I have worked on cars for decades. Every time we get a newer car in the family fleet, I like a quick refresher before a job just to see if there are any quirks that I should know about. This is easily the best video I have watched on brakes. Straight forward, no obnoxious info, graphics or music and very well done. Thanks much.
Came here to see if the calipers had any weird sensors glad to see they don't, but as someone who works on their own cars I will say you did a good job explaining everything, very thorough 🤘
Thank you so much! There’s some tools I might need to pick up but this made me confident I can replace these myself instead of paying a shop hundreds of dollars. Very concise and thorough!!
I've seen lots of videos where they don't slide the warning indicator in the tab. Thanks for confirming that I did it the right way. I was beginning to doubt myself.
You should be a maintenance instructor. I'm not impressed with most videos, but yours is totally AWESOME. Thanks for sharing my friend, you saved me a bunch of money.
Can’t remember if I’ve commented on your video before but this is the second time I’ve used your video to replace my brake pads and rotors! Thanks very much for the awesome video!
The way you Explained the instructions in this video is so accurate. Thanks to you. I was able to change my brakes and my rotors on my car instead of paying $1500 to get off of them delay. Thank you so much. This was so helpful.
By far, the best video on this subject I've seen! Thank you. I like that you added text to the video also. Not taking the time to clean and lube the parts as you've described just cost me the price of at least one rotor.
This is good! I actually had some friends do my brakes for me because I wasn't going to pay seven hundred dollars for an auto place to do it. But I think I need to become my own mechanic from now on. Hahaha! But learning to do brakes on my sentra is something I need to learn. Thanks for sharing!
This is a great!, Brake quotes around here are $400 all day job apparently.. & u get rotors wether u need em or not 😅 I think I'm gonna do this myself.
Good video, nice simple brake job. I would recommend removing the brake fluid reservoir cap before trying to compress the piston in the caliper though.
Better yet crack open the bleeder valve on the caliper to evacuate the old fluid as you push the pistons back in. That way IF you happen to have some contamination in the brake system you don't push that back into the antilock valve, Causing more problems.
Always open the bleeder valve when compressing the piston because those brake lines have one way valves for anti lock brake system. Reverse fluid flow will damage that valve.
Great video. I’m glad I found it because I’m getting ready to do this on my coworker’s car for a little extra cash. What brand is the split beam torque wrench you’re using in this video? Also, you said torque the last caliper slide bolts to 20 foot pounds, but the torque wrench in your link is 25 foot pounds at its lowest setting.
@1:46 After brushing the surface, can you apply the Navy Rust Remover to remove more rust, or it is not good to apply it in that area? And @3:09 same question about Navy Rust Remover application. @2:15 What a brilliant idea to clean the rotors that way! Thank you for the informative and detailed film.
Doing this job with your parts... but I cannot get the caliper bracket bolts off the front driver side. They wont budge! tried an impact driver, a long socket and a 220 lb weight on it (me...) and they wont even flinch. Got any suggestions?
@@lucaswang93 finally managed to get that one off with some penetrating oil, giant adjustable pliers, a hammer, and some luck.... I got the first bolt off, but the second stripped.... After wacking at it for an hour, the second finally came loose. Same exact problem on the back right passenger wheel. 😭. So far no luck on that one after 4 days of trying.
Thanks for that useful video. Can you tell where the caliper pins with the rubber bushings belong? Top or bottom? I have a 2017 sentra. I took em out without realizing which goes where
@@lucaswang93 Rent a breaker bar from Autozone (buy it, then return it) to take off the bolt. Makes the job easier because of the extra torque you can apply to the bolt due to the longer length of the bar.
@@jasonm1702 Happened to me too. Had to buy a Drive Bolt Extractor Set from Autozone to grip the stripped bolt as well as a breaker bar to more easily loosen the bolt. They let me return it after as part of their loan a tool program.

Remember to open the cap to the brake fluid reservoir before compressing the caliper

Fantastic tutorial. I performed both sides in 1.5 hours just as your video processed through it. Thank you!

The perfect brake changing instructional video
Awesome video! Thank you so much, I’m thinking about becoming an Uber driver and want to start doing most of my own maintenance

Always told to unscrew brake reservoir cap to allow for brake fluid being pushed back into it
Great video I just changed my brakes with ease, you explained everything perfectly 💪🏽👍🏽
Thank you for this video, just changed my partners rotors this helped!

Thanks to your good quality, clear info video I did my own brakes maintenance.
Did most of these steps just with way less grease and brakes still make a grinding noise. Could it be from a lack of grease?
came here to see how to install the little springs on top of pads but you didnt even put hem on :)

this video is so clear, does it work for a 2020 sentra front brake pads?

Thanks for the video all though I don’t have all of the fancy tools at home!? Does it really matter for the grease part or no?
Is it necessary to compress the piston?
122 ft lbs of torque for the caliper bracket bolts? Everything I've seen says 72.
what if i don’t have a brake compressor tool, can i just skip that.
I really appreciate it this video help me a lot
Where does the pin with the rubber go...top or bottom?
Do you need a compression tool for the caliper or can you do it another way
It's easier with the compression tool that I can tell you.
c clamp works well
@@corlynb7030 i used old brake pad and a C clamp to compress the caliber.
If you've been working out, you can grab the caliper and push the piston back with your thumbs.
Do you have a less expensive piston compression tool that you could recommend?
The one in your link is like $75.
Amazing thank you 🙏🏾
How far do you compress the pistons??
I was wondering what the extra ears on the hardware were for. Maybe that's why my brand new rotors are getting scratched up.
No lubricant on the back of the pad just around the clips correct
?
Thanks man gotta do the mother in law car
+Derrick Williams Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
What kind of grease are you using?
What Size Socket fits Caliper ?
Those caliper bolts made this job impossible.
I was daring and used an impact drill. They were almost impossible to get off. I stripped one now I'm going to the store to figure something out
I'm stuck in this part too

Amazing! Thanks!
great video !!!
i just bought your kit and had a question, Do i need to bleed the brake lines?
+Slepp Thanks for watching! You do not need to bleed the brake lines if you are just looking to replace the pads and rotors.
Great thanks for the info 👍
Great video. Thanks...
Need to do the rear as well
Thank you!
Видео конечно хорошее и точное и понятное. Но ничего нового нет. Я думал что то новое и не известное
I realized I might enjoy tinkering and fixing things. Hobbie maybe for me yea
122 for torque
This guy in this video need to be more Pacific on how to slowly to the calitor I think that what called idk over the brakes step by step
Que Dios nos perdone.
