    Oh my gosh you have no idea how helpful this was. I thought to myself “did I miss the lesson on the difference between a goal and an objective?” This was so validating.

    I would love to see a video that shows a treatment plan within an EHR if possible!

    I always understood goals to indicate what the therapist and patient were working on together. Objectives are what we are trying to get the patient to do to reach the goal. Interventions is more what the therapist does to help the patient meet their objectives and ultimately the goal

      There are lots of ways to write things out and sometimes we have to get creative based on external limitations, so that may be why you learned treatment planning this way. It's not at all wrong to continue with that method! The part you call "Objectives" I just refer to as "Client Participation"... same content :)

    I just watched this video. I was taught to do goals, objectives, and interventions for treatment plans. Since your saying goals and objectives are the same do you recommend doing goals and interventions only and exclude objectives?

    • @MaelisaMcCaffrey
      @MaelisaMcCaffrey  Год назад

      Yes, exactly! Even with Medicare/Medicaid documentation, they usually prefer clear, direct goals.

      @@MaelisaMcCaffrey thank you for clarifying. I am in private practice and only take regular private insurance. No Medicare or Medicaid. I have been spinning my head round and round on treatment planning which makes me feel anxious and avoid it. Is there any way to see a sample completed treatment plan? I second guess myself that I’m doing it wrong and don’t know where to find if I’m doing it right or not. Same goes with my progress notes.. I feel like a mess when it comes to documentation.

      I am assuming that “client participation”section is in place of objectives, right?

    I work for a small company; we are just switching to SMART goals and the CEO of the company (not licensed) argues with me all the time about needing objectives. I have taken numerous trainings and watched numerous videos that say that an objective is not necessary. We bill Medicaid as a company and she thinks she knows EVERYTHING. I am going to show her this video that says otherwise

      Sometimes large organizations do have other entities that require additional things, but if you are using SMART goals then additional objectives usually are not necessary with Medicaid. Usually.
