Oculus and stand alone. Paid for all of them. The good thing about the Oculus version was that songs purchased on my Quest were already crossbuy and the Oculus version (like the Steam version) has an extra folder for custom songs. The Oculus version has the best of both worlds.

Maybe they graphics will finally improve for the quest 2/3 in beat saber. Because right now it's still really behind the desktop version

i still use my quest 1 for everything. i love my OLED screens. i also play beat saber alot. i dont really multiplayer on it though... as long as i can still play and download my purchases. at least until i can actually purchase an upgrade.

Wow so happy that the support of the quest 1 has been so great 5 years for a headset that cost only €500 .
I understand that new games are not coming anymore 👍.
I think it's time to make quest 1 realy standalone so no online activation requirements are needed to use it in the future.
And the developer mode exceseble for anyone so its not becoming E-waste after only 6 years
Crossversion multiplayer is a complicated thing to implement. I don't think there's that many modders on quest 1 for there to be a cross-version multiplayer mod, (especially because you would need servers to coordinate everything)
My team overlays a digital model over a full size clay model in MR. That way we don't have to ruin the clay by painting it, we can make the Digital model any colour we like as with a car configuratior like when you buy a car, and the best part is that we can actually touch the clay model, but we see the Digital model.
What headset do you use. Do you do your own space processing

Yes it will still be "supported" but I dont think that means future games will continue to be on there for much longer though. Just cause it'll still be supported doesnt mean devs will port it to the Q2

Quest 1 Owner checking in. As long as we still get to play it local, I am good to go.
As long as you can still play, Beat Saber is fine. If you can't play new music fine. Issue is what is stopping them from forcing consumers to buy a quest 3. I mainly game on pc, so i dont want to buy as many games in the quest platform. They can take away your products.
I think you'd be surprised how many Q1 owners there still are out there. For me the Q2 IPD was too small and I do love the OLED.

No. Saying something doesn’t immediately make it true. It is not standard practice for consumer electronics to have a best before date. That is a recent development that should not be so easily accepted as par for the course. Because that course has been manipulated by the player who benefits the most. Apple. Meta. Google. Microsoft. We are so accustomed to it because we want the shiny widget that the manufacturer claims is out of reach and limited by the architecture or chip or software. Funny then how suddenly the improvements being made to the Quest 2 are happening now. Why not on release? Hmmm. So many layers. M

People don't understand that if they can pull this off on the Q1 with nobody complaining, they can keep removing games in the future for the Q2... and keep going. If you buy a game, you should be able to play it your entire life, not for a couple of years.
The same thing happens with regular flat games, like the Crew.

Quest 1 is sorta Oculus' Wii U. It was a testing ground for what they could do before they really did what they wanted.
