Origami Daddy Long Leg Folded from the Thinnest Paper in the World

- Folded from tengujo, the thinnest paper in the world. Tengujo, also written tengucho, is made from kozo fibers which come from the mulberry tree. The company Hidaka Washi makes varying thicknesses of the paper ranging all the way down to 1.6 gsm which is thinner than human skin.

I chose a daddy long leg to fold with this paper because they have very long skinny legs.
Daddy long legs, also known as harvestmen are not actually spiders like many people think. They are in the order of arachnids called opiliones and, unlike spiders, they have fused body segments and only two eyes. Another common myth about daddy long legs is that they are the most poisonous spider in the world but their fangs are too soft or short to be able to bite a human, but this is just flat out incorrect.

This is extremely amazing man! I am a 12 year old kid I did this one many thanks to you for designing this! Its super cool and extremely realistic my sister got scared and screamed to me and came running to me I just sticked it to wall where the wind was coming and wind made it move so she screamed and came to me! Once again thank you for designing this!

I did, but it's a really simple crease pattern that's been used for other spiders and octopi I just thinned the legs more

Kevin hutson I made one its really amazing its exactly same as u did I used single tissue but did u put 32 by 32 grid in your first daddy long leg? Which u folded from single tissue I used 64 and I could thin the legs perfectly
That's awesome! I'd love to check it out, do you have an IG? When I used a 64 grid with single tissue, I shaped one leg and I wasn't able to get it any thinner than with my 32 grid so I didn't finish it.

Hey Kevin hutson I have collapsed this model I don't know how u did body of it it's long I have shaped the legs but not the body can you please tell how did you get the body round
I actually just wrapped it around a couple times, so if the legs are sticking out to the sides it stays perpendicular and goes around the bottom then over the top a couple times. I also folded the tip of the flap under and made two eyes, they’re hard to see in the pictures though

Where Can I get the cp?
I'll probably put it on Instagram, it's a really simple cp though. It's just 9 equal flaps (4 corners, 4 edges, and 1 center). You just fold both diagonals, blintz, then fold the grid, I used 64x64 with this paper, but 32x32 when I used normal single tissue.
