Song is powerful man. Had this playing at my grandmas funeral. It’s a song honoring his mother.
I was in his concert. My son was close to death. We had dedicated all our time to him, and took him to the concert. It was bitter sweet, but we all cried. I cry every time I hear this.
Great reaction! This song was about his mother who had died while he was on tour in Acapulco, it’s even mentioned in the lyrics. Juan Gabriel is an icon throughout all of Latin America. There isn’t one Latino who doesn’t know this song, it’s played almost at every Mexican funeral. My own grandmother was buried to this song. There’s not a dry eye in the room when this song plays. You should react to “Hasta Que Te Conocí” also by Juan Gabriel. He originally gave “Amor Eterno” to his friend Rocio Dúrcal, whose rendition is absolutely beautiful, as he didn’t feel ready to sing this song until later on. You could see how emotional he is here! Again, great reaction billy!
that song is dedicated to mothers brother
when they are no longer with us
This song is played at funerals when a mother passes away.
Don't be ashamed Billy. We all cry to this song . . .
This song its play in funerals all across México and in the Latino community in USA. Its a powerful song. Juan Gabriel was the master of the writing and interpret his own songs. It's a sad song, but with unique lyrics of love and sorrow.
it's true, his songwriting skills were on a whole other level! HE WAS THE BIGGEST SONGWRITER IN WHOLE LATINO AMERICA, IN FACT! from the 70th to the 90th to the beginning of 2000 95% of all Latin america's ballads were written by him, stars from every genre were trying desperately to get Juan Gabriel to write songs for them! Juan Gabriel was the prince of Latin America when it comes to songwriting!
I believe he wrote over 1000 songs in different genres. He’s one of the best!
Almost 2,000 song
1,820 to be exact
Mi abuelita 😭
The pain in his voice is palpable. Just lovely.🔥🔥🔥🔥
This pure soul music . That’s why it’s felt by o black brothers and sisters who listen to it .
Please react to juan Gabriel - hasta que te conocí- is great
Gabriel Jimenez hell yea !!
Be honest with me, fid you realy wanted to cry?? I cry every tome I hear this song, he (I'm sure someone already told you) wrote this after his mom passed... So, for everyone in grief, or with a recent loss, feels this song deeply
It reminds me of my dad that passed away ❤️
I’m sorry for your loss
I'm sorry for your loss. My dad's passing has been hard this year but the lyrics that Juan sings are poignant and meaningful to me.
Pedro De Leon I’m so sorry for loss , I k ow what you are goin through and all I can’t tell you is that always remember the good times ❤️
@@desiremarsh4747 I will. Thank you. Me miro en el espejo y siempre lo veo.
This song, honestly there are no words to describe it the song just speaks for itself. When i listen to this song personally i think of my childhood, my parents, and my grandparents. It is such a powerful song especially Juan gabriel best of the best singer and songwriter ever!
This song is about his Mom passing away and how deeply painful it is for him to be alive feeling so lonely with out his mother. This is a beautiful song for those mothers that are no longer here...he had a very hard and sad life beginning with his childhood, his mother was so poor she gave him up and he was an orphan. After living poor and in the streets and suffering without parents he still made this song for his mother when she passed away. This is my interpretation of the lyrics and yes this song makes anyone cry man …. " I want to dedicate this song with a lot of love and respect, more than a song his is a prayer to all the mothers especially to those who are a little further to me (in heaven) You are the pain & sadness of my eyes, that cry in silence for your love. I see myself in the mirror and I see my face of suffering I have suffered for your loss, I try to obligate my thoughts to forget as I am always thinking about yesterday. I rather be sleeping than awake of how much, how much it hurts that you are not here. How I would love that you were alive, that your sweet little eyes would have never closed and that I could be staring into them, Eternal Love, unforgettable. But sooner or later I will be rejoined with you so we can keep loving each other (heaven) I have suffered a lot for your absence, since that day until now I am not happy. And although I have my conscience clean I know I could have done much more for you. Dark solitude I am living, the same solitude of your burial mother. You are the Love of witch I have the saddest memory of Acapulco (Chorus repeats) eyes that have shed so many tears for sufferings, love, pain and waiting. Solitude, that's all I have left and memories of you that make it much more sad the anguish I have of always thinking of you....)
This song is so hard to listen to without getting choked up and tearing up, powerful song. This was played when my uncles and my grandfather passed away.
When you've lost a loved one it's very hard not to
My grandpa 😢 I immigrated to the US as a small kid without my grandparents knowing or they would've stopped us from coming to the US. I never had the chance to say goodbye which I regret. He died a few years back on December and I was so heart broken I couldn't go back to see him one last time.
JuanGa is the best!! His pain transformed into art.
This song was performed last night for Kobe at staples center. Check it out.
This song reminds me of my Nana. I don’t speak Spanish but I remember his voice and face playing on her TV. One particular time my parents went on vacation to Hawaii and so my sister and I stayed with my Nana for a week. She wouldn’t let us watch our cartoons and she didn’t have toys for us to play with. We were only able to watch her novelas and I remember Sabado Gigante variety show. Needless to say we were so bored and she made us clean and do chores. All of the comforts of my home and the first time away from my parents made me really really homesick. I missed my parents, especially my mom so much. I distinctly remember being in her bedroom lying in the bed in the dark, the door cracked with the light peeking thru and my Nana listening to Juan Gabriel and this song playing. I started sobbing. I didn’t understand what he was saying but his emotional tone and me missing my mom broke my little soul. Now at 40 years old I understand Spanish more I can really appreciate the song even more and thank God for that memory of her because she was my closest connection to my culture. Every time I hear his voice I think of her. The smell of her, the plastic on the sofas, the warmth in her eyes and her soft hands. 🥰🥰
Truly, something that you will carry, for the rest of your days, something really special.
I love that you recognize how magical he was.
My grandparents! 😭😭😭 every time no matter what, as soon as I hear it, it takes me back to their funeral. It's been 26 and 24 years, and it still hurt!
this song reminds me of my grandmother who raised me and had to be both my mother and my father. every Saturday after breakfast and Saturday morning cartoons. we would blast music in the house and do housework while singing and dancing. it was mostly Spanish music. we both had an eclectic taste in music so sometimes it was other genres like disco or 50s and 60s music or sometimes it was popular music on the radio... but the music that fed our souls more than anything was Spanish music. anything from salsa to mariachi to reggaeton to cumbia to latin pop anything really. so most of my best memories about my grandma are memories of us blasting music while we clean house and sing and dance at the same time.she passed in 2007 4 days after Christmas. i was 17 and one semester from graduating high school. her biggest dream was to see me walk across the stage and see me get my diploma. so it was really hard for me to go back to school a week after she passed when winter break was over. when she passed we hired a mariachi to play at her wake, and after the funeral ceremony when we went to her gravesite. they played this song as they lowered her into the ground. up until that moment, i hadn't cried. i was pretty numb and zombie-like and then as soon as i heard the opening notes of this song i just lost it. my aunts and i made a video ( a compilation of photos of her growing up and then all of her kids and her family all set to her favorite rendition of amazing grace by LeAnn Rhymes sung acapella and then at the end footage of the funeral) for family members in other cities that didnt get to attend the funeral. we had already made plans to visit all of them with my grandma that summer after i graduated before i went off to college. so though they werent able to go they can still have some closure and feel like they were there. so yeah anytime i hear this song i think of her.
Juan Gabriel is a composer and singer. He is also was known as a Diva. I never get tired of listening to his songs.
You know this one will definitely come up now.
Jose Jose - El Triste (vivo 1970)
Great thing you had the lyrics up to grasp the message behind the song.
This one here is another Mexican icon with the song that skyrocketed his career.
Mariachi y Juan Gabriel la mejor combinacion que puede existir en musica para nosotros Los mexicanos ... felicidades billyYouSoCrazy por mostrar Al Mundo que tan hermosa cancion existe....
It reminds me of my precious Grandma. She was not only my grandma but my best friend since I was a child. My confidant. My Mom. I was privileged and blessed to have her in my life for 49 years. She passed at 93 years I was with her the last 2 1/2 years of her life.

He opens the song by saying that not only is this song a poem, but it's a prayer. A prayer for all mothers.
This always makes me cry... It always reminds me of my grandpa.. a trio played this song while we say goodbye to him... Juan Gabriel practically gave us the best song to remember the love that is no longer with us....
Man when when he turns to the camera and sings his heart out without even a microphone in his hand is like .... WOW

He sang with Rocio Durcal who is the best interpreter of Juan Gabriel songs.
It’s a sad beautiful song that makes me tear up every time, you should hear it sang by Rocio Dúrcal one of his good friends!
My childhood reminds me of my grandparents good times
Billy, it was so awesome to watch you react and cry. So special to know that you can feel the emotion without the words.
This is the song that the CIA would use to check if you are really Mexican or not- if you don't cry....you are not. :)
BillyYSC, its ok to cry. They played this song at my fathers funeral Feb 8, 2022. RIP dad!
Thank you, thank you, thank you brO, for this reaction! 🙏
💔😢 every time because it’s regarding his mother and your mother in life is everything ❤️
He wrote this song for his mother she worked as a maid and we he became famous he bought the house she cleaned because he always promised her as a boy someday he would. He wrote 1,800 songs but recorded a 1,000,many singers requested that he would right for them.
Yes, great reaction! Very lovely, and sad song. He loved his mother so much, even though she basically abandoned him as a child. Great example of honoring our mothers (and fathers) despite any hardships or wrongs they may have put their children through.
This song is used for comfort when a loved one pass way
My grandma used to love listening to him before she passed away
Amazing
This song more than a song is an anthem for us Mexicans. Juan Gabriel was one if not the best composer of Latin America, great performer, amazing singer and always humble. If you pay attention to his songs musical arrangements are genius. BTW his shows would last 5-6 hours long. This song is played a lot in funerals because of its meaning and stating our eternal love for our loved ones who passed
It makes me think of my mother she’s still with me but the day she goes this song will fuck me up
I used to love to sing to this song. After I lost my grandmother I am un able to with out choking and tearing up.

Bro,This is the # 1 song for spanish speakers bro and he also is the # 1 singer in mexican along with vicente fernandez, by the way this song has been played in funerals that's why its called eternal love, by the way this song was written by him and dedicated to his mom who died, this song is very emotional and it's 1 of greatest song ever....this is an eternal song.

Bonita reaccion
I just commented on another video suggesting this!! OMG 😳 I feel like I time travel!! Thank you for reacting to this!!!
Great reaction. I even shared it to my brother, son and nephew to watch. The power of Juan Gabriel was undeniable and reached beyond Mexico and now beyond genres and languages. Every song was a story from his personal past, that is why every song is so meaningful, sensitive, full of love, sometimes funny but a well told story. His vocal abilities were so captivating, along with his stage presence. I had the awesome honor and pleasure of watching him twice in his prime. From the first song till the last, which was normally over 3 hours, no one was sitting. Everyone was standing, dancing and singing along with this true ICON from Mexico.
Amor Eterno, is a song that is sung at many Mexican or Latino funerals. The words say everything. Eternal Love!
As soon as I heard the intro to this song I started crying. This song has so much meaning. Such beautifully sung. They played this at my mothers and grandparents funerals.

React to Juan Gabriel querida live 2013
It’s all about love. Love for those that have left this world. I think of my mom and my cousins every time. Also, the mariachi sing this at funerals during the church ceremony. It makes you cry harder but I think it’s needed, so all of the hurt comes out. :-)
The lyrics of the song are deep if you lost someone you loved
