Thank you so much for posting this video! It helped me greatly! As much as I love the original service manual, it’s Mmmmm more of a visual guy. I’d be in trouble had you not posted this video Again thank you so very much
Though I have a 1966 Plymouth B-Body with no power steering and a 4 speed, this video helped me quite a bit since there isn't much support in the steering column world for 1966 models. There are some common items and those made a big difference. Thanks for the tips.
I’m redoing a 69 fastback too. Can’t wait to see the other tech videos. So far you’ve got two great ones uploaded. My car is completely apart so I look forward to see the rest of your work.
@@angelgarrido9609 yes sir I’ll be waiting to see what’s next. My car has the wheel well cut out with a plate made to set in a huge fuel cell. It was done to make the fuel cell low enough to use the factory filler neck and gas lid. I’m not thrilled with this setup and believe I’ll change. Your video on the column made me look mine over and notice I was missing a roll pin and I’m gonna buy that spring retainer clip to put in it also. My instrument cluster was sent off and rechromed to look new. Really enjoy the detail in your videos.
Great video, took my dodge dart apart 6 months ago to redo, this will help me remember how to put it back!!! Thanks for the information, very detailed and clear, good job!!!
you all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Axl Gustavo thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Pretty good video. It was of assistance in doing the rebuild on the same column. However, there are a couple pieces left over that I don't know exactly where they go and I didn't see where they were placed in this video. Thanks for getting me to this point. Time to search for where these go.
This is a GREAT video. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you installed your shoes flat side out (14:48). In the diagram (13:36), the shoes are flat side in - facing the shaft. I did my re-assembly according to the diagram (flat side in). Can you please clarify (if you know) which way is the correct shoe position? Thanks !
Great video, really good info with no BS. I'm looking forward to doing my 69 Charger but for now I needed to replace the steering wheel. The music is also really good, very classy! I really don't like that hip hop rap junk many videos have.

The shoes in the video are installed wrong. The flat of the shoe goes toward the shaft. The beveled side goes inside the coupler housing so it can pivot. The way they are installed in the video will cause binding. A Factory Service manual will have the illustration for this assembly.
I have a column (same as this one) that the key unlocks the steering lock but i cant move the shifter. Ive disconnected the linkage at the base of the column from the trans. The shifter will pull towards you but wont move up or down from park. Do you think that shifter tube is seized in there or is something in the ignition related to releasing it? What could stop the shifter from working properly with it totally disconnected?
Not using the column because the plastic pins are broken is wrong. They were installed to help with assembly and prevent vibration. The column can't extend when it's installed. It's perfectly fine to use
My understanding is the plastic pins were made to break away with a head-on collision. There was a Mopar repair kit back in the day to fix the broken pins, but that was discontinued. Let's say you tried to replace the pins with a DIY pin and you were in a head-on collision, what if the pins didn't break and the shaft didn't collapse. The steering column shaft becomes a spear and you would be impaled. So, yeah you can use it, but do you want to take a chance with your life? Not me.

Thanks man. Fuel tank is next, then dash, then windows. But be patient, it might be a while.

Superior video! The attention to detail will allow me to work on my out steering column.

Great Video! I was in the middle of this project when I found it!
Oh great. did it help?
Angel, Very nice video and patience to do it all! I know the drill!
I wish I had documented more of my work with video's of this caliber!!
Thanks Gerald for the kind words.
Great I was just about to Reassemble mine which I took about years ago and forgot how to put it back together

I tried flat side in, but it woudn't go in, so I reversed it.
@@angelgarrido9609 If it wouldn't go flat side in then something's wrong. Every diagram Ive seen shows flat side in.

Thank you! Wonderful video.
Fantastic video. Question: is the shift knob removable from the arm? I tried unscrewing on my B Body and it doesn’t budge.
Don't know, but i assume it is,
Good job Angel
Very nice thank you. Excellent.

Hope all is well. Haven’t seen a new video in a long time and would love to see you back doing videos.
I've got a new one coming. It's on Door Window Restoration. Part 1 is done, Part 2 is in the works. I will post both when done. Maybe another month.

@@angelgarrido9609 yes sir. My name is Jason Chafin on there. I’m online looking at parts for my car right now lol.
Great Video Sir! Thumbs up.
Nice video. Great music. Are the shoes installed backwards?? Where did you get the Mopar coupling body??
I think you can put the shoes on both ways. Find the coupling body on eBay.

Do you have the lock on the steering column and not on the dash. If so, I’m not familiar with that set up.
Great video! Is there a similar one for a floor shift assembly?
No, sorry.
Great video. Would you consider rebuilding my 67 barracuda steering column?
Sorry Jeff, no.
Thank You!

do you know how to remove the top of the shift knob??? I wanted to get a custom one for my 74 dodge b200 van
Don't know, sorry.
This is the best thank you
Thanks buddy! Glad to help.
I think your coupler shoes are on backwards. The rounder sides go away from the shaft.
How did you pack the bearings on the upper and lower shaft?
I just added grease with my hands.
Quick question: what paint did you use for the column?
PPG B7 Dark Blue with no clear.
Should this work on a 74 dodge dart?
Generally yes. But yours has the ignition switch on the column. I don't cover that.
Is that a factory wheel or custom? Never seen a rallye wheel in blue
Factory.

Real deal is steering wheel will break if you have manual steering, the lousy ratio is why
