Imagine if Plagueis were the villain in “Dark Empire” instead of a Reborn Palpatine.

Plagueis didn't exist back then so what the point lol?

ehh i mean Plagueis was created to justify Emperor Palpatine's Desire to cheat Death and seek immorality. ( Dark Empire, Death Troopers novel, etc)
In Disney Canon Plagueis Influence and Legacy also extended to Vader With him doing all forms of life and death Dark side experiments in attempts to Resurrect Padme. Source: Vader Comics and Vader Immortal VR game.
At least Vader was successful at Trapping The Grand Inquisitor's Spirit.
The Point is Plagueis legacy has Fueled The Sith Desire for immorality and Power over life and Death.

I wouldn't characterize Plagueis as a fool, as Luke does. In this, Luke is following the traditions of the Jedi of old, close minded and limited. The edge of science and mysticism is there; that's what Plagueis was searching for. In a different setting not reduced to name calling, Hego Damask and Luke Skywalker would've been friends, thinkers, testing the fabric of the Force. Not sure if a moisture farmer from Tatooine would be able to keep up with the aptitude required for pure science, however all alchemy and witchcraft have at their core, a form of chemistry and biology; tetrodotoxin from the puffer fish gave rise to the stories of zombies.. We did the same during the dark ages and science was halted, as we felt we knew everything. Luke needed to understand this and understand what is behind that door that Plagueis and others were knocking on. Without feigning ignorance, or seeing fear.

I completely dismissed anything Disney as done with star was after what they did to Luke Skywalker.
I wouldn't even consider it a parallel "what if?" multiverse thing.
Loved Star Wars all my life and Disney managed to make me sick of the franchise.
The EU books are the best we'll ever get at this point.

Everything in Star Wars is about balance. I don't think there would be a way for Jedi to become Force Ghosts and for the Sith no to. Maybe not the same way as Jedi but another way not yet discovered. Yes, they can be rooted to a spot or an artifact, but I believe there is a path to immortality for the Dark side as well. Just not found yet.

I will never consider Disneys to be the arbitrators of canon for star wars. Legally sure but they just split the time line. Theres the actual canon, and theres the disney dimension.

You're making a mistake if you think that Plagueis is (was) intelligent. The fact is that negativity destroys our brain, so... how can he be intelligent? This is fiction so anything can be possible but in our real reality it's not. Anyway, Luke is right in his opinions.

Jedi who learn to maintain their consciousness aren’t extending life. They’re still dead. They just keep themselves tethered to the Living Force so they can manifest physically and speak to people

Darth Plagueis made the mistake of being arrogant and not respecting The Force as a living phenomenon that has a will. Where Plagueis believed that he could bend The Force to his own will, he was a tool of The Force's will all along.
