    Very, very helpful! Your approach is flexible with smart guidelines, but few "rules". Thank you.

    I'm glad you didn't say to wait 5 or 10 minutes between layers.

    Thank you so much Dr. Jenny! Your tips and suggestions are very helpful and appreciated…I know that skincare is personal but there are so many variables that it’s great to hear your thoughts…thanks again!

    You answered so many of my questions concerning tretenoin and rosacea. Using the sandwich method has helped me. But this summer when my rosacea flares up, I am planning on trying Avene retrinal instead.

    Great video, I used a new tube of tretinion last night and used on totally dry skin, woke up to skin that stings...I think the new tube of tretinoin was potent. Today it's just the I'm From Rice Toner and Stratia Lipid Gold.

    Thank you I have prescription azelaic acid 15% Finacea it’s cream texture and I was applying it after my serums but wasn’t sure that it was correct beacuse I had read that prescriptions should be applied first on dry skin after cleansing but I normally follow the rule thinest to thickest so last night I tried it first which I normally don’t do and it just didn’t feel right I’m going to continue to use it as I was after serums thanks ☺️

    Can you discuss the proper way of skin cycling? For example, if youre using benzyl peroxide, tretinoin, & azaleic acid

      Just avoid using leave on BPO with tretinoin but cleanser is fine. You can use tret and azelaic acid together

    What about copper peptides, dry or damp skin? what is compatible? thank you very much!

    • @dr.jennyliu
      @dr.jennyliu  5 месяцев назад +10

      Honestly either is fine. Damp just enchances absorption

    • @dr.jennyliu

      Compatible with most ingredients, I do recommend maybe not using with pure vit C

    Can I use copper peptides with retinol?

    Thank you Dr. Jenny! If I wait 5 to 20 minutes after applying the retinol, can I dampen my face with a toner to enhance the penetration of the moisturizer that goes after the retinol? Also, can artificial light affect the retinol?

    I have very, very dry skin on my face from forehead to chin caused by my diabetes. I am 76 year old Caucasian and my dermatologist told me to use Cera ve It doesn’t help at all! Every morning I wake up and it is flakes all over my face. I can remove them from my face but they just come back shortly afterwards. Please advise me what you think I need to do. Thank you very much!

      Hi, you could try the Aveeno calm and restore cleanser at night only (don't use a cleanser in the morning), For a spf, try a moisturizer fps like the La Roche Posay Toleriane Sensitive Crème UV or a kbeauty sunscreen. It's chemical sunscreens. Pm : Aveeno calm and restore serum with oat, and slugging with Cicaplast B5 . Wait for your skin to dry than if it's not enough You could add a thin layer of Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Nighttime Moisturizing Balm with Colloidal Oatmeal & Ceramide as an occlusive on top. don't forget to not use any active ¸with this. Good luck until you find a dermatologist to help!

    Hi Dr. Jenny! You mentioned not to use more than 2 actives in your routine. Are peptides or peptides with GF considered to be actives?

    • @dr.jennyliu
      @dr.jennyliu  5 месяцев назад +2

      I would maybe rephrase to say limit to two additional products outside of your moisturizer

    I have been on 0.25 tretinion for about 1.5 years before i saw my dermatologist again because I still had hormonal acne & dark marks after a breakout. She told me to use .025 tretinion all over my face (like I do normally) and then put new prescription-the emulsion (.5% hydrocortisone + 6% hydroquinone + .025% tretinion) right on the acne marks. OMG! My face is still trying to recover. I don’t know what happened but the pimples came back so much worse 😢 so sad about it and not sure what to do at this point. I called my MD and nurse called back a week later to say just apply it a few days per week instead of daily. I stop using everything at this point since my skin is so red, dry, and hurts! Any advise is appreciated!

    Hi Dr. Jenny! May I know how long do I have to use epiduo and azelaic acid alternately in a week before I use them together in a single night routine? My contact dermatitis just got healed last week☺️
