- In this video we share some feedback on buckshot. With all the options out there users should pattern their chosen ammunition at different and practical distance to assess what yields the best performance.
Our prefered load is the Federal Law Enforcement 00 Buckshot with the flitecontrol wad.
Great video and points. My 1301T serves me for HD and the longest shot I will be faced with is about 10-15 meters, so this is helpful. I am running Federal right now as well, but going to try a different choke and check results.
Right on! Thanks for commenting.
I have two question--Are not Buckshot pellets the same as FMJ's in that they do not expand? If they do not expand then where do they get such a deadly power from?
Thank you for the question. The lift reality of buckshot has to do with the number of pallets striking at once. Particularly with double lot buckshot which is a 32 caliber ball. Remember there are nine of these balls striking / impacting at the same time.
Nice video. I shoot the flight control in my 1301 and 870 having great result The 1301 has the same result at 35 yards due to the choke.
Sir, thank you for commenting. I agree with you the federal premium buckshot load with flight control wad is outstanding.
@@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC thinking about SBS a 1301
At home defense distances most 00 buckshot shells will do the job, including the cheap ones.
Yes, sir, you are absolutely correct. The issue is really when you get beyond 15 yards. However, as you pointed out, this is a relatively rare occurrence for a self-defense or home defense situation.
We in used Federal my whole LE career
Excellent choice in my opinion!
The Federal Flite Control is devastating on a charging Black Bear. Lights out at around 35yds.
Right on
Federal Premium Force X2 is good, it just might be hard to get. Hornady Critical Defense is also good. If you're concerned about over penetration but still want good stopping power, Number 1 buckshot would be good. .15-16 .30 Caliber pellets moving at 1,100+ fps is nothing to laugh at.
I agree with you on both points! Thank you for watching and commenting.
