Another Chris Broom masterpiece sung by the best English speaking female vocalist in the world
The fellow who spends his sad pathetic life using a device that "proves" that singers use autotune is obsessed with proving what is already a fact of life in today's music industry. Most every one of today's professional singers uses the various "tricks of the trade" from time to time in order to make their performances as good as they can be. That being said, Lucy has a brand-new LIVE performance of this song out now and if you check that out you will find yourself being convinced that it is just as sweet, pure and perfect as the one you just watched. It's my opinion that Lucy is the finest female singer since Karen Carpenter.

Agree fully, plus why would a young 7 year old spend money on a vocal coach., (even i believe to this day, ) as Lucy does ,to use auto tune. This man is an idiot, Lucy is a fine singer pretty much pitch perfect, and yes, on recordings they use pitch correction to tighten the odd notes here and there, and that goes for eve ry recording artist. why he is picking on Lucy i just dont know.
This is one of the last songs she sang on her first public concert in Manchester. I was there. I heard her sing. I met her and her wonderful family. I could not detect any imperfections in that song that evening. In the first song that evening one could hear one or two tiny imperfections. She was rather nervous then. Who wouldn’t be on a first public concert. She relaxed soon after. No, she does not use auto tune. She has perfect pitch.
She sang this same song live at her concert and her voice is just as good if not better. This is a sign of a true beautiful voice. Many so-called great singers are horrible live. Please check it out.

YES! Please react to the live performance as soon as possible so that you can make a true comparison of the two. It is my personal opinion that you will find the live version to be just as beautiful as the studio version.
This is an exceptional piece of music with such a powerful message for all of humanity. It is anthem like in its grandeur. Chris Broom wrote this for Rosie the musical and it will be sing by Lucy as the finale for the musical. Lucy is absolutely wonderful. This is a wonderful song for our times sung by the best singer in the business.
Lucy does not use auto-tune. Her studio recordings all go through the normal mixing and mastering and post-production technology that is used throughout the industry. The definitive proof of Lucy’s quality is to watch her two recent live performances, including one of this song, from the Stoller Hall concert on 5th March.

There are some people out there that spend their time claiming that not only Lucy but many many other artists use auto tune. Let me tell you that I have an electrical engineering degree. I have worked with high speed digital system’s from the beginning of computing such things. First I need to tell you that if you don’t have a system build from the bottom up to analyze such digital data it’s a waste of time. A home computer will just not cut it. Here’s some very basic questions to ask.
1. What is the scan rate of the computer
2. What is the sample rate of the software.
3. Who certified these computers and/or software for this type of data analysis.
I could go on but you get the point. Your neighbors computer could have completely different outcomes.

@@gdouglas999I think you misunderstood what I was saying. This gentleman was questioning weather Lucy was using Autotune. If he had seen her live perfomance of this song, it may convince him that this brilliant singer doesn't need any interference from Autotune.
@@pedromancenithe3rd Sorry if I misunderstood. I fully agree that listening to the live version will quell any doubts any reasonable person has about Lucy needing Autotune! She has one of the most perfect voices I have ever heard, possibly equaled only by Karen Carpenter.
A 13 years old girl who need auto-tune to sing correctly cannot be signed by a record company. So,no auto-tune.

Pitch correction has overtaken auto tune , because it doesn't affect vabrato , Lucy has a great voice but unfortunately her management have chosen to use pitch correction more than likely for every performance . as wings of pegasus has said she has a great voice but the use of pitch correction makes her voice worse .

Hi Vet These people have nothing better to do .He saw how much you enjoy Lucy and wants to spoil your fun .There are very nasty people out there who take great pleasure in doing this. Lucy Does not and never has used Auto tune .All recordings Lucy included are put through a mixing and mastering process before being released .That´s industry standard and there is nothing the artist can do about it. There are people who say they have apps to detect voice corrections .The problem is they are listening to the finished version of the song which has been mixed and matched the only way to tell is listen to the original first and none of them has access to that. What they are saying is this note is perfect it must have been altered. There are plenty of videos of Lucy singing live even videos of her busking on the street . Her older songs she sang them at home in the lounge I don´t think she has the equipment to mess with her recordings. However for your own peace of mind Listen to her live version of this .one more thing Autotune kills vibrato and Lucy constantly uses vibrato. Listen to Juliet the On line Coach. reactions to Lucy´s voice.
Thank you for another great reaction to Lucy, she really is in a classof her own. There are two people claiming singers are using auto tune and both have a screen that has lines over it not convincing at all, i actually went further on this and asked a friend of mine ,who is a sound engineer with Soundstaion yorkshire, could he give his opinion on 3 of lucys songs, his verdict there was no evidence of tune or tone correction he has been in the job for 19 years ,i know who i believe. Lucy has in my opinion the best female voice in the worls. Thanks again Vet.
That´s good to know ,these people are really getting on my nerves trying to ruin Lucy. You don´t get singed by an record company and picked to sing the lead in West End Musical if you cant sing. I have tried to get them taken down on RUclips but no luck yet.

You don't need software to here the interference of Autotune, your ears will tell you, since everything is sqeezed to 440 Hz that makes the singers voice sound like a robot. Pitch correction, by the way is a manual correction of individual notes picked out by the producer at post production, thet they think needs to be altered.

I attended Lucy’s concert in Manchester, 17 songs sung live and to perfection, as good or better than the studio versions.
Some days ago gave Lucy a concert in Manchester.She was singing We can chance the World live.The studio version and live version are not so different.Greetings from Germany

@@isx9ry I understand the truth of that but (for me) it matters not. What I want and expect to hear is the best that the song can be. Even great singers use the "tricks of the trade" from time to time. There is no point in anyone having an issue with that since those "tricks" aren't going anywhere and will continue to be used as long as humans are doing the singing

@@isx9ry As I said, there is no point in having issues with standard practices in the music industry which enhance the quality of a recording. Lucy's handlers are just as free to make use of those as anyone else. The vast majority of pop music listeners don't know, can't tell and don't care.

I just listened to her live performance and it sound just as good as the recording. Not sure how they could one could be enhanced and one not and still sound the same.
This whole Autotune topic seems to have hit fever pitch (no pun intended ) lately.
But the Music Industry's favourite toy in the box seems to be this soul destroying technology.
You can bet that the artist doesn't have a say in the postproduction, since these dreaded Music Labels want to get the "product" out as fast as possible, so shove the voice through the shredder instead of doing multiple takes as they did back in the day.( time is money, after all)
Autotune is pitched at A above C hence called A440 ( 440 vibrations a second) which is standard tuning for instruments in say, an orchestra. When analysing a voice, Autotune is totally indiscriminate. If a voice misses any of the A440 lines for each note sung during a performance, then Autotune will drag that note to the line and flatten it giving it a compressed sound , in a lot of cases, the longer the note, can make it sound like a robot. You don't need any software. If you have a good ear, you will hear it
As previously mentioned, Pitch correction on the other hand, is a manual process, correcting individual notes the producer thinks in his wisdom, may need his helping hand. Using Autotune during a live performance could cause a problem if for any reason it went wrong and Michael Buble, of all the people, apparently had such a failure during a live performance -ouch"

Lucy does not use auto-tune, but she does have perfect pitch. Auto-tune will flatten out the vibrato and give you a very flat sound. No program detects auto-tune, but the guy uses a pitch detector which shows Lucy's perfect pitch witch that person uses to say "no one is that good so she has to be using auto-tune." I say listen and draw your own conclusions. Lucy will always be a target because she is the best!

This is beautiful song written by Chris Broom For Lucy :it is the final song in his Musical "Rosie" in which Lucy is starring due to open London Next year .Lucy sings it Beautifully .She has done live version of This Which I believe is even better than this .I sent you a link to it on your song requests form. Very unlikely Lucy’s recordings use auto-tune because that would kill vibrato. It is possible she uses some pitch correction but I wouldn’t go out on a limb and say that she does.
Hello Vet, there are some people out there that are trying to discredit Lucy 's and many other artist reputations by stating they are using Autotune or Pitch correction, Lucy's record producer is Cavandish Records they have the top of the range recording equipment it is so far advanced in producing their records. The equipment nowadays is automatically controlled to cut down on time for producing recorded music. Lucy & many other top artists have no imput of how the sound of their recording sounds. it sounds as though you have some doubt of Lucy's voice ability & that it might have been interfered during the recording of her music, I do not know the technical ability of these recordings they are so far advanced nowadays you maybe right you maybe wrong. what you should have done is listen to her live version of this song, it is on Lucy Thomas Music under " Rosy " " We can change the World is a song from the musical " Rosie" it is on RUclips you should do this straight away so everybody can hear her voice live, then people can make up their own minds if she is using Autotune or Pitch correction or not to stop any stigma of Lucy.Take care Barbara.

It hase been proven that Lucy does not use autotune!,it has been shown that there is some pitch correction with some of her songs that has been used by the recording engineers this is happening throughout the industry,all you have to do is listen to Lucy's 2 #'s released from her live concert to see what a great live performer Lucy is!,there aeem to be 1 or 2 trolls out there trying to make trouble without much idea as to what they are talking about!,Lucy has it all,end of story!!!!!!
Hello Paul - as someone of a similar vintage, but without any real technical music knowledge, it came as a bit of a shock for me to learn that Lucy's YT videos had such 'post' work applied by the label's technicians. However, since learning that this always happens today with studio videos, irrespective of the artist, I have become sanguine about the revelation for Lucy. Lucy's studio videos use, or have used, 'pitch correction' for the very few notes in a song where it is deemed appropriate by the label's techicians - to try and iron out perceived imperfections. Pitch correction is a manual, note by note, process applied after the song has been recorded and is a very different technique to autotune, which can be applied to live recordings to enable an artist to appear better than they really are. This, at least is my understanding of the business of video production!
Lucy's vocals do not need pitch correction, as commented in earlier posts, and it probably detracts from the overall listening experience, but it still happens! I suspect the use of pitch correction for Lucy is more to do with a technician being paid to perform a function and having to justify that role!
You have not yet reacted to either of the videos so far released from Lucy's first public concert, in which you can compare her live performances with the studio videos, but I would urge you to do so. I think that, like me, any disappointment that you may have felt about the 'post' work done on Lucy's studio videos will be immediately dispelled. 😊
