    What you did there with the kryptonite going back to 1 for the open ... that's the sort of make or break logic that makes a great picker I think. (Or you had the lock memorized) I'd have kept going to check on down the stack to see if I'd dropped 4 5 or 6 first and probably have overset one of them in the process. These videos are so educational, thank you!

    Almost 11 minutes of tension and great entertainment - awesome demonstration of your skills - fantastic show. Thank you :-)

      There was some time in the beginning before he started picking, and he finished at 10:19 I believe.
      Ten(10) locks picked in about 9 minutes and 40 seconds. Very cool.
      Always love the videos.

    Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning the thicknesses of the tools in your videos.

    Unbelievable. This is a video I'll watch a few more times to nail my locks. Although technically I have opened mine just not with the same consistency as you did with yours. Super to watch.

      Thanks. Sounds like you have all the skills... just need a little more practice to up your consistency.

    I learn a lot from just watching how great lock pickers like you progress through a lock, or through your mistakes. Excellent video.

      Thanks... and yes, holding the locks at an awkward angle in front of the camera is definitely a workout!

    Amazing video, I hate when I pick a lock and then drop my tension and it relocks. Ever since I watched your first video (I think its your first) This is how I practice picking. I don't go through them that fast but its fun.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 лет назад +4

      Thanks... That Master at the end surprised me. Much higher core tension than any of the others. I wasn't expecting it and the tension slipped. I'm convinced doing things like this really is he best way to practice.

    great vid , very speedy picking the 2nd lock, kriptonite went quicker than expected however the red one made up for it, and the last one so annoying ! well done great marathon picking...

      Thanks. Not sure what happened of the second kryptonite. Probably overset something, because everything went mushy on me.

      LOL... holding the locks up at an awkward angle in front of the camera while tensioning them was, indeed, the hardest part of this.

    Impressive demonstration. Have you had a chance to play with a Lockwood 301/63? It looks to be the same style of lock. I like your training idea, especially since I started trying it a couple of days ago. :) Very happy that I'm apparently on the right track.

    • @lockpickinglawyer

      Thanks. I've never had the opportunity to try a Lockwood 301/63... not so common here.

  • @HG-pv9nj

    Thank you once again. I am very interested in the way you use the tension tool and the amount of tension you apply as you move through the pin stacks. Pity I'm on the other side of the planet, would like some One on one tuition. Look forward to your next video.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 лет назад

      Thanks... tension is hard to explain since you always find yourself adapting tension to the lock. If you have not already seen it, check out video #188 for my general approach.

    I love doing that I do all my cylinders first then padlocks and end on my kik. Been waiting for a month now on my dimple picks, can't wait to get those into the rotation. Very nice picking.

      +LockPickingLawyer I just got a yale euro 5pin. Just a guess but it's like 14841. In other words 5 needs to go all the way up and I can't get my deepest pick up there. Have you ever run into that before? I've already cut it in half so I can see the pin. Trying to find a way to clamp it so I can pick that 1 pin from the back. Even using the SSDev or whatever they're called Sparrows 15k.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 лет назад

      +Randy Perkins what about working from the bottom of the keyway with a thin (.015" or .018") 7 hook?

    • @rjperkins365
      @rjperkins365 8 лет назад

      +LockPickingLawyer I've taken out last pin a got it np, but even with .015 SSDev Sparrows I just can't get it high enough. I'm watching it from the back side. I'm going to put 5 back in and take pin 4 out and see if I can get the pick to bend around the warding a lil bit. If I go off the bottom of the keyway with the SSDev.015 I can get the pin up till about 3/16 of the pin is showing while looking in the back I need to go up another 1/16 by what it looks like when I use the key. It's a good thing you are not in driving distance you would suffer with me lol.

    Can you feel the need for counter rotation on the pin after a false set, or you just know it?

    Where can i find all those different thicknesses of prybars?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 лет назад +1

      Thanks. I used 5 tools in this video. Peterson #1 hook in three different thicknesses (.015", .018" and .025"), and the toothed Peterson Prybar in .040" and .050". These are all available from thinkpeterson.com

    Out of curiosity, why are there so many round-body padlocks? Is there a reason for these to be used over something more squared off?
