I was there and such a wonderful surprise to have him join the fantastic line up of stars there to honor Quincy!! He sang this and HAPPY BIRTHDAY - priceless!
A BIG SUPER-HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Q - you’re d’ man. . . . the Dude. A masterful performance from Mr Wonder . . and a bringing together of amazing musicians and singers. Greg Philinganes on keys, a brilliant musician and very very funny man. I can only imagine the laughter that he and Stevie would have shared over the years. If I’m not mistaken (maybe someone could help me out with a reply) I think that’s Julian Buckley conducting. Whoever it was. . . Wow.. what an honour to have bestowed upon you . Big love and thanks to Quincy Jones for the incredible music he has given to us. I’d heard the tune ‘Stuff Like That’ on the radio when I was 13, so bought the album Sounds and Stuff Like That . . my intro to Q, I was amazed by the artists involved with the album, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Chan, Nick Ashford & Val Simpson, James Ingram to name but few. And Stevie’s Superwoman (part 2) was on the album, the vocal arrangement is so beautiful and recording very special (thanks to Bruce Swedien) as is both sides of that fine 12” vinyl disc. P E A C E : )
Amazing song, what makes me sad about this performance is that it's with songs like this one that you really hear how Stevie's lower notes did not sound good anymore after the 70s. Interestingly enough, he got better at hitting very high notes, but progressively got worse at going low and his voice lost more and more of its richness. Try to listen to the 1972 album version, or even a live version from that time, and compare it to this one. It is very sad to hear his gradual voice deterioration. He will always remain a legend, though.
I was there!! A total surprise and a highlight 🙏💯

My favorite song on Talking Book!
I've always wanted to hear Stevie's voice over Quincy's orchestral arrangement of this.
THE GOAT 🐐
So happy to see him performing as the genius he has been for so many years. ❤
Incredible
Not bad for a new, upcoming star!!! Great concert!!
fantastic this song is from his 1972 album
Stevieeee your musicality is in such good shape🔥💪🏼
Legendary song❤
I only wonder why the bass player is standing so far from the drummer 🤔
