Oh god! Don’t get me started! So the biggest problems is the rail systems flex and break. Then also most inexpensive pocket door frames can’t hold truly solid core doors due to the the weight the frame will flex and do all kinds of wrong things! Then the number of times I have had nails and screws protrude through the frame where these frames have big thick metal bands you can screw drywall into. Just sooo much better. Then add in that it’s soft close and open and it’s a cherry on top
What are you doing about energy and sustainability? Do you ever try for LEED Gold or Passive Haus? Even rich ppl get tired of needlessly high energy bills. Looks like air temp comfort , HVAC balance and consistency in that house will be a challenge.
Yes we are the only Certified Passive House Builder in GA. We also built the first certified Passive House for GA. We don’t play the LEED game as we don’t believe in the trade offs the allow. Our homes are all mechanically engineered with ERV, and Dehumidifier systems
Water drainage at the center of your roof? That’s the easiest way to collapse or water damage your roof. A simple pipe leakage or clog would be catastrophic. This is a dream house for the roofers and handymen who have to constantly service this house. A terrible “luxury” deal.
I know nothing about luxury, but oh boy your lumber is absolutely horrendous.😮 Over here the building inspectors would propably demand 90% of them to be changed to decent ones before approving the frame.
@@zanegoodwin6535 First of all all lumber must be smooth planed and secondly it can't have any wanes, ruff/damaged edges, big knots, many knots, mold, discoloration, splits, etc.
@@handlealreadytaken Really. Have you ever seen what kind of lumber is used in any civilized country? Btw, I already explained what's wrong with it, but someone got butthurt and deleted the message.😂
Give the guy a break. It’s America we build 99.9% of our homes in wood. Luxury or not. In other parts of the world luxury is 100% built with concrete, cmu blocks, or a combination with metal studs and still will cost 1/4 of our wood homes and last hundreds of years. It is what it is. Unfortunately.
If by luxury You mean large, You are right. But it is still a stick frame, and in my opinion that is not luxury. Of course, that is all in our individual mindset, but to me, luxury is more solid building, masonry and steel pillars. Your standard is high though, but it is still wood.
I hear you. In the US we wood frame because that’s our resource of choice. Very sustainable and carbon negative(holds more carbon than the carbon cost of getting it in place). So the framing material for us doesn’t dictate Luxury or not.
Great video. Would be awesome to see detailed videos on mechanical and interior trim/details.

Have yall checked out some of the builds in Serenbe, down near Palmetto/Newnan ?
Yes we love Serenbe! Have you been?
I have to know… what’s been your experience with cheaper pocket doors? 8:55

The question is how much does this cost!
There is a lot going on in this video but the answer is a lot
Not the average framing job... a video just before the ZIP-sheathing went on, would have been more interesting.
Agreed and noted! We will certainly get more into the structure too
you are not transferring any load above that window anywhere. Walls that run parallel to joists are simply not load bearing. No rocket science here.
Agreed. None of it is rocket science. However it’s for sure not normal framing and most don’t understand or have access to homes like thtod

luxury homes are made of wood?
@@testing1sim is there a rule that says they aren’t supposed to be?

Here luxury isn’t dictated by using wood or concrete.
