I upgraded to the SharkRF OpenSpot 4 Pro ham radio hotspot recently and I filmed this video the day it came in the mail, all the way from Estonia to Texas!
In this video I give a little bit of an overview, compare it to my MMDVM Pi-Star hotspot and walk you through how to setup the Shark RF OpenSpot 4 Pro in 5 minutes or less for DMR mode and give some of my initial thoughts on this digital hotspot!

Is the openSPOT4 Pro just for listening or for connecting a HT radio?
The OpenSpot 4 Pro is for connecting an HT radio. In order to connect to a server, you'll need a ham radio license and a radio ID from radioID.net.

I clicked off as soon as I heard the gross misunderstanding and misinformation spewed about the fundamentals of digital voice and hotspots. That was brutal. 😮
@@KC1PRF the app is was showing is openspot4.local. You must be connected to the same network that your OpenSpot 4 is on in order to access it.
