Lucy's breath control is astonishing - evident at 16 with "Hallelujah" and in the final note of "Evergreen" - which runs for 14 seconds. This has to be in part the result of years of hard work and vocal practice with excellent teachers like Carolyn Hudson, the result being a style that seems effortless but which really is the result of discipline and devotion to excellence.
From one Vietnam-era Vet to another, keep up the great work reacting to Lucy. Her breath control is astounding and it makes her presentation so smooooooth. Like no other singer today. I agree with Jeff, she does reveal the Glory of God. Closest thing to perfection I've ever heard in my 78 years. This song was my late wife's and my song, played at our wedding in '70. When I hear Lucy sing it, it brings back a lot of memories. Lucy sings it better than Art sang it then. Her voice and presentation are so soul-piercing. And her smile at the end of many videos just melts this old heart.

Hi Mr. Vet! You are on a roll with Lucy reactions and I am enjoying everyone of them. Yes agree, Glorious, Wonderful and "a pleasure to listen to" serves as a pretty good summary - what else can really be said? This is a beautiful song to start with and Art Garfunkel definitely sang it beautifully - but the beauty of Lucy's voice is just overwhelming - particularly in this rendition. Also - good pick up by you on her voice and breathe control - Lucy's "transitions" are ridiculous - it's like having a 5 speed manual race car & yet no clutch - the gears just shift effortlessly with no noise. Wishing you and everyone the best!!

Hi Great reaction as usual and what a beautiful song from our Queen of song Lucy .Everything she is perfect .Lucy is renowned for her perfect Breath control and being able to drag her notes out without having to gasp for air .Lucy has been singing since she was 7 years old and has the same voice coach since then .She is even at such a young age a master of her art. Hey Paul. Another great reaction. I know how hard it is to come up with ways to explain Lucy’s great voice and control. The first thing a person learns in singing class is breath control. Lucy is way past a gold metal in that category. Lucy’s version of Hallelujah is past 45 million views on RUclips but there are at least 25 million more when taken into account the other platforms. It was also featured in the movie On a Wing and a Prayer.
I listened to this today while I was working and I know what you mean...what can you say? I've never thought much about how hertz actually affects someone's psyche, like those sleep and healing videos they have out there (read sceptic) but how else do I explain the affect she has? I mean there's a number of great voices out there, but they sound just average to me now. God Bless.
I will absolutely agree that she can control her voice in a way that most people cannot. Unfortunately, I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel and it’s their original hit. I think this gal needs to do something original to her beautiful soul, not trying to be mean just honest.
I eared this song countless times. From Simon and Garfunkel and people covering it. With Lucy, it is the first time I got , really got, the meaning of the song. Until now it was , for me , only a nice melody, I did not care about the lirycs

Brand new day is an original lucy song as is songs from the new musical Rosie. I think lucy is just beginning to break out.
