Needed pumped once to set the hi idle. It would started and ran first try. Its in good shape. I inherited my grandmothers 89 Pomtiac 6000 LE 2.8 multi port in 2003 with 50,0000 miles on it. Was perfect i sold it in 2013 it still only had 80000 mi and was perfect stil.
I'm working on a 1988 Chevrolet celebrity, 2.8L multi port fuel injection. This car was parked 11 years ago because of brake issues and valve covers needing to be replaced. Any advice before I start this project?
Definitely don't run it on that old gas at all . Will clog them injectors up an if the pump even works that wouldn't be good to run that car off it . After so long the gas turns into a nasty jelly stuff an the color changes too an smell .
These cars are bad for ignition coil packs an fuel injectors. I have a video on my channel of my 87 eurosport 2.8v6 an more check them out cause that car sat for 7+ years an I got it running an driven again
It's actually not hard at all on these . There is 2 , 10mm or 13mm bolts to take off and 2 fuel hard lines to remove but only.... use line wrenches to take them off or you could risk stripping them and never giving them off or back on that goes to the fuel pump . 1 is a fuel feed line and 1 is a return line . It all located on the passenger side engine block bottom next to the AC and everything you should see it
toyoscio actually not really cause I've actually thought about doing that swap and I've also seen it done as well there is a video of someone else to that has done that swap and shows a video of it running and driving on one of these cars it isn't that hard to do is much as wireing it all up and getting all done right but isn't to bad and there's plenty of room to do the swap
Justin Avery yes they did lol and it really aggravates me and gets on my nerves because I fix one thing and then later there's something else wrong with leaking but so far it's just one thing leaking which is the front valve cover right now and it's blowing it back all over the engine and makes it look really bad but it's just the valve cover causing the leak
My 4cyl VC continued to leak after many attempts. I found a FelPro gasket "fix" kit that has silicone gaskets with a steel core, new VC bolts and load spreaders. I don't know if they have them for the V6 though.
Hi, I'm from Venezuela. I would like you to help me with the diagram of the hoses that go from the carburetor to the engine and the ones that go to the gas burner, my whasap +58 0426 951 83 74

Antoinecorner thanks and yes I am big fan of the old cars especially these types of cars
To bad the 2.8 in these cars was crap.
all youd have to do is drop ina 3.8 L supercharged series 2 then it would move
That's a good thought though it may be a tight fit

I love the gm 60 degree v6, but damn these engines leak everywhere possible.
