Hm, is that so? 🤔 I'm no expert, but I would think the length of the instrument would have some impact. The bass taisho is considerably longer than the standard soprano taisho. I'm not sure if you could just transpose the strings, and get the same results.
@@BenElliottSound OK A BASS Taisho-Koto? you got me thinking now! I have a Yamaha TH-10E. There are 6 strings 4 Melody and 2 drones. And an 8 string Taisho-Koto. I'll try to change the string to thick coiled strings. I'll let you know. Thanks.

A regular Taisho-Koto would sound the same (base) if you change the strings from thin to thick-coiled strings.
