Arizona strip! Have you ever done the hike to lava falls in the Grand Canyon? Definitely a late fall or early spring hike though… very remote and I did not see other hikers both times I went.
I have been going to Lake Alice, Poker Hollow, Hobble Creek and that area since 1966. I absolutely love it. Taken my kids up there also. Thank you very very much for your video. It is wonderful, and brings back so many best memories... I love your postings and never miss one.. Never miss TENKARA ADDICT either. Please keep up the great work.. Mark
Sitting in my comfortable chair in the cool of the evening in the Northeast is NOTHING compared to this amazing trip you have taken me on tonight. WOW!!! I can't tell you how much you made my evening. You are such an inspiration! I could never do such things, but watching you do these things makes it almost feel like I went along. Such a beautiful area, and that lake! Fabulous!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Awesome vid! You know what’s delightful? Hearing the excitement in your voice at that “fish on!” exclamation, AND the unbridled joy in the success of the raft! I was grinning myself silly at your delight! I don’t think I’ve ever wished from something to work for you as hard as I wished for that raft! 😂 Can’t wait to see you in it in another beautiful mountain lake! ❤
Beautiful lake! A must see on my list! Thanks once more for sharing!!! It was such a pleasure to hear the joy and excitement in your voice when you caught the fish and floating in your new light-weight raft!!! Love it!!! Be safe!😊
Hey, a rapid raft! I've been using one a few years now, they're awesome for times when weight is critical and you don't need the whitewater performance of an alpacka. A couple tips for the raft: -get a beer coozy, cut out the bottom so you have a tube of fabric, and put the big buckle through the fabric tube when you're rolling up the roll closure. Some people have reported the big buckle abrades against the floor fabric over time so the coozy helps protect against that. -A flextailgear tinypump can blow air through the inflation tube and inflate the boat pretty fast. Why you'd want to do that instead of shaking air in: you can use the rolltop closure to stash gear inside the tubes of the boat. Very similar to the alpacka raft cargo fly concept, but doesn't use the expensive and failure prone tizip closures. This feature makes the rapid raft one of the best boats on the market for combo backpacking/paddling trips on flatwater, in my opinion
Just a wonderful time, thanks for sharing with us! Just fun, fishing and a boat. Brought a big smile to my face. The Lord bless you and keep you, Turn His face and shine upon you, Grant you grace, mercy and peace, In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
First of all, that pack raft is the hook up. Opens doors to a whole nother level #dimensions The editing. LEGENDARY! And just how many cameras were recording while out on that pack raft? Then there’s the recording and camera placement on the trail! So much thought and attending to detail. This is award winning videography. THANK YOU. IT FELT AS THOUGH I WAS RIGHT THERE! It’s almost as if I could smell the air on the lake. I started taking deep breaths lol
Wow the crystal clear water in that lake is amazing. That’s a cool little raft to take in your backpack. So wonderful that you had the place to yourself. 👍🌸🌊
I’m from the south. Took a cross country trip to Banff and back with my truck and RV. I completely fell in love with Wyoming and Montana. Your videos help show me places I can go on an adventure and know I can do so safely. Thank you. Definitely adding this to my To Do list.
Thanks Tristan! Thoroughly enjoyed your trip. You’ve got some neat toys. Really liked the net (slick unfurling) and the raft was impressive. Thanks for taking us on your adventure.
Has anyone suggested that you could combine that great raft and your fishing gear and fish those beautiful mountain lakes from your raft? You could go places that few fishermen have gone before! 🎣 😄
I really enjoy your videos. Personally I wish I had grown up with you as childhood friends and then, as grownups, gotten to travel with you on some of your adventures. Take care.
I tell my boys to travel America. I know the Carribean is beautiful and warm but mountains and Redwoods out west you have shown me my Grandchildren would love
Cool boat. When you started I was very skeptical. Amazing lake. Love your videos. We get lots of ideas on where to visit in the western states. The people on the next season of the History channel TV show Alone need to make this one of there items.
Many thanks for taking us along. Reminds me of friends long gone and all the good times we had. Camping in the rain is par for the course. Military camping is funnier 😂
I love how you find such interesting places to visit that are not full of other people. I've lived in the West my entire life and you keep bringing new places to my attention. I also love that little raft - thinking seriously about it.
Thank you for this video! I remember going to that lake with my parents while visiting in Idaho! It is so pretty! My father was an avid fisherman and always had a fishing rod with him. He had a portable rod that was always in his truck. Great catch!
Great video! The raft is an awesome added element to a trail adventure. I can't count the times I have hiked to a lake and wished there was away other than swimming in frigid water to get out on the lake. Great toy! Thanks, Tristan!
I'm cooking here in SW Florida (heat index of 104 today)... nice to see a cool spot where you have to wear a light jacket. Thank you for sharing your delightful adventure with us. Brings back lots of good memories.
What an awesome adventure! That lake is quite a gem and the raft did work out pretty nicely! Oh and congrats on the very special catch. All around a great episode.
This is a great video and such a great location! Thanks so much for sharing! That raft was super cool, too, and it was such fun to see you enjoy it. You seem to be living your best life! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures..
Awesome little pack raft! The company should sponsor you for giving the raft two thumbs up! I love that it’s lightweight, easy to inflate and durable on the water. I like the travel fish rod too, great find! I have yet to explore that area- so much beauty there and looks like there are a lot of campsites too. Another wonderful video, thanks again for taking us along.
Love, love, love the Pack Raft. I've been looking at portable rafts/kayaks and this one looks like just what I need for car camping! Yay!!! Thanks for introducing this.
The color and clarity of Lake Alice reminded me of Sunfish Pond along the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey about 2-3 miles north of the Delaware Water Gap.
That Lake was where I'd like to be fishing with my brothers. I've only seen one lake that clear where I was working which was Forest Park lake in Maine. After work I hiked down to see the lake which was similar to what you showed us. I wish I was vacationing there to enjoy camping and fishing but I had to hike back to car and drive to motel so i could finish my job the next day at a clean water plant from the lake that only needed slight filtration and ozone gas oxidation to provide safe drinking water.
Well Tristan, another beautiful adventure 🤗👍👍glad you caught a fish and really glad the rain waited for you to get off the lake in your ingenious new raft. Thank you. Be safe🤔🤗
I was just hiking up in glacier country near Golden, BC. I had a sturdy pair of sandals for the creek crossings and they were well worth the extra weight! They didn't help with the cold, but they got me to the other side with no stubbed toes. That gorgeous lake looks worth the numb feet to get there. And that trout was darn special! Love your channel btw.
Great hike in! Really enjoyed your Trout catch & new raft adventure! I remember my first trip to Yellowstone & stopped at Bear Lake on my way from Salt Lake City; you're right about the color of the water...that brought back a lost memory. Thanks Tristan.
Adventure in Wyoming to find Lake Alice. Funny to have an inaccessible campground have a fee. Hmm 4 vehicles, but you walked over the stream as your vehicle is lower clearance. Lovely blue green clear water. What a lovely find:) Cool little back pack blow up boat. Delightful.
This was a blast. GORGEOUS lake. I have never seen mountain lake water quite like that. Do you know if the campsites are first-come first-serve? Tristan, I've been watching your earliest videos recently, and it's amazing how much more relaxed and animated you are now. You were soooo angsty and serious and dark early on lol. Did you not know Cassie at that point? Did she light your fire? Your camera skills too of course are so much more polished.Just amazing. Thanks for these fabulous adventures. Please, young man, be careful. 🙏🏼
Beautiful lake. Thanks for sharing. Nice pack raft! It uses the Bernoulli pump bag principle I've used before to inflate a backcountry float tube as part of the raft; very clever. I do suggest you add inflatable PFDs to your pack raft kits. They don't weigh much and pack up small.
I wouldn't want to take it out in windy conditions, but the little pack raft looks like a great way to carry around a small watercraft. The more we get out, the more my husband and I have been appreciating National Forest land. Thanks for sharing that great spot.
You should check out Lake Agnes near Cameron Pass in Colorado, I fish it a few times a year. It's about an hour hike and has cutthroat trout and is beautiful and would be the perfect setting for that raft. Enjoy all of your videos and have taken up Tenkara fishing. Stay safe, Rick
Thanks Tristan, this spot is on the short list now 😀 very serene and just gorgezzz. That raft is so fun 👍🏼pricey but what a great prize to have in the back for such hikes. Cheers 🤙🏼
That was really something, I really liked that. Am gonna make a note of, Lake Alice. Have followed you around visiting some fantastic spots, but this one is a lot more unique than initially thought. It's a really nice spot worth checking out. I think I pointed out prior having fully explored the west and that's one area have evidently TOTALLY missed out on, hmm? Welp if I'm ever taken to hitting the road again I got something new on my bucket list. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Where should I go next? 😁
I haven’t looked at your playlist yet, however, I’ve always wanted to go to Banff in Canada or you choose! I’m sure it’s gonna be amazing.
Arizona strip! Have you ever done the hike to lava falls in the Grand Canyon? Definitely a late fall or early spring hike though… very remote and I did not see other hikers both times I went.
Snake Gulch in Arizona has a lot of native American pictographs.
You could head my way in central Alabama and Georgia, but wait until it cools off.
Snowey mountain range
You have taken to so many western places I would never see without your videos. The raft really was pretty good after all.
Nothing better than a cup of coffee, and Tristan on a Saturday morning! Thanks for the adventure Tristan!
Thanks for watching!
If you can walk across a stream, your vehicle should have no problem going across. BTW, I love your raft. I might have to get one of those.
Right? That was a little silly lol. I've taken a Volkswagen Jetta through deeper, faster moving creek crossings and it was perfectly fine.
You have a gift for finding and sharing the hidden gems of our land.
I'd say it's less of a gift and more of lots of looking at maps 😁
Living my day vicariously. Only a high of 97 today and watching this video first thing will make my day cooler! Loved the raft part! Thanks!😊
I hope the humidity isn't too bad! 😬
Uggghhh. SAME!
36 % humidity, 58% dewpoint, and a hurricane is coming. East coast was hit with 98% humidity.🥵@@SUVRVing
I have been going to Lake Alice, Poker Hollow, Hobble Creek and that area since 1966. I absolutely love it. Taken my kids up there also. Thank you very very much for your video. ❤
Lol thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
When you were laughing on the raft I was laughing right along with you. 😂 Great to see you so happy.
That simple dot showing where you are was really appreciated. That's what I want first.
Alice Lake & inflatable pack raft - great combo. 😊 Another great Tristan adventure. 👍🏻
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
In recent memory, this is one of your best.
Beautiful lake! A must see on my list! Thanks once more for sharing!!! It was such a pleasure to hear the joy and excitement in your voice when you caught the fish and floating in your new light-weight raft!!! Love it!!! Be safe!😊

WOW, beautiful lake. That was fun. Another one for my list. Thanks Tristen 👌

Your excitement in catching that fish brought a big smile to my face! And what a neat raft!! Thanks again for introducing us to this unique space.
Oh my gosh what fun! Such a beautiful lake, nice catch and there is something special being able to paddle on a clear lake and having it to yourself!❤
My Saturday mornings always start by watching your wonderful videos! Beautiful spot. Loved the raft.
I appreciate you watching!
What a great multi-layered adventure! So many diverse aspects. Fascinating to see how you have opened up adventure options. Loved your joyful grin!
Now that's what I call a camping trip. That would be great to do at least once a month. I loved everything about this trip.
That was a beautiful trout! Exciting to see ya catch it! Great video as usual.
Wow the crystal clear water in that lake is amazing. That’s a cool little raft to take in your backpack. So wonderful that you had the place to yourself. 👍🌸🌊

As usual, my favorite part is the sheer joy on your face as you describe your adventures 🤗 Thank you for sharing
I'm adding this lake to my to do list, just for the pure Bonneville Cutthroat trout!!
I think you should find another pristine little lake to play in and paddle around in! Hope you can find one!❤️😀🇺🇸🚙
Being able to get out on the water is an entirely new dimension when hiking. Total game changer. Thanks
That raging creek is scary Tristian, wow 😧
Those trout are beautiful! Amazing lake as well. Thanks for taking me along on another great adventure.
I really enjoy your videos. Personally I wish I had grown up with you as childhood friends and then, as grownups, gotten to travel with you on some of your adventures. Take care.
I like how the drone captured your floating on the lake! A great little raft!
I tell my boys to travel America. I know the Carribean is beautiful and warm but mountains and Redwoods out west you have shown me my Grandchildren would love
Gem IS the word! 💎
When I'm not hiking and camping I'm watching you hike and camp. Headed to Wyoming this September, just got from Utah. Always planning the next trip.
Beautiful views 👍. Trout yummy yummy yummy yummy 😋
Nice trout on a pristine lake! I'm jealous 😂😂😂
another cool adventure !!!
So many things on this one! The lake, the raft, the trout! Thanks!

The people on the next season of the History channel TV show Alone need to make this one of there items.
Dude that lake was beautiful, it’s good to know there still great places in America that aren’t ruined by way too much traffic. Awesome video.
you didn't see that corolla in the parking lot? lol
Many thanks for taking us along. Reminds me of friends long gone and all the good times we had. Camping in the rain is par for the course. Military camping is funnier 😂
That water is so gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this!
Beautiful scenery, nice catch! That raft is pretty cool. Great ratings for such a lightweight fabric. Happy trails! Love to see you out adventuring
Thanks!

really BEAUTIFUL water shots
This is a great video and such a great location! Thanks so much for sharing! That raft was super cool, too, and it was such fun to see you enjoy it. You seem to be living your best life! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures..
That little raft looked like a lot of fun to use on just about any little river!

This was a wonderful outing. Love your new pack raft. Great gear addition! ❤
Love the new format of your videos Tristan! Thanks for sharing. That Rapid Raft is impressive 🤙🏼
This video is a GEM!
Crestone, CO. Bat caves. Hot springs and cabins too.

The color and clarity of Lake Alice reminded me of Sunfish Pond along the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey about 2-3 miles north of the Delaware Water Gap.
Nice catch of the trout at the lake!!!
Gorgeous peaceful lake. Love the raft, that’s great for backpacking. Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for watching!
Try the boat on the Teton National parks lake solitude!🎉😊 what a film that would be! Our favorite trail and glacial lake.
Beautiful water. Happy fishing😊

reminds me of Lake Tahoe with the clear turquoise water looks a bit more peaceful where you are
Great swimming hole,I'm going to visit this Summer. Thanks for sharing what you do. You are an inspiration. ✌️
We really like the places you take us, Thank you for sharing!
Wow! The clear color of that water is beautiful. And your joyful laughter is just wonderful.

Nice Tristan, very nice. I love lakes like this. Heck I would make a raft if I had too just to be on water that beautiful. So peaceful ❤
I also need that pack raft! I always find myself at a beautiful little lake in the mountains wishing I had my kayak.
🐟 Cool raft.

Suggestion: To better convert paddle strokes into forward progress, strap a foam noodle to the bottom to serve as a rudder.
what a fantastic vid! shared with 3 peops

Nifty raft and no frostbit tush is excellent !! Great day.
Fantastic! Awesome! Wow! Would I like to do that!!!
Thanks for sharing.
Lynn from Plain City, UT. West from where you used to live in Ogden.
That's a pretty lake with a cool story. I also have a very expensive 2lb boat I got for Christmas that I haven't tried yet. lol.
Exquisite scenery & love your new raft 👍 Thanks Tristan
That is a cool raft!
how fun! we used to troll for trout in a similar blow-up raft in the Sierras!
