I really enjoyed this remix. Eleanor Rigby is finally done correct. Every other track is new life. I still like a few of the older mixes but overall this may become my go to. The extra tracks are all super cool many which are totally new. Enjoy your set and Take care
What is your opinion of She Said She Said? I thought it a strange choice to separate the guitars in the stereo field that generally blend together as one. It is growing on me however.
Hi, i am fan of the beatles since the age of 15 years old.i have all their albums on cd and i also have paul mc cartney's albums in the collection: "the paul mccartney archive collection". I have got all the albums of the beatles in "special deluxe edition" : Revolver, abbey road, let it be, white album and sgt. Pepper's lonely heart club band.
I'm pretty happy with this new stereo mix. Yes, it can be kinda bass-ey, but the separation of channels is quite cool. It's fun to pick out tambourines and finger snaps never heard before!

Regarding the blu ray, even though I don’t have the set up to get the most out of it, I always appreciated it being there for those who do, and maybe for the day when I might eventually improve my home audio set up to fully enjoy it.The boxes are always great but the subtraction of the blu ray while keeping a similar price is annoying. As for the ep’s, they are a cool inclusion on vinyl but adding a 4 track 10 minute disc while taking away the blu ray, and limiting the amount of tracks on the cds just so the vinyl sets can match are my major gripes with these sets. That said, bring on Rubber Soul!
It is indeed really trying to get the most $$ out of it. I will be buying it when it drops to 80, which it will eventually do. Just got Sgt. P for a little over $100.
You can get a Sony BR player for $100. Even if you’d only listen to the stereo mixes on it, it will still be worth the (little) jump. Blu-ray audio equals the so-called warmth of analog. You will not regret it.
@@musiclassica ok, again I worded it wrong. I know it has the hi res on the blu ray discs, my point is that I don’t yet have the 5.1 setup to enjoy those options :)

Thanks for posting, glad you are back in business!:-)....wonder if the reason there is no DVD is that, they really didn't do a video of the recording process?? Seems strange no video ?
In the previous remixes they've included a Blu-ray which contained a 5.1 surround mix of the album. No video content is featured on them. But it seems strange they didn't offer it for this album. Especially when Giles Martin actually made a surround mix for this release.
Hello!! Nice to See you again mark !!😋… This one with Pet Sounds along with Pepper… Was the turning point in modern (POP) music!!! Can we hope for Rubber Soul, next year!!?🖤👍…
Everything has been pretty great on this set! The comic in the book was fun, but I wish there would have been a section on the Yesterday & Today fiasco lol
The sound on this box set is I think even better than the 2009 stereo remaster that I grew up with. Definitely my now preferred way of listening to this album in stereo like the box sets before it. Although mono will always be the definitive version. 👍🏻
Despite them reusing from tracks from Anthology and some pictures we've seen before, the books in these sets are really great. (Even if the Font size looks tiny on first glance.)
So Mark I ordered mine on the 7th of September and it came back that it was being delivered on November 18th. I was pissed but I just didn't feel like arguing with Amazon. And then as the date got closer for release the more pissed off I was getting thinking that can't be right. 3 days before the release it says it was going to be delivered on the 28th of October which that's what it should have said in the first place. Nevertheless it was delivered yesterday. Very interested to get your take on she said she said. I've got an opinion about that one but I'll wait till you're done listening to it a couple times. Take care Mark
There was no other way back in the Sixties. Computers were massive cumbersome HAL-like devices back then that would fill up half your house. Mr. Voorman was quite an artiste...
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing. I’ve ordered both boxsets from Amazon but apparently I’m not going to get them until 8th Nov!! I think I’ll cancel and reorder as you suggest. Mike
Did anyone notice the back covers of the extras and sessions CD's have slightly different photos than the ones on the stereo and mono discs. Too bad they didn't include a color shot which could have been on the back of the EP. Oh well, maybe there's one in the book.
i asked once on another video why no sessions for “Goodday, Sunshine” and someone replied because they actually did that song in one take. i don’t know if he was being serious or joking but i have heard of that happening a few times with other artists. i guess sometimes you get lucky?🤷
Yes I think Giles Martin had mentioned that they only did 2 or 3 takes of that song and they were all pretty similar so there was really no need to include them as bonuses for this release.
Did they point out in this book Lennon's main involvement in the creation of Yellow Submarine and Harrison's authorship of the chorus for Eleanor Rigby? And who do they think is the main lyricist of Eleanor Rigby? What does it say about George Martin's participation in the creation of the Eleanor Rigby tune?
You didn't have to cancel and re-order. I pre-ordered the new Revolver mix 5-CD set the day that Amazon allowed pre-orders to begin... and it always said that I would receive it sometime in November, but I received it on release day. I didn't have to re-order. Of course people who pre-order are given priority... and you would have received your original order on release day. Re-ordering was completely unnecessary.
I know the YS song from the 1999 YS Songtrack was a very nice version. Have you heard that one? I have not really compared the 2015 version to the 1999 version so now I may do just that when I listen to this 2022 version of that song.
This remix did not solve any of the problems of the eternal debate about which is better - mono or stereo. One or two interestingly reworked songs like Eleanor Rigby don't affect anything, as mono still sounds better. But I liked the outtakes, although expected more variety and Eleanor Rigby's demo, which proves once again that Paul only wrote a fragment of the song.
Uhmm wonder why John didn't sing the lead since you say he wrote the majority of it?...I've never really heard them do that, the one who writes the number sings it...
@@debessar95 You stated "Paul only wrote a fragment of Eleanor Rigby" you are saying that there is proof? So what other songs did John write that Paul is singing? My alternative review of this..and it aint good... Who cares how the remix sounds fidelity wise in mastering terms if the remix sucks? It could sound *real* all day long but the remix makes it sound so weird that I sound quality isnt a consideration. For me sound quality doesnt come into play. Moot topic. Do a good remix with good sound, then we are cooking. But this remix isnt it. Here is why... Tell me how any of this is subjectively better or even differently as good as the original mix?: Phasey sound on the cymbals on Taxman. Some weird stuff going on with the guitar solo, in that it has some sort of chewed up/chopiness from the tambourine being extracted from it. Are unatural cymbal sounds and a worse sounding guitar solo ever an improvement? The disjointed guitar mess that is She Said She Said. Its almost universally hated that Giles did this. If so many hate it, then how can it be an improvement? Harmonium is so buried that is barely audible. Can basically losing an actual instrument be in any way a good thing? An improvement? Please tell me who thinks subjectively or objectively placing the guitars and drums on Yellow Submarine on the left is an improvement? Or by removing the foghorn on "Yellow Submarine" makes this song in anyway better or even differently better? Restoring the opening strum, and John's missing vocal line - totally understand those differences. But why mute the foghorn, what possible reason is there? That isnt being "artistically alternatively different". That is taking away part of the song. Listen to the stereo remix of 'Rain'. Pauls bass seems to have evaporated. Well, thats sometimes an improvement to a song isnt it? Not. Then there are the little things that add up which were taken out.. Missing nuances that helps gives Revolver its character and ambience such as the infamous hum of the amp being gone now. For what reason? How did getting rid of the hum make the album better? Did it place us more in human contact with realism of the moment or take us a bit out of the moment? It didnt help or improve a thing. It took away a bit of the cool feel of the song is all it did. The guitar feedback midway through TNK..burried. Once again the later being a cool little subtle characteristic placeholder that now is no longer present. ADT on the lead guitar in Doctor Robert. Again messing with the character of the song in a way that improves nothing. These above are but a few examples. I could go on and on with these "improvements".
