      Attachment causes suffering. That’s one of the principles of Buddhism. Minimalism isn’t part of it. There are many different schools of Buddhism. Where I live, there is plenty of Icon worship and the temples are certainly not minimalist in style. But the belief that attachment to people, things, money, life, and not accepting that nothing is permanent brings unhappiness is central to all schools of thought.

    Usually hoarders have “collections” that are dirty and jumbled up wherever they can find space to fill. The second couple truly had what I would define as proper collections. Their things fell into specific themes, intentionally placed to showcase them and free of dust or debris. I think I can understand that behavior more than typical hoarding because of how the items and space are maintained.

    Michelle seems to turn child like when hugging her stuffed animals. As well with the animal hoarding, I see a connection to her childhood trauma when she was kicked out of her mom's house and lost her pets. Her whole character is very childlike. Many traumatised as a child get stuck to that mental age when the trauma happened.

    • @judylloyd7901

      Michelle is childish.
      Children display an ability to trust, which is a characteristic Michelle doesn't have, so, she isn't childlike.
      A grown woman who cuddles toy rabbits because they make her *feel safe,* and can't part with them, is emotionally stunted and childish.

Do you not have empathy? Please try to put yourself in that person's shoes and understand that in every situation the hoarding extends from trauma. Think about the worse time in YOUR life... What if you had no support or couldn't get past your grief and needed help... That's what that person is going through. Its truly very sad situations. Humans *evolved* in tribes.
      Humans *belong* in tribes.
      This is the reason why human society is SO dysfunctional, because our families are structured incorrectly.
      Marriage is the problem. Humans are not meant to live in marriages. Humans are meant to live in matriarchal tribes, tribes that are traced through the mothers bloodline.
      That's why "mental illness" is affecting so many humans, because when family is wrong, nothing is right.

      Absolutely agree, but to gave her some credit - of course the cages are also a bit gunky looking and lacking entertainment, in regards to the cage style and size, this was sadly very normal up until some years ago when people realized you should basicly give you rabbits and guineapig a room or fence off half a room. Luckily the internet has done a good thing in spreading proper keeping standards... A lot of pet books up until the 2010s still recommended cages of this size... :( Back in the days they also recommended dried pellets and dried corn etc. as main food source and vegetables as a 'extra'.

    For an animal hoarder the rabbits look pretty healthy. The cages look a little small, but overall I would say they are well cared for.

      She still seems like a good owner, they are fed and the cages are clean.
      The dead rabbit in the fridge is part of her illness of hoarding. But she was able to bury it and even rehome the majority of the rabbits

    As some of you guys said it's great that Michelle takes care of her animals, one thing I saw and notices was that she was holding her bunny like a baby... Which is really bad for bunnies, it puts them in a trance and can lead to death. I'm not posting this for hate , I was just pointing out how that isn't good for them other than that I'm glad her animals are taken care of

    • @NumeroLetter
      @NumeroLetter 3 года назад +1

      Thank you for pointing that out! Not enough people know about that, sadly. It's kind of instinct for us to coddle an animal like a baby-- I do it with my cats and my dog. People genuinely don't realize that it's actually very dangerous to hold a bunny like that.
