Finally, after a lot of speculating, thinking and pondering what to do, we are moving to Portugal.
In our previous Portugal vlogs, we entertain the idea of buying an apartment, however we didn't go through with it, as there seemed to be too many obstacles.

So this time we decided to rent an apartment instead of this otherwise massive commitment that probably was what put us off in the end. Renting an apartment for 1 year minimum, however, is also a big commitment as we don't really know how we will like living in Portugal.
We are pretty sure, though, that we will love it, as we have already spent close to two months in the city. Lisbon and Portugal in general has so much to offer that we find it hard to not have enough of content ideas for keeping our vlog going.
The first Lisbon project will be to decorate the completely unfurnished apartment, which is quite a mouthful.
We are so excited to have moved to Portugal. Are you ready to follow our adventure?

A cool fact is, it never snows in lisbon even in the harsh winter, rarely temperatures will go below 5 degrees!
That’s something we already cherish! The climate here is right up our alley! ♥️♥️
Yes, the moderate winter is one reason I am planning to move to Portugal. I thought Lisbon first, but maybe Coimbra.

Just in case, if you want to try one of the best pastry shops in Lisbon you should go to «Pastelaria Versailles» (it's a 3 min. walk from Saldanha Square)...

It looks so good :o I love the new appartment! There is so much places for you to go please don't forget the islands madeira and azores! Also I would advice to go to Peneda Gerês national park, Lousã, Aveiro (try tripa and ovos moles there but be careful in porto tripa is a total different thing ahahah), porto, coimbra, there is so much stuff to see and try :D

It is expensive. And possibly too expensive, but try see what you can find that has a good location, is modern and new, good quality materials and private parking spot. You will not find anything for less than 2200€

I’m so jealous of how easy your moving to Lisbon was! I’ve just moved here last month from the US, with a wife, 3 dogs, six pieces of lugged and 15 boxes, which were all stopped by the Portuguese customs! Then we had to wait 3 hours at the airport to go to an Airbnb apartment on the third floor, without elevator! 😭

Welcome back again to Portugal. For water, light, wifi (internet, tv, mobile phone) , gas , you need to do a individual contract, one place you can find all those companies are at Loja do cidadão (you need to bring your id and the lease contract, and cash) , water is only one companie that provides it , light and gas there are a few find the best one for you (EDP, Galp, Endesa) , internet and mobile can be all in one , i like Vodafone. Be carefull because most contracts are for 2 years, since you rented the house for one look closely.
Obrigado, amigo! We wish you had told us all that earlier, as we now have had to learn it the hard way. We chose Galp and it’s been an absolute nightmare. We still don’t have electricity, but vlogs on this topic will follow!

you never asked ;) . well welcome to Portugal , bureaucracy and major monopolist companies contracts are a nightmare . If you have Galp on gas maybe galp for electricity can be a good option, I think they give a discount if you get both (like most ones do) .

Welcome to Lisbon. Go to Loja do Cidadão to your contracts. There´s one at Larangeiras (metro station same name - blue line). but before you need a NIF card. from the finantial and tax department. You can get it also at Loja do Cidadão.

Congrats! Just went through the same exact process - signed a 1 yr lease by looking at photos and videos on Whatsapp only before coming. Luckily apt had water/electricty/wifi/etc by the time we landed. We're in the Chiado/São Bento area. Hit me up when you're all settled (you have my email from a few days back) and welcome to the good life! P.S. If you need any help with anything let us know. We've just gone through all this.

In reality there isn’t much of an alternative really, as you will have to stay in airbnbs and hotels for maybe two months if you aren’t lucky enough to find the right one. Also nice area. +KpDeema haha! A little insanity is always good. But I’m glad we did. It would have been too stressful to start the search only when we arrived here. Then we would have to juggle airbnbs and hotels alongside, vlogging, finding the right apartment etc etc.

Really depends on where you wanna live. If it’s prime location like Saldanha, Chiado and inner Lisbon in general then 2000-2500€

It’s quite steep at 2.500€ a month, but that’s Lisbon! Just finding a nice apartment is difficult if not impossible!
You could do much nicer and cheaper in your country's capital - Amsterdam..If you notice all the Portuguese driving around in luxury cars right now.It's because of suckers like you guys
Why in the world would we live in Amsterdam? We are from Copenhagen, which is the capital of Denmark. And here you won't get much more for the same budget. Also, we like the sun. And warmer temperatures. And much lower cost of living. And cheaper cars. Should I go on? :-)
