Great video as always Charles. Not surprised at all about Kiwior staying, it means Arsenal have 8 defenders which, for me, was always the ideal number, two for every position. Because between, Tomiyasu and Zinny's injury record and Timber just coming back, we were always going to need at least one more body in the defence this summer. We were incredibly lucky with our defence last year. For the forward line, even before Nketiah was to go, we always needed another forward given Jesus's availability issues and Arteta's apparent lack of trust in Nelson. So getting a new forward is a MUST now that Nketiah's leaving. But with Arsenal, you can never be too sure we'll get one before the window closes. Merino's negotiations took nearly a month and even with an agreement reached since last Friday and medical done, they're still yet to announce it up till today, so i wouldnt hold my breath of any other incomings at this point. 😒
I think we need an extra forward even if Nketiah stays. But if he goes, it is a must. We would be incredibly light in this department (keeping in mind Jesus injury record and Martinelli poor form as well) if we do not sign anyone. Could Coman be the one?
On the topic of fantastic saves, does anyone remember Vitto Manone's saves in the away game against Fulham in 2009/2010 season? We won 1 0, courtesy of RVP goal. Vitto was excellent that day and made incredible save after save.
We have some great players , but not enough of em , the squad ..Especially dare I say the strike force is not good enough for a long season , we-don’t have the fire power to win the league . I hope I’m wrong But a cutting edge striker is essential and we don’t have one .🙈 I have a feeling the season will end in disappointment ..Again !
Trossard is the best example ever to other players on the bench when it comes to grabbing your opportunity by the throat and showing the manager you deserve minutes. Nelson is right behind him in that, both giving it 110% whenever they are brought on.
Hi Charles! Big fan of your work. Let's not forget the first deal we tried to get done this summer was Sesko, so we've known since the start of the off-season that it was a position of need. I just hope we haven't left it too late to sort it out. Cheers Jim
I also remember being at that Villa game in 90/91. I seem to remember a fair amount of friendly banter between Platt and the North Bank when he went in goal, also Kevin Campbell bursting through but that's about it!
If we don't get in an effective forward/striker we won't win the league, it's that simple. Last season we had many players contributing goals, but it would be wrong that this would make another striker superflous --- we perhaps don't need a striker for games we're winning anyway, but it's for the games like Villa last season, when we just can't get the ball over the line and are trying to carry the ball into the goal, these are the situations when you need a ruthless goalgetter....which we still don't have, as of yet.
Fair enough Viera, ESR, and Eddie don’t play much but that leaves us VERY light for cup competitions and our bench looks very weak, even only bringing in 1 attackers feels short sighted. Nwaneri and Merino feel Mike they don’t not fill those holes
@12:00 I remember the Spunky save against Villa. If I recall correctly he had the whole goal with he needed to scramble across in order to get a low hard shot saved by one of those huge Big Dave Seaman gloves to push round the post.
No no no, best seamen save has to be when he hooked it back off the line against Sheffield United in the FA cup in 2003 I think, he did do another gorden banks like save that I remember where the shot was low but he somehow was able to get it over the bar, hopefully some else remembers it and cam fill in the blanks. Got to love seamen, I used to live around the corner from him in kensal green many years ago.
The Seaman save was amazing but what makes the Raya one more impressive is that when Watkins headed that ball, Raya was still on his haunches and wasn't expected to leap to his feet with catlike agility
@@NowegianRich I got to be honest, as I watched it unfold I thought it was a certain goal, I was about to lose my shit so it was definitely an amazing save no doubt about that

Hey Charles. Nketiah now has left for Palace while Jesus still hasn't turned up in training due to injury issues. Hope Jesus injury thing is not an big issue but looking from a long term perspective for the season, i think we need a attacker signing. I'd like us to raid Brighton again for either Adingra or Joao Pedro, we've got a great track record with our signings from them (white, trossard and even Matt Ryan was useful at times when we had him) I personally think Pedro would be brilliantly suited for us can play anywhere across the front 3 and can even play the 10 role

Hi Charles, great contents as always. Just a quick one with the Martinelli situation, as fans we're so easy to just look as it as Martinelli isn't performing and he needs to be out of the team. But do we also have to consider that having him on the team also allows to provoke favourable tactics from the opposition which the manager might find easier to exploit. For example against a City surly you'll rather have a player like Kyle Walker who is more a traditional right winger who is kept occupied by martinelli opposed to a Rico Lewis who can invert and allow city to by pass our press and get on the ball and allow city to out number us in the middle of the park (I know using city in this example is a bit redundant because they're good either way). But as a manger selecting players who provoke favourable tactics for the team is a very important point and Martinelli's attributes provide that more than Trossards who drifts in and out of games when he starts.
I think we should go all out for Nico Williams in the coming days and if that fails we should trigger Eze’s release clause as we know that he’d be keen to join. Maybe that’s why Arsenal have been making sure they’re in a strong financial position with FFP, so they wouldn’t have issues triggering that release clause. Thoughts Charles?
I'm all for keeping Aaron Rambo, but a deal with Newcastle for Isak where we send Aaron and money might be cool. There's a picture floating around social media of Odegaard, Merino and Isak at RSO. It would be great for all 3 to be reunited at the Emirates. Also, forgot to ask where do Arsenal supporters go for fish and chips in North London? Thanks.
No idea what seems to be going on with us right now everything seems so quiet, all outgoings no incomings mentioned at all. I mean we haven’t even announced Merino at this time which is crazy. There shouldn’t be any talk of this squeezing one more player in before the window closes. We should have our targets set and hit them as soon as the windows opened. I understand the international tournaments have hampered that a bit although I feel we should’ve known exactly what was needed to close that gap to Man City. Suppose I’ just feeling a little underwhelmed with our window and I don’t see too much happening in the last few days other than outgoings. Hope I’m wrong though 🤞.
Not giving up hope yet, but as of now, poor window for addressing areas of concern. Unless a Gyokeres/Williams etc arrive, we will be lucky to get top 2 in the Premier league.
This transfer window has been a complete mess. All the players we have been linked to we haven’t got one over the line. And the fans are gassed over the one we have and they will delay the second one as long as they can. Then they will say that there is no one out there that would fit the way we play. Or the selling club wants to much more PR shit.
do you people know how to do anything but complain? who are these linked players you're referring to? just because there are reports and rumours doesn't mean there was ever concrete interest from the club, but our idiot fans are always clamoring for more incoming players regardless of how they fit the play style and wage structure. players who fit both and also improve the squad are not a dime a dozen. the reason other clubs make more deals is because they're lower in the league and need to fix far more than we do. just accept you don't know anything about transfer negotiations and be a fucking fan ffs
Agree Vieira will be sold, if EN continues his development. Reiss is a difficult one, as I think the gap is centre forward, given Jesus injury record. If we can only sign 1 forward, it has to be to replace Eddie, and Calvert-Lewin ( depending on price) would be a good back up and competition for Kai. Of course a hijack of Victor Osimhen move to Chelsea would be a firecracker of a move, but just think our budget restrictions rule it out. However in Edu we trust.
Hi Charles, would it not make sense to go for a Ferran Torres or Raphinha from Barcelona as they need to offload or even if we went in for Sterling or even Rashford.. which one of these 4 players would you want in before the window shuts ? Hopefully Mbeumo comes next year.
If Nelson stays then likely we will get a striker as we have Saka, Jesus n Nelson on right side. I still hope we can get 2 more assuming Nelson left or loan out. We need more floor raiser for attacking line.
I don’t think a forward is enough. We need a player who can get the ball down and run with it. Attacking mid who can replace odegaard if he gets injured or tired, and we need a forward as well. Seeing players coming in at City and Chelsea tells you this is a non negotiable
I'm not particularly impressed with our current transfer activities. Our squad was a bit short before the departures of ESR, FV, and Eddie. That's three attacking players out and two defensive players in. We are extremely short in our forward line. Jesus is extremely unreliable. We need at least two attacking players. If we don't sign two attacking players before the window closes, we are in trouble !!
Hi charles I know we all want a rw but who exactly will you be expecting at this point in the window ? Nico Williams is staying Olise is gone Neto is gone Who do you want? Lamine Yamal? 😂 Would be nice to get someone to compete with our star boy, but we have just spent the whole window trimming the fat of the squad, best not buy another fabio in haste because " we need someone" Love the show mate, watch almost everyday keep it up!
I've got a sneaky suspicion that we'll end up trying to sign either mudryk or sterling from Chelsea. They both have different histories with arteta but given that they are both available, I can't help but think that arteta and edu will do all that they can to take advantage of the complete insanity that is going on at the club and get one of them.
Honestly I don’t understand the debate with Leo and Martinelli. They both work really hard, the one is way faster, the other can use both feet. The one scores and assists and unfortunately the other doesn’t have the confidence. Play the guy who performs week in and out simple enough. Give gabi time to build his confidence again by coming on off the bench and let him run at people who are tired
This is one of the strangest windows we have ever seen. (Manchester City is stronger this season remember last season, Debruyne was injured for 4 months, Haaland was injured too, and Gündoğan back), Liverpool is still there I think with the signings we made I am convinced we are going to finish 2nd, and we might win the FA or Carlin Cup I really am sad😢
Taken weeks to sign 2 players while our rivals sign players overnight. Our rivals also buying top forwards. So far this window has been like the Wenger days.
Charles I don't want to sound negative, but why aren't people questioning Edu over certain tranfers. We take forever to sign players. We let Auba go for free however 3 separate clubs have made a profit off him. We let Ozil go for free. Questions over the Pepe deal and lost so much off him, Lokonga, Tavares, Runarsson, we spent 30M on Pablo V??? After one game I knew we got bumped off the detail. Mikel was complaining the squad is small, we have been saying this for the last 3 seasons. Crazy stuff going on.
I think the necessity of bringing in another attacking player depends on how confident we are about G. Jesus' health and if we keep Reiss. We have 8 good-to-great quality versatile players for 4 attack-minded positions: -Saka (RW) -Odegaard (R-8) -Havertz (Str, R-8) -Trossard (LW, Str) -Martinelli (LW, RW) -G. Jesus (LW, Str, RW) -Nwaneri (R-8, RW) -Reiss (LW, RW) It was the first half of the season, and growing pains of figuring out our formation after bringing in Havertz and Rice, that cost us the title last season. We don't need to be better than what we had the second half of last season. That roster was good enough to win the League, and it was when we were getting very few minutes from Nketiah, ESR, Nelson, and Veira. Nwaneria and a healthy G. Jesus can more than replace those minutes. At least until January and we can re-assess again if we're short.
I really don't get this idea that Martinelli will magically kick into gear if Trossard plays well, it just doesn't work like that. Neither should be starting for a team looking to be the best in the world.
This is comedy gold. 105 million for Rice, new contracts for all our major stars. Allowed Arsenal to get Partey on deadline day having to pay the transfer fee in full. We are staying compliant with psr
Am I the only one who thinks Palace are going to have a worse season than Forrest? I feel like Eddie made a poor choice, wish him all the best, but definitely glad he’s gone
With Eddie leaving, Viera off, Jesus injured, ESR gone - we need more than one forward. If City do get a point deduction and we haven't done enough to capitalise we'll only have ourselves to blame
No Wright, Anelka, Henry or Van Persie, yet we still scored the most premier league goals in a single season last year. Agreed we need to raise the level of an attacking player in the squad, but all the "we need a striker or we can't win the league" chat is daft. Nketiah isn't a bad player either, and who are we getting that's significantly better that won't cost the earth and isn't older than it too? Most players would cost more than double what we receive for him, and take twice the wage, for 10% increase in ability? I'd rather keep Eddie as a reserve than compromise like that.
Scoring alot of goals in 1 season doesnt automatically mean you score the same or more in the following season + last year Arsenal struggled abit with open play goals and relied alot upon set pieces & penalties , in a world of fine margins you always have to try & improve where u can
@@Ty01386 Up until last season, Eddie was putting away goals as often (give or take) as anyone outside the top 10 globally when you take account of penalties. Look, I'm not saying he's our striker, he's third choice for me, but to go and spend £60+ on someone else who wouldn't be at least Trossard levels of participation is just wild. I'm seeing few players that will improve on what Jesus or Havertz can offer. As for goals, we scored 75 without corners, and I don't see why scoring from corners a lot is seen as somehow lacking. If there was a Kane, Mbappe or Haaland we could get, then as anyone else I'd break the bank, but are Toney or Gyokeres really worth double or triple Nketiah honestly? At the end of the day, it's not fantasy football, it's a business sadly, and we have to have that mindset when considering what Arsenal are going to do. At least we aren't in the market for useless Americans to sell shirts this summer!
It’s astonishing Merino is still apparently not completed. All our transfer biz seems to drag on unnecessarily compared to other teams. Edu really needs to be sharper at this. It will be weeks before Merino can make his debut and he’s not injured!
Why do people think that a business between two clubs is apparently only down to only one club? Do you seriously believe Arsenal would rather prolong these deals for weeks instead of days?
What on earth are you going on about? Do you just enjoy complaining? 1) All deals take a different timescale to complete. 2) It hasn't been announced, that's all, doesn't mean it hasn't already been completed or isn't going to happen, just that it hasn't been announced. 3) Seriously, how on earth does it effect you whether it was announced Sunday or this coming Thursday and does it really matter? You're like one of those childish fans who just want shiny new toys without really understanding how transfers work.
@@Qlicky it’s not a question of want, it’s a question of ability. We’ve all seen how long it takes for Arsenal to complete one deal, while clubs like Brighton, West Ham and United are completing deals for 2 or 3 players in the same amount of time. There’s a reason for that, and the only common denominator in our deals is Edu. Taking a month to sign one player is a problem.
@@mrdynamitehee why would you use united as a positive example for anything? they get their deals done early because they're suckers who always overpay. all you people know how to do is complain ffs. so you think arsenal should just pay the first quoted price and not negotiate? who cares if he arrives a few weeks into the season, the season is 9 months long
@@mrdynamitehee And? What has West Ham or United completing a deal to do with Arsenal doing it? It's different philosophy, different ambition, different structure, different circumstances, different needs, different everything... Both of Arsenal signings played at the Euros with Merino playing a final. That makes those transfers more difficult by default. What if the selling team is driving a hard bargain? What if Arsenal doesnt want to spend as much as they're asking? What if the player wants more from the deal? What if there is another club involved with a sell-on fee? You don't know a single detail involving those transfers and yet you're talking as if you were a financial advisor and a technical director at Arsenal.
I would be seeing if morgan rogers would wanna join us after his performance on the weekend what a player understandably will be a hard deal to do other options i like are Gyokores/Semenyo from Bournemouth or adringa from brighton which forward signing would you like to see come in charles if it was your decision?
The best save by Ramsdale was against Salah's shot 2 seasons ago, followed up by that save against Konate. I think they top the maddison save, which was going nowhere near the corner.
14:00 wishful thinking. martinelli lacks confidence. heaping more pressure on him isn't going to help. he played poorly last season and was eventually dropped. it didn't help him improve his form. i really fear for martinelli's future. i know a player can turn his form around, just look at havertz, but martinelli has been off it for over a season now.
He did okay against Aston Villa could’ve had 2 assists if we had decent finishers. He is thinking more and not just running into blind alleys like last season.
how much has the switch from forest to palace cost us, charles? i'd be interested to know how much nketiah has cost us before letting go of any grudges.
Sign a proper striker and use Jesus as a back up on both wings. I feel Jesus is more of a capable winger than a striker and of course his recurring injuries record.
@themanmachine125 it's called having high standards for the club I support and are so close to getting above city but not showing the ambition too is very poor.
@@anthonyjordan1859 who are the players that are of the quality required for us to overtake city? they would have to be indisputably world class and they simply aren't there at this point in time. it's clear that arteta and edu are good at their jobs, they've built a squad that can challenge for every trophy when we were completely mediocre less than a decade ago. trust their decision making
@themanmachine125 Gyokeres, osimhen even Kingsley cohman a good back up or other option for winger there are others that have been snapped up by other clubs aswel , it's not been good enough and don't forget we signed no one In January either
I do hope Edu's put his BBQ in the shed this week and is seriously gonna work to get the likes of Gyokores, Nico Williams and Kingsley Coman in.. otherwise.. forever the bridesmaid.

Of course a hijack of Victor Osimhen move to Chelsea would be a firecracker of a move, but just think our budget restrictions rule it out. However in Edu we trust.
Hi Charles from Toronto via Nigeria!
Hi Charles, would it not make sense to go for a Ferran Torres or Raphinha from Barcelona as they need to offload or even if we went in for Sterling or even Rashford.. which one of these 4 players would you want in before the window shuts ? Hopefully Mbeumo comes next year.
Good morning Charles 🌞
Prime Seaman was his 90/91 season probably best keeper performance Ive ever seen that year. Was it only 18 goals conceded.
If Nelson stays then likely we will get a striker as we have Saka, Jesus n Nelson on right side. I still hope we can get 2 more assuming Nelson left or loan out. We need more floor raiser for attacking line.
Any news on Merino is the transfer done or close ??????
I've seen a video of Merino with the team at London Colney. Merino is done.
I don’t think a forward is enough. We need a player who can get the ball down and run with it. Attacking mid who can replace odegaard if he gets injured or tired, and we need a forward as well. Seeing players coming in at City and Chelsea tells you this is a non negotiable
"Edu's Critical 72 Hours" sounds like the title of a 1980s action thriller starring Eddie Murphy
Can't see a cf coming in.who good enough is available ?.they are not going spend 90 odd mill on a cf..I'm hoping it's a wide player as cover for saka
Calma
Hi charles
I know we all want a rw but who exactly will you be expecting at this point in the window ?
Nico Williams is staying
Olise is gone
Neto is gone
Who do you want? Lamine Yamal? 😂
Would be nice to get someone to compete with our star boy, but we have just spent the whole window trimming the fat of the squad, best not buy another fabio in haste because " we need someone"
Love the show mate, watch almost everyday keep it up!
KT the new Cedric.
need at least 2 more plus the goalie if Ramsdale goes. Dont see it, we are gonna be short
This Kivior situation is puzzling didn't Arsenal just buy him? I just feel he hasn't been given enough time.
They bought him in Jan 2023. He's had chances. I don't think he's at the right level for Arsenal. I'm surprised that he's not been sold
Seaman save was against Stoke wasn't it? Paul Peskisolido.....not sure on spelling lol 😂
To get £65m for Eddie and ESR is excellent business 🤝
I've got a sneaky suspicion that we'll end up trying to sign either mudryk or sterling from Chelsea. They both have different histories with arteta but given that they are both available, I can't help but think that arteta and edu will do all that they can to take advantage of the complete insanity that is going on at the club and get one of them.
Same here, just like the jorghino and other deals with Chelsea. Might get both if the deal is too good for Edu to turn down.
I still think we see Eddie and Nelson and maybe Ramsdale leave and thne Edu pulling off something gigantic on deadline day coming in
Honestly I don’t understand the debate with Leo and Martinelli. They both work really hard, the one is way faster, the other can use both feet. The one scores and assists and unfortunately the other doesn’t have the confidence. Play the guy who performs week in and out simple enough. Give gabi time to build his confidence again by coming on off the bench and let him run at people who are tired
Sorry ! Viera had shown nothing in 2 years and what is the point of Kiwior staying ? Attacking signing is crucial !

This is one of the strangest windows we have ever seen. (Manchester City is stronger this season remember last season, Debruyne was injured for 4 months, Haaland was injured too, and Gündoğan back), Liverpool is still there
I think with the signings we made I am convinced we are going to finish 2nd, and we might win the FA or Carlin Cup
I really am sad😢
Taken weeks to sign 2 players while our rivals sign players overnight. Our rivals also buying top forwards. So far this window has been like the Wenger days.
How can we get a new player in three days…..does it not take a long time.
What is the inside arsenal FPL code ?
Honestly, Just go out and get Nico Williams. Alternatively a clinical striker, but there aren't many about. I don't think Osimhen is that guy fwiw.
International break 4 games into a season is a joke
I think the necessity of bringing in another attacking player depends on how confident we are about G. Jesus' health and if we keep Reiss.
We have 8 good-to-great quality versatile players for 4 attack-minded positions:
-Saka (RW)
-Odegaard (R-8)
-Havertz (Str, R-8)
-Trossard (LW, Str)
-Martinelli (LW, RW)
-G. Jesus (LW, Str, RW)
-Nwaneri (R-8, RW)
-Reiss (LW, RW)
It was the first half of the season, and growing pains of figuring out our formation after bringing in Havertz and Rice, that cost us the title last season.
Eddie out
Viera out
ESR out
Jesus injured
Who is going to be our attacking rotation options ?? We need more than Trossard
Trossard to rotate all 3 attacking position alone 😅
I really don't get this idea that Martinelli will magically kick into gear if Trossard plays well, it just doesn't work like that.
Neither should be starting for a team looking to be the best in the world.
I'm content for Reiss to stay. He will get minutes and I think Arteta regards him is a good professional.
This is comedy gold. 105 million for Rice, new contracts for all our major stars. Allowed Arsenal to get Partey on deadline day having to pay the transfer fee in full. We are staying compliant with psr
Szczney no longer available as a homegrown gk, he retired about half an hour ago
We have to sign a backup striker now its imperative
Am I the only one who thinks Palace are going to have a worse season than Forrest? I feel like Eddie made a poor choice, wish him all the best, but definitely glad he’s gone
Arsenal will atleast sign a winger.
Knowing arsenal areleady agreed terms with Nico and his buyout for last day lol
If we let Liverpool get Chiesa for 12 mill and we don't sign a winger i'll be so mad
id take a fiver for eddie and have to give 4.99 in change
The best save by Ramsdale was against Salah's shot 2 seasons ago, followed up by that save against Konate. I think they top the maddison save, which was going nowhere near the corner.
Top 10?!

You sound miserable
Gyökeres!
how much has the switch from forest to palace cost us, charles? i'd be interested to know how much nketiah has cost us before letting go of any grudges.
Sign a proper striker and use Jesus as a back up on both wings. I feel Jesus is more of a capable winger than a striker and of course his recurring injuries record.
Jesus sicknote, hes our darren anderton or jamie redknapp, never fit crap anyway
This video is the best escape from reality. I now live in a world of laughter and kittens💝
Shambles of a transfer window. It's disrespectful to every fan of Arsenal and Edu is a disgrace
imagine being this miserable
Yeah, I’ve heard since he put away the Reggae Reggae sauce he’s about to sign Maradonna, Ronaldo and Baggio! FFS
