Got rid of all my junk in the last 6 months. A little each day I accumulated for a donation load in my car. Finally finished with a garage sale with a last load of items. Didn't do well with garage sale, so just ended up donating the rest. Feels great to be free from it all!
Hey that’s great! It helps other people know that it’s possible and they can do it too. Most important to just get started, the momentum starts to build by itself
The dude plays the piano, the piano is un-tuned after decades of sitting there. He says it’s in terrible condition. NO IT’S NOT! TUNE IT! He didn’t even open the lid, if I remember correctly. Worst case scenario, if the wood isn’t rotten, which it doesn’t look, is having to replace some felt, some strings, maybe a hammer or two.. but to my ear it just sounds like it needed tuning.
Or temple dogs. Anyways, I think they're super neat. They kind of remind me of the far-eastern equivalent of the garden gnome. Something lucky to enliven an entryway, garden patio or any inauspicious corner.
The guy who is supposed to be an expert on selling items doesn't even know what he is selling half the time and then he takes them to a guy who does business from the gravel on the ground....
The man selling the home owners itemsdoes not seem to put much effort into getting a good price. His attitude is like well you wanted stuff out so be happy you got anything. Too bad.
Those are foo dogs not dragons. The foo dog is a guardian lion and represent guardianship, prosperity and success. I have two large concrete ones at the end of my drive guarding my home.
I love that the progress was realistic. On the shows where there’s dramatic transformation I don’t have faith that the people will be able to keep it up later.
Tracy is on crutches, but she can certainly bring the junk in, but can't get it out. I think Tracy and Richard can do a lot more. There is still way too much stuff. Mayrann reminds me of Kim Woodburn :) What amazes me is when family members think that you should keep items from relatives who have passed, even if you don't really want all of them, and they do a guilt trip on you, but if you say it back to them they come up with all of the excuses why they "can't" . Rubbish ! My Mom always said, if you don't want it , don't keep it !
I live in a small efficiency apartment and there's quite a bit of stuff in it, mostly books. I'm gradually downsizing and my goal is to have things downsized and orderly enough that in the event of my death my place can be cleared out in one day.
Ann had the perfect TV shelf unit in her garage for that bedroom wall and she went with the mismatched junky furniture she already had in there instead? Hmmm.
In the U.K. they make the people clean up their mess, separate items, what is for the trash, for donations and what they can sell. In the U.S.A the series Hoarders they trucks, crew's to clean up the trash, and fix the inside of the home, removing all the appliances that are no longer working. They have professionals who assist, it's more involved than the U.K.
@@613miami clutter and mess has been found to increase the stress hormone cortisol, which also can help with weight gain/weight retention which i found so interesting
I have all my stuff counted in an Excel doc. If I don't use an item for a year, I get rid of it. It's different with the books though. I have a plan, reading one by one, leaving only those I liked to recommend to friends.
The first couple didn't get rid of anything in their living room, sadly! And the Crofton room is still a mess. They might have needed more help and motivation.
I wish this was on tv, I sorta like there hoarding show, I do watch the other one here in Michigan. At least they want to get there house organize, and there being pretty good about getting rid of things. 💗💗💕
So I live in Michigan and I love these reality shows like 'my 600 lb life' or 'hoarders' but the thing about the state side shows is they're so SAD. I like those shows and these also but I hate watching the American versions sometimes because they just weigh on you and make my heart ache for the ones who can't be helped....
It’s the second show in this format that I try to watch and just can’t… 1, I hate the antiques guy… 2, it was better when it was about the psychological trauma of real hoarders… like where’s the point of watching people sell their stuff for a few quids? The channel is called ‘Only Human’ yet it’s about the stuff and not the human drama… it’s more like the worst copy of “Antiques roadshow” or something… pity because the old ones are very good…
I guess we all keep memories; I still have my dad's clock, my Grandma's mirror and a couple of photos but that's where it ends. With these people it's just got out of control.
@@fabienneroure9995 ohhhh! My mistake. I honestly thought she aged slightly, maybe had a tiny bit of work done, and developed the feisty personality for the Canadian show 🤣 Love both shows now. My guilty pleasure.
They did because 20-30 people came in and cleared everything out for the hoarder. But the hoarder didn’t really work through a process so that they could maintain a decluttered home.
It might help if she reduced her weight & paid more attention to herself. She’s a beautiful lady & having self-esteem is way more fulfilling than any collection
It's amazing that one person can destroy a house and live in filth and love it there is no therapy to help these people it took years to get this way L will take years to give these people the mental health they need.
It was her dad stuff, now it is her stuff it do not make sense for her to hold on to her dad stuff. Ppl need to stop letting material items consume them. At some point collections turn into hoarding. Have your needs and some of your wants
The difference with this couple and the ones I've seen on the USA version she and husband at least WANT to and agree with getting rid of "stuff". Most have all the "stuff" because of their unwillingness to get rid of their stuff.
They failed to completely clean out the garage and the craft room, there's still junk in there. Curtis failed to make much money. This show is 32 minutes too long, like watching paint dry. Curtis should take his pink pants and man purse and go back to antiquing. 🐷😵☹️
Exactly my thoughts! The binder by itself, without its content, would have been worth way more than that!!!! And when he said 20 pounds, the seller looked happily surprised!

RUclips preview: Shows woman sitting next to her husband
I was thinking the same thing. Why put her sitting next to her husband if you say she doesn't sit by him.

Good point! I think it would be good to get someone from an auction firm and who can use the internet to widen the range of possibly buyers.
I watch these videos when I need motivation to clean out my storage room lol

Temple dogs, to guard the temple.

I love that the progress was realistic. On the shows where there’s dramatic transformation I don’t have faith that the people will be able to keep it up later.
Okay Curtis, you're trying to sell stuff to a guy who has a table at a flea market!!! That's not how you get money for it!!!!
Exactly
Clearing up stuff but still a lot to get rid of. Curtis is not a good pricer of goods to be sold
Good lord, that craft room is still a nightmare
This guy doesn't get a good price, every episode makes me even more upset.
No he always looses, a boot sale easier
Stop watching. Not worth being upset… life is too short.
I came here to see if anyone else thought so and it's the very first comment 🤣🤣🤣
Exactly what I was thinking. He doesn't care, it's not his...
Yes well these people have to settle.

Tracy and her husband are so in love, it's so beautiful to watch 💖
At Tracy's house. That is not dragons. That's either Chinese guardian lions
or Japanese shrine guardian dogs called " Komainu"
This program baffles me a bit. I can’t see a significant difference between the before and after photos. They barely scratch the surfaces.

Megan may want it🤣
Curtis drives the softest bargain ever. :D
Craft has a lot of blame to take for hoarding situations.
Looks like Tracy and Richard losing the clutter led them to lose some weight too, good on them!
That’s what I have noticed. At least 80% of the hoarders in the uk and the USA are overweight/obese
