  • This video concludes the restoration of a Mopar Door Window Assembly in my 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback. This particular video pertains to A-Body models, but can be generally applied to most Chrysler, Plymouth or Dodge vehicles. Part 2 finishes the restoration of the Door Window Assembly, Installation and Adjustments.

    Thank you for making this.
    When I got my 69 Charger it was just a bare metal shell with boxes and boxes of parts.
    This helps so much and I’m planning to attempt the doors tomorrow now that I have seen this.

    I am finishing the complete rebuild on an all original, numbers matching, 1969, 383 fastback barracuda. All the mechanical rebuild was no problem. But the doors and windows were difficult as they had been removed prior to me buying the car and I never saw how they were assembled. Your video saved me. Can't thank you enough. l would have messed up so many parts without this info. And I have to be careful with this one. There were only 377 barracudas made in 1969 with the 383 engine. Again, thanks so much. Great video.

    These are great videos! I'm really glad I found them! The clown that put the glass and mechanical door assembly in my car did a lousy job. It's so tight I can hardly roll the window up or down.

    Thanks for these vids. It's hard to find tips on these old Dodges. Where did you get the full kit from? The vent trim we received was not even close to the profile we needed. Thanks.

    great instructions, clear, slow and visual, exactly my style of learning. Can you do a video of how to open a door with a broken plastic door rod clip? I removed the outside handle, inside handle, door panel and still can't figure it out. thank you

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      Sorry, no new video for the time being. Not sure what plastic rod clip you're talking about. Is it the plastic L-shape piece that covers the door lever inside the car, inside the door?

    • @cwhubb7220
      @cwhubb7220 2 года назад

      @@angelgarrido9609 yes it is, I got the door open so if you can give any advice on re installing the rod and clips it would be fantastic, thanks for your videos

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      @@cwhubb7220 As I remember, you should have the door latch mechanism already attached to the back of the door. Then you attach the long rod toward the back of the door onto the door latch mechanism. Let the long rod hang down for now. Now put the inside door handle assembly loosely on the door. Attach the other side of the long rod to the assembly. Add the plastic L-shape piece on the inside. Then bolt the door handle assembly to the door. Hope this helps.

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      Don't forget to add the J bracket on the inside of the door in the middle. Also add the cloth sleeve to the long rod. These keep the long rod from rattling.

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      Slight clarification. When you push in the door latch mechanism, the long rod goes on. Then put on the c-channel clip that connects the rod to the door latch mechanism. You will see the round tab at the top of the door latch mechanism. Now put in the plastic L-shape piece. Then attach the 2 bolts through the door latch mechanism on to the inside door panel.

    Angel, the 3M weatherstrip and gasket adhesive did not work for me to glue the chrome portion of the vent wing with the vent wing assembly. Tried twice. Now I just have a mess of black adhesive which I now need to remove. Any suggestions on making this work?

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  Год назад

      Did you try bending back the studs on the chrome A pillar piece to the vent window triangular part. (That is one each of the 3 sets of round studs)?

      @@angelgarrido9609 I did give them a few shots with a hammer and chisel, but was tentative about how it would turn out. Ended up using JB weld, and that seems to be holding the two parts together well

    I am just replacing the regulator in my 67 Satellite hardtop, driver side. Should I have to make any window adjustments? I bought a new regulator from Classic Ind, but the window rolled up within 1/2 in of the top. I couldn't get it to go up the last remaining 1/2". When I tried the handle rotated but no movement upwards. I figured I had a defective regulator, so I'm returning it and getting another one. I already replaced the cat whiskers and weather strip. This next try I want to make sure the regulator goes in ok and takes all the window all the way up. I never removed the window or changed any adjustments.

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      I don't think you will have too. You are not changing the pitch of the window, in or out, front or back.

    • @kvanderstel
      @kvanderstel 2 года назад

      @@angelgarrido9609 On another topic, I also replaced the vertical felt, one on each side, not sure the exact name. But it's the place where the two windows front & rear meet up. the passenger side the two windows are lined up nicely. On the drivers side, the bottom of the two windows are too close together and the top seem too far apart. AND, the top of the window seem too far out, where it doesn't want to meet up with the rubber on the top of the door jam. So it seems the top of the window needs to tilt in, and the top also needs to tilt forward. So two adjustments. I plan on watching this video again. The adjustment for the tilt forward seems to be located at the front of the door, but what about the tilt in?

    • @angelgarrido9609
      @angelgarrido9609  2 года назад

      @@kvanderstel To adjust the tilt in and out, they concern the rear channel guide. Adjust the rear bolts on the rear of the door.
      For the top, it's the bolt on the front of the door and the adjusting bolt on the bottom of the door. You have to take your time. A little at adjustment at a time.
