I've already accepted that I most likely won't be able to get my hands on one until January. They're impossible to find. don't really mind, I guess. I never played Demon's Souls, so I have a question. Is there a benefit to beating Vanguard (beyond satisfaction), because that's a lot of health for a boss that doesn't seem very interesting.

@@aceboogie8941 I certainly don't. If you find it boring, then it's not your cup of tea. Just like some people love RTS type of games, some don't, including me. Many of my friends tried to persuade me to play it. I even played some of the games. In the end, I just don't find it enjoyable.

As a fan of the original, I am not sure about the remade intro. The original intro was 100% bleak, eerie and striking, and totally unique to this day. I remember accidentally showing the intro of OG Demon's Souls to my mom back in 2010 and she was stunned speechless. Then she asked me "what's going on with the music? Is that supposed to be wailing of the ghosts?" Exactly the point.

That's the best way to play souls games. Not hiding behind a shield, but with agility and precision.
This game looks beautiful but also the sound is just phenomenal. The voice acting is brilliant, I love the little details like a quick gasp right before dodging an incoming attack. Plus, the sound of the characters panting as they run mixed in with the ominous soundscape of the environment is real spooky.

I really love how they added some breathing sounds when running I heavy armor. You can just feel the burden but able with your own strength. Doesn't matter how strong you are you feel the weight bouncing when jogging along.

Having played the original, it being my first souls game, this is such a blast of nostalgia but also really interesting to seeing how different it is both in cinematics (they move their mouth while they talk and the camera angles!) and gameplay. Seeing the nexus I felt a feeling of joy

The detail is insane, and this is performance mode.
For a console its okay. But it's nothing like a 4k experience on a PC that's got enough kick to do it justice. But don't look it up. You'll never be able to look at a console experience in the same way.

@@kennykij1 gotcha lol, well unfortunately Halo was our biggest launch title but that was delayed. So right now we don’t have any real big exclusives but the performance, backwards compatibility, Game pass value it’s just so much more it has to offer so it out weighs the exclusives for now. It’s really the power and value of Xbox that drives it right now. PlayStations exclusives aren’t really blockbuster yet. Spider-Man is more like a DLC rather then full game, and Ragnarok, horizon etc isn’t launching yet so next gen really needs about a year before we can really see what’s going to happen. So at this point it’s really who you play online with the most.
Picking up my PS5 in 2 hours from Best Buy. Already got Demon’s Souls can’t wait to play it.

Performance mode was confirmed by the developers to be 1440p 60fps where 1440p is upscaled to 4k. Not native 4k that should be noted for anyone who cares.
The slow roll through the entire gameplay was painful. Just take the shield off of you're not going to use it 🤦🏻♂️
The lip syncing when talking to Npcs is actually pretty amazing
