There’s A LOT of potential with this park. Bottom line is that this is a budget amusement park. But it’s probably one of the best budget amusement parks you’re going to find in the US, especially with some of the planned expansion & the fact there’s a lot of land around the park the could be developed. When we were there, it was very clean, didn’t have any issues with rides breaking down, and there were many families that genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves. The fact of the matter is that, since Six Flags NOLA closed, there are no theme/amusement parks from Houston all the way through the Florida panhandle. This includes Mobile & Pensacola which are the 2 largest population centers between NOLA & Tampa, and this park has the potential to truly fix that.
I appreciate how thorough your park reports are. Your love of it all is evident and joyful. Also helpful for other enthusiasts. Your criticisms are fair and often include positive suggestions on how parks and rides might improve. Good job, Coaster Studios!
I was there on their first day of operation. Not everything was open, but I got to ride most things. They have a pretty great selection of flat rides and I like rollin Thunder pretty good. Hopefully at some point they can add a coaster that really stands out. And the Waterpark should bring a lot of guests as well
I went day 1 as well and have an opening week t-shirt. Definitely room for growth but it’s nice considering there’s nothing else like it in the area. I go a few times a year and it’s nice to see the progress with new stores opening up and the waterpark being built.
Just went for the first time today for my work’s employee appreciation day, I live about an hour and a half away from Foley. We only spent 3 hours at the park itself and hit almost every ride, some rides twice. Rollin’ Thunder was absolutely the best ride there. The Mystic Manor dark ride guns weren’t working very well at all for some reason, but the AC was nice. The other rides felt very much like an upscale state fair or something like that. Overall it’s a good visit for locals and anyone dropping by the area, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone making a special trip to spend the whole day just yet. It’s a young park with a lot of growing room.
This is my home park, it’s two hours away, the next closest park is six flags over Georgia, it’s 5 hours away, we seriously have no parks in the south😭

Tropic Falls, the water park is set to open this May. Costing $70 million dollars, it will host a wave pool, surf simulator, lazy river, and 11 slides! Living about 20 minutes from OWA, this makes me very excited, as I hope they start investing in the dry park with B&Ms, and Intamins. I know they can afford it, I just don’t know if they know about the companies or what they build. Zamparela just isn’t a big coaster manufacturer.
I went for my second time back in September and I must say it’s a great little park! It’s definitely not a full day park, but the food in the complex is good and the rides aren’t half bad either! 7/10
I live bout 5 miles away and drive past it every week or so. I remember watching it get built and now watching the waterpark being built is crazy. The little parks growing up. The waterpark is finna be so fun.
Just went today, with the water park and conversion to the title of Tropic Falls I will say it is now at least a full day experience. This video is still a very accurate breakdown of the park area though. It was nice, taken care of, but hot and empty lol. We fortunately saw no technical problems. Had lots of fun on the rides, however most of our time was spent in the waterpark.
My mom moved from Ohio to Foley 2 years ago, and I have been twice. Now, growing up my home park was Cedar Point, now as a resident of the DC metro we split between Busch Gardens VA and (unfortunately) SixFlags America. OWA is great for families, I have two girls, 8 and 11. They ride almost everything, and the 11 year old grew from year to year enough to try Rolling Thunder, her first looping coaster. Both times I have visited, in October and November respectively, it was vacant. We got to know some of the ride ops names... it felt like concierge service.... where at one point in the kids area one operator walked us around to each ride and ran it for us... odd experience. Only one food outlet is ever open, and there was never a line. Nothing at the park is standout, but at the same time, everything is acceptable. Compact, tidy, kind staff, relatively inexpensive. A great way to spend 3 to 5 hours if you happen to be in the Foley / Gulf Shores area. I do prefer the Zamperla spinning mouse to the Reverchon (I didn't spell that right) models that are nearly identical. Smoother. I am hoping for an expansion one day involving a gravity group woodie, or maybe the new Vekoma STC/Family boomerang combo that is popping up in Europe, but I don't think attendance warrants that yet. My mother tells me that a Casino is forthcoming, which may drive more regular traffic to the area? Maybe. I can't believe you made it down to Foley! Amusement park pickings got slim there for a while, huh? Crossing fingers for a normal 2021! I want to ride Pantheon...
Went to OWA last week while at Hangout fest in Gulf shores. Was a fun little park, Rolling Thunder had some kick, indoor water park was cool too. Great lottle park, no need to spend more than 6 hours there
I went there a year ago and it was pretty good. You’re right about the technical issues though. When I went, a few of the rides were closed due to technical issues.
I'm not sure how else to say it - maybe someone else will understand what I'm getting at - but the entire shopping section outside of the park itself looks like it was designed on Planet Coaster. All of the building exteriors look artificially perfect. It was strange enough that I recorded a walkthrough of it. The burger joint looked like it wasn't even a real restaurant. Rolling Thunder was fun, but as a coaster enthusiast I can't see myself going back there unless they get another big coaster.... not a Zamperla.
Brennan from GP to Enthusiast just put up a video about Zamperla Disco rides. He mentioned that they are overkill on the safety features and it's really easy to get an error on the ride if you don't do things in exact order or if the ride vehicle isn't parked exactly down to the millimeter in the correct spot. so maybe that's why all the rides went down at some point in the day
You should do a review for Legoland in San Diego. I've only been once around the time it first opened and I'm curious to know how it's changed since then.
My opinion is solid and here it is. So the rides are very solid there could be more but those are ok. I went when they had the indoor waterpark and it was fun. Alot of people though if there was less people for the water area it would be fun. Also there was less people for the rides than the water-park.

My opinion: It’s a great park. Not really the best for theme park enthusiast like myself. I recently went for the 2nd time a couple of weeks before Halloween. It got busy, as this was a weekend. As you said in your Rollin Thunder review, Zamperla has a long way to go with their coaster designs. The park almost feels like it was made in Planet Coaster or something. It has a clean feel and could go a long way. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Park at OWA decided to utilize the rest of its land to extend the park.

Honestly it’s a alright theme park definitely won’t need the whole day? Unless you acutely take time there and stop by the little stores then somewhat of the whole day
