I’m planning a very big solo trip in Dec . Zim.zam.angola.namibia and definitely gonna subscribe for this! When i saved/created my trip i can export it to my garmin gps right ?
Hi, yes, once it's created, you can export it as a gpx or kml file. It will export a track, so be sure your Garmin can take a custom track with many hundreds of track points. Also Dec is not the best time for this region. It's the high summer and extremely hot. Over 40 to 50 degrees and It's also the wet season up there.
Generally the gpx file is for loading into your Garmin GPS and the KML an be imported into third party applications.... Best is to synchronize it with the Tracks4Africa Guide App.
Trip planning is not for everyone. Some people like to just find the adventure. Nonetheless, the trip planner is there to assist those who prefer to have structure within their adventure.
Looks great. Very well illustrated video. I can sense the death/obsolescence of my BaseCamp app on my laptop for future trip planning.
Thanks Sean..... The Trip Planner will certainly replace both MapSource and BaseCamp.
It’s currently only available for synchronization with Google devices, is that correct? If so, when IOS will be available?
No, it works with Android and iOS devices. Mobile and iPad, Tablet.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed watching.
can the trip planner routes be synced to the guide app on iOS also?
Yes it can, it works with Android and iOS
Very interesting but I’m more of a “let’s just wing it.” 😌
Winging it works for a lot of adventures, but sometimes it can land you in deep trouble. But that's part of the adventure isn't it ?.

Great product which file to use GPX or KML ? And why !

What version of Android does it need to operate as I tried downloading the App to both my smartphone & tablet, with no success?
when I add the second pint it does not show the distance
Hi Gerhard, that's correct. Once you add the 3rd point it will ask you to recalculate.
Hmmmm ! Not for me .....
