  • Learn how to draw any size of framing lumber for building your SketchUp model project. You can quickly model anything from a 2x4 to a 2x12 using a few simple steps. Models you create using these methods will help plan and design your project by 'building with bytes before boards'!

You are quick on some of your moves but that's okay. It inspires me to become better. I download your videos, play them on my right monitor. This enables me to use the keyboard to pause and play the video. This is a big help because I can keep my "drawing" screen active all the time. Thank you.

Since I started using SketchUp about a month ago I find your videos very helpful. It’s the finer details of how to select a face or line and what buttons to press that make using the program less frustrating. Thank you for sharing

Thanks Michael, it's definitely the little things you encounter on the learning curve for 3D modeling that frustrate the most, isn't it?! I did a LOT of hair pulling in the beginning too...
I started The Digital Jobsite channel to share stuff I figured out as I tried to model carpentry projects with SketchUp about 6 years ago. From your channel icon it looks like you're doing some framing? Modeling is a whole different paradigm than actually building stuff but you'll find that the more you work with it the faster you get and the more helpful it becomes. In case you're interested I have a 2nd RUclips Channel called Next Level Carpentry. Most of the videos of actual carpentry projects on NLC start with SketchUp models so you might find it helpful on that level too... or not :-)
      Best,
      Matt Jackson

Can you make a video with this same structure but making the roof higher from the the shed back wall and lowering a bit to the other end? Something like from 9.0' high, then lowering to 7-1/2'. I have in mind to build something like this. The shed is gonna be for my tools and portable equipment, and the open area is gonna be used for cutting. But I have no idea how to make the roof that way. I doesn't want to any other roof layout. I am willing to pay you for the plan is necessary. Thank you!
