  • An 11 day old moon (88% illuminated) shot with a Canon 3Ti and Celestron X2 Barlow using an Orion XT6 Dobsonian telescope (1200mm/150mm). This is raw footage and has no filtering.
You get some great views in this video of Mare Imbrium, Sinus Iridum and Copernicus in the NW section as well as Mare Humorum in the SW sector.

Thanks for the comment and I agree 100% the moon is a magnificent thing to lay eyes upon, more so when you can get close up.

Thanks for sharing such fabulous footage.
Just one question, how did you mount your T3i to your Orion/Barlow?
I have that same camera and would like to do some photography. Thanks.

      Thanks
I used an Orion T-Ring adaptor for Canon EOS cameras PN# (OR05224), it attaches directly to the camera where the lens would go. I also used a Celestron power lens X2 barlow with T-Threads (it attaches to the T-Ring adaptor).
